46: Chapter 46 Buying Gold
"Accompany me out to buy some New Year's goods."
Zhao Yaqin nodded.
"Okay."
Wang Yang smiled and pecked her lips again.
"Then go change your clothes; I'll wait for you."
Blushing, Zhao Yaqin got out of his arms and turned to walk toward the bedroom.
After taking two steps, she turned back to look at him.
"Wait for me for a moment."
Wang Yang smiled and nodded.
Ten minutes later.
The bedroom door opened.
Zhao Yaqin walked out.
Wang Yang looked up and was stunned.
She had changed into a black turtleneck knitted dress, a slim-fit style that tightly wrapped around her body.
It outlined the curves of her waist and hips vividly.
The hem of the dress reached just below her knees, revealing a section of her fair calves.
She wore a camel-colored long cashmere coat over it.
It was open and swayed as she walked.
The belt was tied loosely, making her waist appear even slimmer.
On her feet was a pair of black ankle boots with low heels, yet they made her look even more upright.
Her hair was let down, swaying gently on her shoulders.
Her face had light makeup, her lips were rosy, and her eyes were gentle.
Wang Yang stared blankly.
Zhao Yaqin felt embarrassed by his gaze and lowered her head.
"What's wrong... does it not look good?"
Wang Yang walked over and stood in front of her.
He reached out and lifted her chin.
"It looks good."
His voice was low.
"It looks too good."
Zhao Yaqin blushed.
Wang Yang lowered his head and kissed her again.
Zhao Yaqin was kissed until she couldn't breathe, clutching his lapels with both hands, her whole body softening in his arms.
After a long while, Wang Yang finally let her go.
Zhao Yaqin quickly pushed him away, took out a small mirror from her bag, and checked herself.
Then she glared at Wang Yang.
"It's all your fault! My lipstick is smudged!"
Wang Yang smiled.
"If it's smudged, it's smudged. We're going to eat later anyway."
Zhao Yaqin blushed and lightly punched him.
"You, you're so bad... all you know how to do is bully me all day."
Wang Yang smiled and took her hand.
"Let's go, if we don't leave now, the Shopping Mall will close."
Zhao Yaqin was pulled by him as they walked out, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl up.
The scene shifted.
The Shopping Mall was bustling with people, and the atmosphere of the Lunar New Year in the twelfth lunar month was very strong.
Red lanterns hung from the ceiling, and people were everywhere buying New Year's goods.
Zhao Yaqin linked her arm with Wang Yang's, walking by his side.
Dressed like this, she had a high turning rate in the crowd.
Several men passed by and couldn't help but take an extra look.
Wang Yang sensed it, reached out to wrap his arm around her waist, and pulled her closer to him.
Zhao Yaqin felt sweet inside and leaned in closer.
The two walked to the entrance of a gold jewelry store.
The store was brightly lit, and the counters were filled with golden jewelry.
A few customers were selecting items, and the Shop Clerk was introducing them enthusiastically.
Wang Yang stopped.
Zhao Yaqin was stunned for a moment.
"Why are we here?"
Wang Yang looked at her.
"To buy some gold for my mother."
Zhao Yaqin nodded.
"It's only right..."
Wang Yang continued.
"And for you."
Zhao Yaqin was stunned.
"Me... for me?"
Wang Yang smiled.
"What, you don't want it?"
Zhao Yaqin blushed and lowered her head.
"I, I'm not anyone to you."
Wang Yang reached out and pinched her cheek.
"You are my woman."
Zhao Yaqin's face turned even redder.
She bit her lip and said softly.
"How about I buy it for your mother?"
Wang Yang was stunned for a moment.
Zhao Yaqin looked up at him.
"I'll buy her a bracelet or something. Just consider it my small gesture..."
Wang Yang looked at her, and his heart suddenly warmed.
He reached out and pulled her into his arms.
"Sister Yaqin, how could it be your turn to buy?"
Zhao Yaqin leaned in his arms, not speaking.
Wang Yang let her go and took her hand.
"Let's go, let's go in."
The two walked into the store.
A Saleswoman in a black uniform immediately greeted them with a warm smile on her face.
"Welcome, what would you two like to see?"
Wang Yang scanned the counter.
"Bracelets. Bring out a few good ones for us to see."
The Saleswoman's eyes lit up, and she nodded quickly.
"Okay, okay, sir, please come this way. We just received a new batch, all pure gold, with excellent craftsmanship."
She led them to the counter and took out several bracelets, placing them on a tray.
"Look at this one, ancient gold craftsmanship, matte texture, it really shows off one's temperament. This hollow-out style is very suitable for young ladies. And this dragon and phoenix bracelet, used for weddings, has a very good meaning..."
Wang Yang looked at Zhao Yaqin.
"Which one do you like?"
Zhao Yaqin looked at the bracelets, a bit dazzled.
"They, they all look quite good."
Wang Yang smiled.
"Then let's try them all."
He pointed to a few.
"This one, this one, and that one, take them out for her to try."
The Saleswoman quickly took them out and helped Zhao Yaqin put them on.
Zhao Yaqin had thin wrists and fair skin, and the gold looked exceptionally good on her.
Wang Yang looked on, very satisfied.
"I'll take all of these."
Zhao Yaqin was stunned.
"All of them?"
Wang Yang nodded.
"Yeah. You look good in all of them."
The Saleswoman couldn't stop smiling.
"Sir, you have such a great eye! These are all our store's bestsellers, and your girlfriend really looks amazing wearing them!"
Wang Yang looked at the counter again.
"Bring out a few others."
He pointed.
"This one, this one, and that one, wrap them up."
The Saleswoman's eyes lit up.
"Okay, okay!"
She wrapped them up quickly, her hands shaking.
There were a few other couples looking at jewelry nearby.
A woman was trying on a bracelet, and the man was looking at the price tag, his expression a bit ugly.
The woman saw Wang Yang's side, and her eyes went straight.
"Honey, look at them, they bought so much."
The man took a look, and his face turned even darker.
"What does it have to do with me that they have money?"
The woman pouted.
"I want it too..."
The man whispered.
"This month's salary hasn't been paid yet, let's talk after it's paid."
The woman's face fell.
Another couple was also looking.
The woman tried on a small ring and asked the man.
"Does it look good?"
The man nodded.
"It looks good."
The woman looked at the price, over two thousand.
"How about this one?"
The man didn't say anything.
The woman sighed, took off the ring, and returned it to the Shop Clerk.
The two left silently.
Zhao Yaqin watched this scene, her heart suddenly feeling complicated.
She looked at Wang Yang.
He was standing in front of the counter, pointing at a bracelet and talking to the Shop Clerk.
His side profile was very handsome, his eyes earnest.
She thought of the past.
In the past, she was always alone during the New Year.
Her daughter had her own life and wouldn't accompany her shopping.
Even less would anyone buy her gold.
What about now?
She was wearing new clothes, and on her wrist was the newly bought gold bracelet.
Standing by her side was a man willing to spend money on her.
Zhao Yaqin's mouth slowly curled into a smile.
It's really good.
Wang Yang swiped his card and took the several bags.
One bag was for his mother, a large gold bracelet.
The other bags were for Zhao Yaqin.
And also for Chen Xuemiao, Wen Yulan, and Su Xincheng.
One for each, leaving no one out.
