Text To Speech

349: Xu Lu: We live in a prosperous era, and we should live up to it. I share this sentiment with you all!

“Thank you, Director Xu, for your wonderful speech. As the finale speaker for this evening's lecture series, we must interview you a bit more!”

Seeing that Xu Lu's speech had concluded, the Host quickly walked onto the stage.

In fact, Director Xu's speech came as a huge surprise to the organizers.

Everyone had originally thought they were in trouble.

The first six days had gone smoothly, but on this final day, a fiasco occurred: two speakers publicly undermined each other. The consequences were truly unpredictable.

Therefore, the organizers had prepared for the worst-case scenario, perhaps even earning the title of 'Worst Session Ever'.

But as Xu Lu's speech began, the organizers of the lecture series quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Well, although Director Xu's words were sharp and he refused to suffer any losses, at least the content of his speech had some depth.

And the further the speech progressed, the brighter the eyes of the organizers became.

When the final two lines—'Ageless as the heavens, boundless as the nation'—were spoken, everyone completely relaxed.

Everything was fine!

With such a brilliant speech concluding the event, this lecture series was definitely a case of the merits outweighing the flaws.

Furthermore, it was perfectly normal for Director Xu to be young and spirited.

Just like the line in his speech: The red sun rises initially, its light is vast!

Seeing that Xu Lu was preparing to step off the stage, the Host hurriedly rushed forward and spoke first to keep him there.

Other speakers could be let go; after all, most people couldn't understand those engineering topics—they were too specialized.

However, almost everyone present understood Director Xu's speech; it resonated deeply with the audience.

The Host naturally had to interview him a bit more; such an opportunity was rare.

Hearing this, Xu Lu naturally stopped.

A quick interview was fine. Since he had been standing on stage for so long anyway, a little extra time didn't matter.

The Host wasted no time and immediately spoke with a smile:

“Director Xu, you certainly gave us a big surprise today. Your speech was truly full of passion and vigor.

Standing below the stage, we felt our blood boiling, wishing we could go out and achieve something great immediately... So, Director Xu, what circumstances led you to choose this particular theme for your speech?”

Hearing this question, Xu Lu raised an eyebrow and suddenly said:

“Uh... Do you all want to hear the truth or a lie?”

As soon as he said this, the audience, who had been waiting expectantly, burst into laughter, and the atmosphere instantly livened up.

Only then did everyone remember that Director Xu started his career filming comedies; his sense of humor was truly remarkable.

The Host was also amused. After a moment's thought, he spoke on behalf of the audience:

“Director Xu, since you put it that way, just to be safe, let's hear the lie first!”

“A lie? Alright!”

Xu Lu nodded and said earnestly:

“As a director, standing here today and seeing so many young students, I was infected by this youthful atmosphere.

I feel as though I've seen a magnificent future, witnessed the boundless energy, vitality, and vigor contained within all of you.

With so many outstanding young people in this era, the future of our Great Xia is equally promising, and our rise is imminent... How fortunate we are to be born in Great Xia, to live in a prosperous age, and we must not fail this prosperity. I share this sentiment with all of you!”

The moment his voice fell silent, applause echoed throughout the venue.

The organizers all nodded, their expressions showing immense satisfaction.

The Host was also smiling, preparing to ask the next question.

As for the 'truth or lie' matter, they could temporarily set that aside.

After all, if the 'lie' sounded so good, there was no need to hear the 'truth'.

However, to everyone's surprise, before the Host could even speak, Xu Lu suddenly continued:

“As for the truth, I simply couldn't stand the pompous old-fashioned attitude of that Master Zhuang, which is why I changed the topic.

I believe everyone knows this. Look, my previous speech manuscript is still tossed right here...”

When these words came out, everyone present was stunned.

The Host was utterly aghast and quickly tried to salvage the situation, saying:

“Oh, Director Xu, Director Xu, I hadn't even asked you yet! Why did you just speak on your own?”

“Really? I can even answer before the question is asked. Isn't that good?”

Xu Lu, however, spread his hands with an innocent expression.

The audience, knowing exactly what he was thinking, collectively offered a few seconds of silent mourning for Master Zhuang:

“Master Zhuang probably never expected to provoke such a vengeful person, did he?”

“Yeah, even now, he's still stabbing him a few times. Master Zhuang probably feels like dying.”

“Hahahaha, Director Xu is truly Director Xu. This is hilarious, he even knows how to answer before the question is asked!”

“He did it on purpose, it's too funny, but it's also quite real—he really did toss his speech manuscript.”

...[Director Xu is truly a model of instant revenge. He never forgets to stab Master Zhuang whenever the opportunity arises.]

[No choice, Master Zhuang was the one who acted improperly first. If he hadn't caused trouble initially, would Director Xu have gone after him?]

[Exactly! You could say that this outcome is entirely due to Master Zhuang seeking death. No trouble, no death!]

[The Host guarded against everything, but didn't guard against Director Xu answering before the question was asked. Judging by his expression, he must be full of regret now, right?]

...[Heh heh, I'm not surprised at all that Director Xu would do something like this.]

[Exactly! If you ask me, Master Zhuang should admit his mistake and find peace sooner, otherwise, there might be a second half!]

[A second half? That shouldn't happen. Master Zhuang is, after all, a figure in the literary field.

Even if Director Xu is sharp, he probably can't do much against Master Zhuang in the literary sphere.]

[For others, maybe not, but for Director Xu, I think we'll have to wait and see.]

...The fans in the live stream chat were also immensely entertained, and the comment section immediately erupted.

However, there were also people who were not in a good mood.

For instance, our Master Zhuang, upon hearing these words, nearly spat out a mouthful of old blood.

Is there no end to this, you brat?

All I did was offer you a few pointers as an elder at the beginning. Do you really have to cling to this and refuse to let go?

No manners, absolutely no manners!

I must teach this brat a lesson and let him know that a Literary Master cannot be slighted!

Master Zhuang's face was ashen, and he glared as he began thinking of a way... Meanwhile, Director Xu's two answers, the 'truth' and the 'lie', completely startled the Host.

He secretly thought that this man was not as harmless as he looked.

We better not keep him on stage, lest he cause another fiasco.

So, after the Host exchanged a few polite words, Director Xu finally concluded his speech for the day.

Although he had to temporarily change his manuscript midway because Master Zhuang caused trouble, Xu Lu himself felt quite satisfied.

The essay “the young man - ode to china” not only slapped Master Zhuang in the face but also perfectly fit the theme of today's lecture.

In fact, once the broadcast footage went out, Xu Lu's speech quickly caused a sensation online.

Especially those inspiring golden phrases, which instantly became wildly popular across the entire network.
