323: Do the Trisolarans have good things?

“New Discovery in the Trisolaris System,” the news headline read, “Mysterious Liquid Found Ten Thousand Meters Underground Can Enhance Brainwave Communication.”

Xia Er’s gaze lingered on the headline for a moment, then he suddenly sat up straight. He immediately clicked on the detailed report, quickly scanning its content, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

The report described in detail how the Trisolarans, while expanding their underground city, discovered a milky white, viscous liquid ten thousand meters beneath the surface.

This liquid, named “life milk,” possessed astonishing biological properties. Not only could it accelerate wound healing, but it also significantly enhanced the Trisolarans' unique brainwave communication and consciousness-sharing abilities.

“This liquid, named ‘life milk’,” the report continued, “appears to stabilize and strengthen consciousness links. Initial tests show that Trisolarans who come into contact with the liquid experience a doubling of brainwave communication distance and a 300% increase in consciousness link stability.”

Xia Er’s eyes lit up. He immediately put down his meal box and hurried back to the lab.

“Everyone!” he said excitedly to his team, “I might have found a solution!”

He immediately projected the news onto the main screen: “Look at this! The Trisolarans have discovered a miraculous liquid that can stabilize and strengthen consciousness links!”

The team gathered around, reading the report carefully. Anderson mused, “If this liquid can stabilize consciousness links, perhaps it can also stabilize memory data?”

“A reasonable inference. Let’s try it.”

“I agree. Let’s apply to the higher-ups and ask the Trisolarans for some samples for experimentation.”

“Alright, I’ll write the report.” Xia Er nodded and began typing.

The application was quickly drafted and sent. To the team’s surprise, a response was received just ten minutes after submission.

A clerk from the Strategic Investment Department contacted them via video communication: “Dr. Xia Er, your application has been received. Upon review, the project you are leading has sub-top priority.”

The clerk’s voice carried a formalized politeness: “The application has been forwarded to Director Emerald for approval. Please wait a moment.”

Just five minutes later, the communicator rang again. This time, a woman of exceptional temperament appeared on the screen. She wore exquisite emerald jewelry, giving off a feeling that could only be described with two words: “mysterious” and “elegant.”

“Dr. Xia Er,” Director Emerald’s voice was calm and strong, “I have reviewed your application. The request complies with the company’s regulations, and I have approved it.”

She leaned forward slightly, her emerald earrings gently swaying: “Additionally, I eagerly anticipate your research results.”

“This is also the Chairman’s intention.”

To be precise, she was also very curious to know if this Xia Er could achieve what they hoped for.

To lay a solid foundation for the company’s Penacony.

Regarding concerns that the Trisolarans might refuse to provide samples, Director Emerald merely smiled faintly: “That possibility is not to be considered. I believe the Trisolarans should be well aware of their position.”

“If they have forgotten the gap between themselves and the company, we don’t mind reminding them how the Luofu Fleet easily crushed their strongest forces back then.”

Less than two hours after the communication ended, a battlecruiser-class spaceship bearing the Interstellar Peace Corporation’s emblem had already arrived in the Trisolaris System.

The spaceship slowly docked at the designated location in the underground city’s spaceport. After the airtight door opened, a team of company operatives in black tactical gear marched out in formation.

The captain leading them had three silver stars on his epaulets, indicating his authority to handle complex diplomatic affairs.

As Director Emerald had anticipated, the Trisolaran leadership had already prepared the life milk samples the company required. Elder Erwin, a conservative faction leader, personally led a delegation to greet them at the spaceport, with a respectful and cooperative attitude.

“Welcome to the Trisolaris System,” Erwin said in fluent company common tongue, “We have prepared the life milk samples and relevant research data as requested.”

The captain nodded slightly, his voice emotionless from behind his mask: “The company appreciates efficient cooperation. Where are the samples?”

Erwin gestured for the technical personnel behind him to step forward. Several conservative Trisolarans pushed a specially designed refrigerated container, its surface covered with a faint layer of frost.

“This is 1000 liters of raw life milk,” Erwin handed over a data chip, explaining in detail, “preserved in optimal active state. Also, this contains all the research data and usage instructions, including extraction process, preservation methods, and safety precautions.”

The captain signaled his team members to receive the samples and chip. The operatives skillfully checked the container’s seal, scanned the sample’s composition, and began loading after confirming everything was in order.

“A wise choice,” the captain said blandly, “The company will not forget the contributions of its cooperators.”

Just as the sample handover was about to be completed, Erwin stepped forward, lowering his voice slightly: “Captain, we have one more request that we hope the company can consider.”

The captain tilted his head slightly: “Speak.”

Erwin cautiously chose his words: “Regarding the life milk, we hope the company can assist in controlling its extraction and use. Ideally, it would be possible to control who gets more of this resource.”

Seeing the captain lower his mask, looking at him with a hint of doubt, he continued to explain: “The radical faction is using life milk for dangerous physical reshaping experiments, which has already led to multiple accidents. We are concerned this will bring catastrophic consequences to the entire Trisolaran Civilization.”

The captain was silent for a moment.

He clearly remembered the instructions in the mission briefing: “If the Trisolarans are sensible, they can be given some bones to appease the dog.” Although this request was beyond his authority, relaying it was within regulations.

“I am not authorized to answer this request, but I will forward it to the Strategic Investment Department,” the captain replied in a businesslike manner, “The company will make an assessment based on its overall interests.”

Erwin visibly relaxed: “Thank you very much. We conservatives firmly believe that cooperation with the company is the correct positioning for the Trisolaran Civilization.”

In return for the Trisolarans’ cooperation, the captain signaled his subordinate to transfer funds: “The company will not take advantage of cooperators. The Construction Materials Logistics Department has priced the life milk according to procedure; it’s a fair transaction.”

“Fifty million credit points have been transferred to your account with the company.”

Erwin bowed respectfully: “Thank you again for the company’s consideration. We conservatives will continue to fully cooperate with all of the company’s demands.”

After the sample handover was completed, the team immediately set off to return. Before the spaceship entered warp, the captain had already reported the situation to the Strategic Investment Department via an encrypted channel.

“Mission accomplished,” the captain reported concisely, “Samples acquired, Trisolaran cooperation good. The conservative faction requested control over life milk extraction, which has been forwarded as per procedure.”

“Received. Wishing you a safe return.”

An hour later, this report, along with other relevant documents, appeared on the Strategic Investment Department’s conference table.
