295: Treasure? Strange object!
Deep within Pierpoint's top-secret laboratory, Chen Hao was meticulously studying the seven supreme treasures acquired from the continent of Zemuria.
This laboratory was constructed by Chen Hao using the power of Preservation. Theoretically, unless Nanook or the Machine Head personally visited, it would be impossible to detect or destroy it.
Hidden here, besides the results of some more dangerous research projects, were also some currently unscientific experimental instruments.
Don't ask how they got here; how could the Imaginary Gate be such an inconvenient thing!
The interior of the laboratory was pure white, with various precision instruments neatly arranged.
On the central experimental platform, the seven supreme treasures, each emitting a different light, were placed in a specially designed energy suppression device. Chen Hao, dressed in a white lab coat, was carefully recording experimental data.
"Experiment log entry 127," Chen Hao began his experiment log, "Test subject: phantasmal treasure. Test content: causal interference and reality rewriting capabilities."
"Note: As a supreme treasure surviving self-destruction, this interference factor must be considered in the results."
He activated the experimental device, and a faint light emanated from the phantasmal treasure. Various test items were laid out on the experimental platform, from a simple apple to complex photonic instruments.
"Attempting to modify the causal chain of the photonic instrument: changing the 'cause' from 'photonic instrument production process' to 'gravity detection instrument production process.'"
The phantasmal treasure trembled slightly, then immediately fell silent. Following this, the nameplate of the photonic instrument suddenly changed, but the instrument itself remained unaltered.
"Attempting to modify the causal chain of the apple: changing the 'cause' from 'seed growth' to 'biological tissue culture.'"
The phantasmal treasure vibrated slightly, and subtle ripples appeared on the apple's surface, but it quickly returned to its original state. The instrument displayed: "Causal modification failed, insufficient energy level."
Chen Hao recorded the results: "Maximum interference range: observation of simple causal chains. Can modify reality content not involving its essence, but cannot rewrite the existential nature of real objects."
Next, it was KeA's newly born zero treasure.
"Test subject: zero treasure. Test content: causal interference and reality rewriting capabilities."
After performing the same experiment as with the phantasmal treasure, the results were not significantly different. Even with simultaneous application, there was no noticeable change.
A simple maze model appeared on the experimental platform, and the zero treasure was asked to directly modify the maze structure. After a brief flash of light, the maze only underwent a minor deformation.
"Reality rewriting capability has significantly diminished," Chen Hao recorded, "Currently only capable of making minor adjustments to simple structures; unable to achieve large-scale reality reconstruction."
Evidently, the abilities of the Illusion and Zero supreme treasures to interfere with causality and rewrite reality, while still present, had become negligible in strength.
When testing the Ring of Brilliance, Chen Hao specifically revived an Egg Person.
"Test subject: Ring of Brilliance. Test content: spatial manipulation and reality rewriting capabilities."
After activating the Ring of Brilliance, this supreme treasure, shaped like a golden bracelet, slowly floated up and hovered above the experimental platform. However, that was all it did.
"No anomaly in gravity data, can be considered that the spatial properties have changed," Chen Hao made a preliminary judgment, then activated the Egg Person's consciousness program.
"Read target consciousness, and respond accordingly."
A few golden flashes appeared on the Ring of Brilliance, then it rotated three times. Following this, the temperature of the water in the beaker in the Egg Person's hand began to drop, but it stopped changing after reaching 4 degrees Celsius.
Seeing this, Chen Hao already had the answer in his mind.
In the Egg Person's consciousness program, the superficial thought activity was to see the Ring of Brilliance rotate and then turn the water in his hand into ice, but the deep consciousness wanted to turn the water into diamonds.
Clearly, the Ring of Brilliance could now only read superficial thought activity and could not delve into the subconscious.
"Wish-fulfillment capability has essentially disappeared, retaining basic telepathic functions. Considering that its inherent existence has not yet shown any cessation of energy emission, it can be considered equivalent to a mind-reader requiring no external power source."
What surprised Chen Hao the most was the test of the Giant Black Hammer.
"Test subject: Giant Black Hammer. Test content: material transformation capability, virtual-to-real transformation capability."
Various materials were laid out on the experimental platform: fruit, metal blocks, and even a small piece of diamond.
When Chen Hao activated the Giant supreme treasure to attempt to transform a banana into gold, the device emitted violent energy fluctuations.
"Transformation failed. Maximum transformation capability: 500 grams of banana -> 500 grams of orange. Cooldown time after transformation: 72 hours."
Chen Hao frowned: "Material transformation capability has severely degraded, only capable of simple inter-material transformation, and requires a long cooldown period. Cannot perform virtual-to-real transformation or complex material reconstruction."
As for the remaining supreme treasures, the results were all largely similar.
Their original divine abilities couldn't be said to have vanished, but only a shell remained.
These experimental results plunged Chen Hao into contemplation. He pulled up all the experimental data and began to analyze it.
"All the supreme treasures' abilities have significantly diminished; they feel like they're only at the level of curios," he murmured to himself, "But the energy readings show that their fundamental power hasn't degraded, which is very illogical..."
Just then, Chen Hao decided to employ his Aeon-level perception ability. He closed his eyes, and a faint golden light began to emanate around him, the power of Preservation slowly releasing.
As his perception touched the supreme treasures, something astonishing happened. The seven supreme treasures suddenly emitted dazzling light simultaneously, and powerful, ancient path energies permeated the entire laboratory.
"Aeon-level path power, this hasn't changed," Chen Hao opened his eyes, "Though incomplete and chaotic, it is definitely the fundamental power originating from an Aeon."
"This is consistent with the results I perceived back then."
After obtaining the results, Chen Hao fell into deep thought during his analysis.
The actual experimental results clearly proved that while these supreme treasures still possessed quite peculiar functions, they were completely mismatched with their original powerful abilities.
But one thing was very strange: when he used path power, especially Aeon-level path authority, to perceive these supreme treasures, he could sense a very strong path aura.
Although the specific path concepts could not be distinguished due to their incompleteness and chaotic nature, the almost instinctive resistance proved one thing: the path within these supreme treasures was definitely Aeon-level.
As for whether Aha used Stellaron-level authority to cause trouble, that possibility existed, but it was unlikely that he could achieve this level of effect.
Only a god can contend with a god—this was the answer Chen Hao obtained after gaining half control over The Hunt and The Trailblaze paths. No matter how powerful a Stellaron was, he absolutely did not possess the ability to contend with the weakest Aeon.
This was a conceptual issue.
The strongest among ants cannot defeat the scrawniest rabbit. The strongest rabbit will still end up on a human's dinner table.
"Wait, what if each supreme treasure corresponds to more than one path? Could the conflicts between different paths be the reason for this situation?"
"The Hunt, The Abundance, Preservation, The Elation, The Trailblaze... these paths mixed together led to those peculiar effects."
"On the planet, due to some factor of the Goddess of the Sky, the influence of the paths was weakened, so their effects were highlighted. But after leaving the planet, the intervention of the paths became dominant, and under the conflict of concepts, those abilities were suppressed or even canceled out."
"But that's not right either. If that were the case, then the Goddess of the Sky wouldn't have been able to create life on only one planet, would she?" Chen Hao felt he had found something crucial, but he couldn't grasp it.
After fruitless contemplation, Chen Hao decided to seek help.
He closed his eyes, his consciousness sinking deep within, arriving at a peculiar mental space.
This was his consciousness world, a tranquil lakeside villa area. Chen Hao walked directly to one of the exquisite small villas, unceremoniously kicking open the door.
"Xiao Jixiang, wake up!" he shouted, "I have an urgent matter that needs your external brain!"
