116: Chapter 116 Haunted Mine?

The Black Stone Mine is located in a stretch of barren mountains fifty miles west of Jiangcheng.

This place used to be one of the largest spirit stone mines in Jiangcheng, but it was abandoned long ago due to a water leakage accident several years ago, coupled with frequent reports of supernatural events later on.

Now, it is overgrown with weeds and filled with jagged rocks; one can barely even hear the chirping of birds.

Gusts of cold wind blew, sweeping up the dead leaves on the ground and making a "rustling" sound, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

An off-road vehicle stopped at the entrance of this dilapidated mine.

"Wow—"

Lin Fan jumped out of the car, looked at the pitch-black mine entrance in front of him, and took a deep breath.

"This smell..."

"Authentic!"

"It smells like a centuries-old zombie that hasn't brushed its teeth."

As soon as Xia Wanqiu got out of the car, the cold wind made her shiver, and she subconsciously leaned closer to Lin Fan.

"Brother Fan, this place... is so eerie."

"Why do I feel like something is staring at us?"

As a healer with keen perception, she was particularly sensitive to this kind of dark, evil aura.

Murong Yan, on the other hand, was very excited.

She pulled her weapon out of the trunk—a flaming zanbato as tall as a person.

"What are you afraid of?"

"Kill one if one comes, kill a pair if two come!"

"It's the perfect opportunity to practice on these ghostly things!"

Lin Fan pulled the heavy sword [Mountain Cracker] that he had swiped from the principal's treasury out of his system space and hoisted it onto his shoulder.

"Let's go!"

"Let's go in and see how many dishes this buffet has!"

The three of them turned on their tactical flashlights and cautiously walked into the mine.

The mine was pitch black, with only the beams of their flashlights swaying.

The ground was littered with scattered ore and discarded tools, and one could even see some dark red bloodstains, though it was unclear whether they were from animals or humans.

"Drip... drip..."

Water droplets kept falling from the ceiling, sounding exceptionally clear in this silent space.

"Ah!"

Xia Wanqiu suddenly exclaimed, pointing at the ceiling.

"What... is that?"

Lin Fan looked up.

He saw rows upon rows of black things hanging densely from the ceiling; they looked like bats, but were several times larger, each one the size of a washbasin.

They were hanging upside down on the rocks, their pairs of scarlet eyes staring fixedly at these three uninvited guests.

[Blood-Sucking Demon Bat (Level 3 Low Rank)]

[Gregarious demonic beast, skilled in ultrasonic attacks and blood-sucking; its teeth carry paralytic toxins.]

"Oh, isn't this our appetizer?"

Lin Fan grinned, and instead of drawing his sword, he spread his arms wide.

"Come, come, little babies!"

"Are you starving?"

"Big brother has plenty of blood here, enough to fill you up!"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk!"

He actually made taunting sounds at the group of Demon Bats as if he were calling a dog.

This move left Xia Wanqiu, who was standing nearby, completely stunned.

Big brother! Those are demonic beasts!

They aren't the pet Teddy you keep at home!

"Squeak—!!!"

Seemingly provoked by Lin Fan's taunting, the lead Demon Bat let out a sharp screech.

The next second.

Whoosh—!

Hundreds and thousands of Demon Bats rushed toward Lin Fan, covering the sky like a black tide.

"Brother Fan, look out!"

Xia Wanqiu's face turned pale with fright, and green light shimmered in her hands as she prepared to cast a shield.

"Don't move!"

Lin Fan shouted, stopping Xia Wanqiu.

"No one is allowed to interfere!"

"These are my exclusive massage therapists!"

As he spoke, the black tide had completely submerged Lin Fan.

Countless sharp fangs pierced his skin and dug fiercely into his flesh.

"Sizzle, sizzle—"

It wasn't the sound of blood gushing out.

Instead, it was the friction sound of biting into a steel plate.

"Awoo—!"

A few Demon Bats that bit too hard broke their teeth and fell down while screaming.

But many more Demon Bats, relying on their sheer numbers, covered Lin Fan's entire body.

From a distance, Lin Fan looked like a savage wearing black fur.

"Refreshing!"

"This is exactly the feeling!"

[Received bite from Blood-Sucking Demon Bat! Defense +50!]

[Received injection of paralytic toxin! Toxicity Immunity triggered! Shock Resistance +20!]

[Received ultrasonic attack! Shock Resistance +30!]

[Triggered Thorn Armor counter-damage! Reflected 200% physical damage!]

"Bang, bang, bang, bang!"

The Demon Bats hanging on Lin Fan suddenly exploded one after another, as if they had bombs inside them.

That was the counter-damage effect of the Thorn Armor!

They bit Lin Fan once, but had to suffer double the damage themselves!

For a moment, flesh and blood flew everywhere.

Lin Fan bathed in the foul-smelling rain of blood, not only not feeling disgusted, but actually looking intoxicated.

"This acupuncture is quite good."

"It's just that the technician's skill level is a bit subpar; why did they explode first?"

"Next batch!"

In less than three minutes.

The ground was already covered with a thick layer of Demon Bat corpses.

The remaining Demon Bats looked at this monster that they couldn't bite no matter what, and which had instead shocked their companions to death, and fear finally appeared in their eyes.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"

They screamed and flapped their wings, trying to escape.

How is this food?

This is clearly a lump of iron covered in thorns!

"Want to run?"

"Did you ask me?"

Lin Fan reached out his big hand, grabbed a slow-flying Demon Bat, and then smashed it hard against the distant rock wall as if throwing a grenade.

"Since you've come, you might as well all stay and farm experience for me!"

"Taunt Aura! Activate!"

Hum—!

An invisible ripple spread out from Lin Fan as the center.

The Demon Bats that had originally wanted to escape paused in their tracks.

Immediately after, their eyes instantly turned blood red, their reason was completely lost, and only one thought remained in their minds:

Kill this show-off!

"Squeak—!!!"

All the Demon Bats turned around and charged at Lin Fan again, regardless of their lives.

"Hahahaha! Well done!"

Lin Fan laughed wildly, charging back and forth through the pile of bats.

This scene left Xia Wanqiu and Murong Yan behind him dumbfounded.

"This is... too perverted, right?"

Murong Yan's mouth twitched.

She had originally wanted to show off her skills.

As a result, she hadn't even drawn her saber, and the battle was almost over?

Is this really coming to do an A-rank mission?

This is clearly Lin Fan bringing them to visit his personal buffet show!

"Um..."

Xia Wanqiu raised her hand weakly.

"Brother Fan, do I... still need to heal you?"

Lin Fan poked his head out from the pile of bats, his face covered in blood, which was, of course, all from the bats.

"No need!"

"This little bit of damage isn't even faster than my health regeneration!"

"You guys just stand there and shout '666'!"

Just as Lin Fan was killing with gusto.

Rumble—!

The entire mine suddenly began to shake violently.

Rubble from the ceiling fell down with a clatter.

An extremely terrifying aura permeated from the depths of the mine.

It was a scent of rot, death, and oppression.

It was more than one level stronger than those Demon Bats from just a moment ago!

"Roar—!!!"

A low roar rang out, making the eardrums of the three of them ache.

Lin Fan kicked away the bat corpse at his feet, and his eyes instantly lit up.

Ten times more excited than before!

"Yo, huh?"

"Is the main course finally on the table?"

In the darkness deep within the mine, two green eyes, as huge as lanterns, lit up.

A massive figure slowly walked out...
