28: Chapter 28 Do you have some kind of feeling about me?

After a few seconds of silence, Wang Yang spoke up.

"By the way, how long have you been working at that down jacket shop?"

Su Xincheng looked up.

"A little over half a year. I've been there since I graduated."

"Do you like it?"

"It's alright, I guess."

Su Xincheng thought for a moment.

"The salary isn't very high, but there's no helping it, I just graduated after all."

Wang Yang nodded.

"How much do you make a month?"

Su Xincheng hesitated for a moment but decided to say it.

"The base salary is 3,500, plus commission. When things are good, I can make over 5,000; when they're bad, it's around 4,000."

Wang Yang raised an eyebrow.

Over 4,000. In Yuntian City, after rent, food, and transportation, there wouldn't be much left at the end of the month.

He looked at her and suddenly asked, "If there were an opportunity for you to earn more a month, would you be interested?"

Su Xincheng was taken aback.

"What kind of opportunity?"

Wang Yang smiled, not answering directly.

"Let's talk about it in a bit."

Su Xincheng was a bit curious, but it didn't feel right to press him for an answer.

Just then, the food arrived.

A large platter of seafood was served, with lobster, oysters, scallops, and arctic surf clams, arranged beautifully.

Two portions of Wagyu beef sizzled, the aroma drifting straight to her nose.

The grilled lobster was golden and tempting, and the truffle mushroom soup was steaming.

Su Xincheng looked at the table, her eyes lighting up.

Wang Yang picked up his knife and fork, cut a piece of Wagyu, and put it in his mouth.

"Eat, don't just stare."

Su Xincheng nodded, picked up her knife and fork, and cut a small piece of beef.

The moment it entered her mouth, her eyes narrowed.

Delicious. Too delicious.

The beef was so tender it melted in her mouth, the aroma of meat and fat exploding on her palate.

She also tasted the lobster; the meat was fresh, sweet, and firm. Dipped in sauce, the taste was incredible.

Su Xincheng couldn't help but say while eating, "This is just too delicious. I've never had such good steak before…"

Wang Yang watched her satisfied expression and smiled.

"If you like it, eat more. We can order more if it's not enough."

Su Xincheng hurriedly shook her head.

"It's enough, really. I can't even finish this."

The two chatted as they ate.

Wang Yang asked her a few things—where she was from, what school she graduated from, and what she liked to do in her free time.

Su Xincheng answered them one by one, her voice clear and crisp, a smile on her face.

Gradually, she wasn't so nervous anymore.

Sunlight streamed in from outside the window, landing on her face and making her skin look rosy and fair.

Her eyebrows were curved, and when she smiled, there was a shallow dimple on her right cheek.

Wang Yang watched her, feeling very satisfied.

Pure, clean, easy to talk to. A girl like this wouldn't be hard to win over.

The meal lasted nearly two hours.

When they finished, Wang Yang paid the bill—over 3,800.

Upon hearing the number, Su Xincheng was shocked again.

3,800—her monthly salary. Wang Yang paid without even blinking.

The two walked out of the restaurant into the beautiful afternoon sun.

Wang Yang turned to look at her.

"Where do you want to go this afternoon? I'll take you."

Su Xincheng thought for a moment.

"I… I have to go back to work."

Wang Yang smiled.

"You took time off, why go back to work? Let's go, I'll take you out for a stroll."

Su Xincheng was taken aback.

"Stroll? Stroll where?"

Wang Yang opened the car door.

"Get in, we'll talk about it."

The scene shifted.

The black X5M drove steadily down the street.

The afternoon sun shone through the windows, casting a warm glow on both of them.

The car smelled faintly of leather, mixed with the crisp scent of Wang Yang's body wash—it smelled lovely.

Su Xincheng sat in the passenger seat, watching the streetscape flash by outside the window, but her mind was in turmoil.

She snuck a glance at Wang Yang.

He was focused on the road ahead, his side profile sharply defined, a subtle smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

One hand gripped the steering wheel, the other rested on the gear shifter, casual and composed.

Good-looking. He was truly good-looking.

Not the kind of stunning handsome, but the kind that grew on you, the more you looked, the more appealing he became.

Su Xincheng recalled the words from the restaurant.

"If there were an opportunity for you to earn more a month, would you be interested?"

What kind of opportunity was he talking about?

She wasn't a naive little girl; four years of college and half a year of work, she had seen plenty.

When a man treats you to dinner, gives gifts, and drives a nice car, what else could he be after?

But she wasn't sure. After all, that day at the shop, he had that beautiful girlfriend with him.

Su Xincheng bit her lip, her mind racing.

Wang Yang glanced at her occasionally, taking in all her conflicted little expressions, but he didn't point them out.

The curve of his mouth deepened slightly. He knew what she was thinking. And he knew, it wouldn't be long now.

Ten minutes later, the car drove into the underground parking lot of a Shopping Mall.

The lights were dim, and the parking spaces were mostly empty. Wang Yang found a spot in a corner, parked, and turned off the engine.

Everything went quiet, save for the occasional sound of cars in the distance.

Su Xincheng's heart suddenly began to race.

She gripped her seatbelt, her fingers tightening slightly.

After a few seconds of silence, she suddenly turned her head to look at Wang Yang.

"Mr. Wang."

Wang Yang looked at her.

"Hmm?"

Su Xincheng took a deep breath and gathered the courage to ask, "Do… do you have any intentions towards me?"

The question was direct, and she startled herself, her face instantly flushing red.

But she couldn't help it. Guessing back and forth was too painful; it was better to just ask clearly.

Wang Yang was taken aback, then smiled.

He looked at Su Xincheng, his gaze open and honest, without the slightest hint of evasion.

"Yes."

One word. Su Xincheng's heart skipped a beat.

Wang Yang continued, his voice calm but filled with an undeniable seriousness.

"I want you to be my woman."

Su Xincheng's mind buzzed.

"Actually, from the moment I first saw you, I liked you."

His voice continued, low and gentle, like a feather lightly brushing against her heart.

"That day at the shop, you were wearing your uniform, your hair in a ponytail, talking to me with a smile. I thought, this girl is so pretty, so clean. How wonderful it would be if I could have her."

Su Xincheng's face turned beet red.

She lowered her head, her eyelashes trembling violently, her fingers clutching the hem of her clothes, not knowing what to say.

Liked? Liked her from the first time?

She opened her mouth, and after a long time, managed to squeeze out, "But, but don't you have a girlfriend? That lady the other day…"

Wang Yang smiled.

"She is not my girlfriend."

Su Xincheng was stunned and looked up at him.

Wang Yang looked at her, his gaze calm.

"She is my woman, but not the only one."

The words were direct, with no attempt to hide anything.

Su Xincheng froze.

Not the only one? That meant… he had other women?

A complicated mix of emotions suddenly surged in her heart.

Surprise, panic, but also a trace of something indescribable—an expectation.

How could a rich man like him have only one woman?

Su Xincheng lowered her head, remaining silent.

Wang Yang didn't rush her; he just leaned back in his seat and waited.

After a while, Su Xincheng looked up, her expression complicated.

"Mr. Wang, I…"

She paused, biting her lip.

"My family's situation isn't very good. It wasn't easy for my parents to put me through college, and I have a younger brother. When I go home for the New Year, they will definitely ask me how much I earn and if I have a partner."

As she spoke, her eyes turned slightly red.

"I don't want to disappoint them."

Wang Yang looked at her, understanding everything.

It seemed things were almost done. Only the final step remained.

He reached out and gently took her hand.

Su Xincheng's body trembled, but she didn't pull away.

"Be my woman."
