410: Chapter 409 Straight into the Darkness
The moment the System prompt popped up, everyone's expressions changed drastically.
Everyone understood what this meant.
This clearly gave them no chance to leave.
A Mandatory Mission had appeared.
Trying to escape now would be a dead end.
"Damn it, didn't we just finish a mission? Why is it starting again!" Cai Hou jumped back onto a treetop, cursing.
Then, he suddenly looked at Li Na, who was not far below, and said coldly:
"It's all your fault! If you hadn't insisted on pestering me, we would have left long ago. If we had managed to put some distance between us, this Mandatory Mission might not have appeared."
"The System never issues Impossible Missions, which means we can enter that Dark Place! In that case, the Specter that's been following us all along deserves to die!"
Li Na suddenly gave Cai Hou a sinister look, her tone icy. "You should be glad that there isn't much time left for us to return, otherwise, I would kill you right here! You'd better pray that our missions don't conflict later, or you're dead!"
Leaving behind these threatening words, Li Na waved her hand and led the Twin Brothers as they sprinted back first.
This woman... she really seems tired of living! A cold killing intent flashed in Cai Hou's eyes, then he turned to look at Lin Liguo and the others above, a smile instantly appearing on his face:
"Everyone, how about we continue to cooperate? Although the System never issues Impossible Missions, they are extremely dangerous, and one could lose their life at any moment."
"Especially with that crazy woman around, she's very likely to mess things up. I suggest we maintain our offensive and defensive alliance. What does everyone think?"
"Time is short, let's go in and see first." Lin Liguo neither agreed nor disagreed, only looking back at everyone with a grave expression. "Everyone, be careful, don't stray too far from me!"
"Alright!" Everyone nodded in unison.
"You keep up with us too, don't fall behind!" Lin Liguo left these words as he brushed past Chu Xuan without looking back.
Chu Xuan suddenly smiled.
In Lin Liguo, Chu Xuan actually saw a bit of Zhang Qiang's shadow.
However, in comparison, Lin Liguo appeared much more serious.
Without much thought, Chu Xuan followed the group, turning back along the mountain path and heading straight for the spreading Black Mist.
"Well, after running for so long, we end up having to go back obediently anyway." Cai Hou leaped back onto Fat Pig's back, patted his bald head, and asked with a smile, "Do you think we'll make it out alive this time?"
Fat Pig had a simple and honest smile on his face. "I don't know."
"Foolish, can't you say something auspicious?" Cai Hou sneered and pointed forward. "No need to run too fast, just keep up with these Night Watchers; it's safer than being on our own."
"Okay." Fat Pig chuckled. A White Steamed Bun appeared out of thin air in his hand, which he swallowed in one gulp before striding after them.
"They're following us?" Lin Liguo glanced back, his brow furrowed.
Someone immediately asked uneasily, "Brother Lin, what should we do?"
"We'll be facing the Specters together next, so they shouldn't act against us. Let's go in first..." Lin Liguo quickened his pace.
Chu Xuan glanced back indifferently and then paid no more attention, running through the mountain forest with Lin Liguo and the others.
They happened to arrive at the exit of the Qianchuan Tunnel, where the Black Mist had also reached.
"Everyone, be careful!" Lin Liguo warned once more as he stepped inside first, followed closely by the others.
Before stepping in, Wu Wanqiu subconsciously glanced at Chu Xuan.
"Let's go together."
As Chu Xuan spoke calmly, Wu Wanqiu felt an inexplicable sense of peace. She lightly bit her lower lip and entered the Black Mist with him.
The moment they stepped inside, the scene changed instantly.
When he came to his senses, Chu Xuan found that he was already at the foot of a mountain.
