38: Chapter 38 Special Effects

The electric vehicle had already stopped on the Highway, and its kickstand was lowered.

Qin Yun carried Cat Xiaoxiao as he stepped off the electric vehicle, then opened the vehicle category on the survivor panel.

"Xiao Qi, I'm about to upgrade the electric vehicle. Do you have any issues on your end?"

His voice carried a hint of anticipation.

"Master, I have no issues on my end. You can go ahead and upgrade the electric vehicle."

Qin Yun took a few steps back and used his mind to click on the upgrade option in the vehicle category.

[Vehicle upgrade requirements met. Do you want to manually select the required materials?]

There was nothing else to choose from, but metal definitely had to be selected!

It was simple enough; Qin Yun just needed to follow his own judgment and start selecting from the ones with the lowest value and utility.

As long as it was metal, it would work, and this wouldn't affect the quality of the vehicle after the upgrade!

After making all the selections, Qin Yun also learned a piece of information: the upgrade process wouldn't affect the people or items on the vehicle, and it wouldn't even be affected if it were currently moving!

That was perfect; otherwise, it would be too troublesome to have to stop and have everyone get off every time an upgrade was needed.

Immediately, Qin Yun confirmed the vehicle upgrade!

[Vehicle upgrading...]

At the same time, a seven-colored light shield appeared outside the electric vehicle, blocking the view of Qin Yun and Cat Xiaoxiao who were outside the shield.

The next second, the light shield vanished, and along with it came the driving ability for a tricycle!

He instantly mastered the driving skills for the corresponding vehicle!

[Vehicle upgrade complete!]

[Congratulations on becoming the first Survivor on Blue Star to successfully upgrade an electric vehicle. Reward received: First electric vehicle Upgrade Pack * 1!]

Qin Yun almost jumped on the spot!

First electric vehicle Upgrade Pack!

He was actually the first among the billions of Survivors on Blue Star to successfully upgrade an electric vehicle, and the key was that he was rewarded with a first-upgrade pack!

This was really... too exciting!

Qin Yun took a deep breath and turned his attention back to the tricycle.

The pack was already in his hands, but there was no rush; he should look at the more important vehicle first!

The electric vehicle had transformed into a tricycle with a cargo cabin; at the same time, it was taller, sturdier, and better-looking than the tricycles in Qin Yun's memory!

He walked around the tricycle and gently tapped on it with his hand.

The front had an exposed anti-collision steel plate, the sides of the driver's cab had thick doors with windows, there was a windshield in front, and the metal plate on the roof was also very thick!

Two ordinary energy-gathering guns were on the left and right sides of the roof, and a metal grid for the vehicle-mounted drone was in the middle!

The left and right sides and the top of the cargo cabin also had thick metal plates, and there was a metal window that could be opened and closed on each side...

Just then, the thick door opened, and Qin Xiaoqi's voice came:

"Master, please get in!"

Qin Yun, carrying Cat Xiaoxiao who had her eyes wide open, entered the tricycle's driver's cab.

The driver's seat was right in the middle, with a small seat without a backrest on both the left and right sides.

"Xiaoxiao, have you noticed that there's a strange feeling as soon as you enter the tricycle's driver's cab?"

Cat Xiaoxiao meowed, indicating that her recovery speed had become faster.

"Recovery speed?"

"Master, after the electric vehicle upgraded into a tricycle, it gained a positive special effect that increases recovery speed by 5%. This recovery speed applies to everything—stamina, spirit, injuries... and so on. As long as you stay on the vehicle and are recognized, you can enjoy this bonus!"

Hearing Qin Xiaoqi say this, Qin Yun once again showed an expression of both shock and excitement.

He really hadn't expected so many surprises after upgrading the vehicle: the first-upgrade pack, the tricycle that looked so sturdy, and now learning about this magical effect!

Moreover, the recovery was comprehensive!

Even if it was only a 5% bonus, that was still incredible!

Besides, this was only the first upgrade; what about future upgrades?

Qin Yun calmed his excitement and asked: "Besides this special bonus effect, are there any other obvious changes?"

"Master, compared to the electric vehicle, the tricycle's various performance metrics have significantly improved, most notably in speed and defense!"

Sitting in the driver's seat, Qin Yun nodded: "This tricycle is indeed very sturdy and should be able to withstand significant impact."

Qin Xiaoqi's voice came again: "Master, do you need to drive the tricycle yourself?"

"Of course!"

Qin Yun placed Cat Xiaoxiao, who was looking around at everything, to the side, pulled out the seatbelt from the driver's seat, fastened it, and gripped the steering wheel in front of him.

Yes, the upgraded tricycle no longer used handlebars for steering, but a steering wheel with various buttons!

With one-button start, he pressed the energy pedal, and the tricycle began to move forward on the Highway.

Except for firing the ordinary energy-gathering guns, Qin Yun tested all other functions before entering the rear cargo cabin from the side of the driver's seat.

The primary water condenser and water heater were on the left side of the cabin, with a drain in the corner; the induction cooker and small refrigerator were on the right side, and above the middle was a retractable hanging screen.

In the rear half on both sides, there was a fixed long bench seat, each equipped with two seatbelts, with two openable storage compartments underneath.

When full, a sleeping bag could still fit in the middle of the cabin.

...

Qin Yun leaned back against the driver's seat and nodded with satisfaction.

He was very satisfied with the current tricycle!

Cat Xiaoxiao and Qin Xiaoqi were also very satisfied!

One human, one cat, and one AI were all very much looking forward to the next upgrade of the vehicle!

Qin Yun opened the vehicle category on the survivor panel and looked at the conditions for upgrading the tricycle, simultaneously triggering the Eye of Insight.

It required at least one primary device and two ordinary devices installed, as well as an ordinary vehicle blueprint, an ordinary vehicle upgrade stone, 20 units of ordinary iron, 1500 units of any metal, 500 units of energy, and 500 copper coins!

The difficulty had increased quite a bit!

Never mind the blueprint and upgrade stone; he didn't even have any ordinary iron!

The iron blocks dropped from kills only counted as metallic iron, not ordinary iron at all!

As expected, the things with the word "ordinary" in front were actually anything but ordinary!

"Xiaoxiao, Xiao Qi, if we want to upgrade our tricycle, we need to at least install... and we are still missing... and copper coins!"

After saying that, Qin Yun took out the ox horn powder water and took a sip, then poured some into Cat Xiaoxiao's bowl.

After deducting the consumption from just upgrading the electric vehicle, they were now only missing a few dozen copper coins, which could be easily collected!

The main issues were still the blueprint, the upgrade stone, and the ordinary iron!

Blueprints and upgrade stones could be obtained from treasure chests, but what about ordinary iron?

"Master, please rest assured. Given our current situation, we will definitely be able to meet the upgrade conditions in a short time!"

Qin Xiaoqi's confident voice rang out inside the driver's cab.

Cat Xiaoxiao, who was drinking the ox horn powder water, also raised her cat head at this moment and meowed confidently.

She had confidence in her master, and she also had confidence in herself and Qin Xiaoqi.

Qin Yun stroked her head and patted the steering wheel, saying: "Let's set a small goal for ourselves: earn one thousand copper coins today!"

"Xiao Qi will definitely complete the small goal set by Master!"

"Meow meow!"

"Xiaoxiao, Xiao Qi, among the billions of Survivors on Blue Star, we are the first to successfully upgrade an electric vehicle, so we were rewarded with a first electric vehicle upgrade pack!"

While speaking, Qin Yun also took out the first upgrade pack.

"Congratulations, Master. Xiao Qi is so lucky to be able to follow you!"

"Meow meow!"

"It is also my luck to have you both!"

Qin Yun stroked her cat head, stroked the steering wheel, and then continued: "I will open the first electric vehicle upgrade pack first to see what I get!"
