50: Chapter 50 Wolverine and Storm
Jean roared and jumped in front of her friends: "Didn't you say you wouldn't hurt Mutants?"
"I haven't yet, have I? But my patience for tonight is running thin." He growled.
Felicia sneered: "Did Spider-Man do this?"
She looked at the wounds on Magneto.
"Superior race, my ass!"
"Insolent brat!"
Magneto ripped off a chunk of concrete and rebar, hurling it at Felicia.
The silver-haired girl ducked, but the concrete stopped in mid-air. Jean raised her hands, shielding her friends with all her might.
"You. Are. Not. Allowed. To. Touch. Them!"
She roared, hurling the concrete back.
With a thought, Magneto deflected it.
"If you want to protect these pests, then die with them!"
He slowly pulled several steel bars from the wall, aiming them at Jean and the girls.
Just as Magneto prepared to fire, thunder suddenly roared in the sky.
"You are not allowed to hurt them!"
A voice rang out, and a fierce wind suddenly picked up. The clear night sky was instantly covered in dark clouds, and rain poured down.
Magneto looked up and growled: "Not now."
A woman in a tight black suit and cape descended on the wind. Her hair was snow-white, and her skin was as deep as chocolate. Her eyes flashed with electricity, and the howling wind swirled around her without moving her an inch.
"Stop immediately, Magneto, or we will stop you."
"We?" he asked.
Suddenly, the door to Jean's room was kicked completely off its hinges, and a broad-shouldered man in an orange and black bodysuit walked in. He looked ferocious, wearing a mask with V-shaped black goggles.
"Hey, bub! Long time no see!"
The man roared and spread his hands, three metal claws extending from each.
Magneto turned his head and growled: "Logan, it's good to see you again."
"Yeah, you got away last time. I guarantee that won't happen this time, bub." He sneered.
"I doubt that, metal man." Magneto scoffed, "Charles, is this all you've got? A Beast and a firefly? I'm practically insulted."
"My students are more than enough to handle you, Eric."
A calm British voice came from inside Jean's room.
A bald man in a wheelchair slowly rolled into the already crowded bedroom.
The man looked at Magneto, then narrowed his eyes to observe the wounds on him.
"You are wounded, Eric."
"Yes."
"You've lost too much blood, Eric. Stop immediately, and we can resolve this another way, old friend." The bald man pleaded.
"No, Charles, we cannot." Magneto roared.
"What the hell are you guys doing?!" Liz Allan shouted.
The bald man turned to the girls and smiled: "Miss Allan, I am very sorry that you, Miss Watson, and Miss Hardy have been dragged into this. Please rest assured, we will never let him hurt you again."
"Who are you?" Jean asked, "What the hell are you doing in my house?!"
"Jean, I am Professor Charles Xavier." The man nodded, "You may not have heard of me—"
"You are the leading expert in the field of Mutants, you wrote 'Evolution of Mutants'!"
Felicia narrowed her eyes.
"What are you doing here?"
Charles blinked in surprise: "Miss Hardy, I'm quite surprised you know that book. Yes, I am the leading expert in the field of Mutants, but I am also a Mutant myself."
The girls gasped.
"Peter will absolutely go crazy." Mary Jane whispered.
"Enough!"
Magneto's face was growing paler and paler.
"Move, Charles, or I'll make you move myself! Don't test my patience tonight!"
"No, Eric, I will not move."
Charles stood firmly in front of the girls.
"Wolverine, Storm, please."
"With pleasure, Professor."
Storm whipped up a fierce wind, rushing toward Magneto, forcing him to close his eyes.
"Get out, Magneto! You are not welcome here!"
She pushed her hands forward, and a bolt of lightning crashed down.
"You don't even have the qualifications to challenge me, woman!"
Magneto shouted, lifting a piece of concrete to block the lightning. The concrete shattered instantly.
Wolverine leapt out of the large hole in the wall, his claws flashing.
Magneto waved his hand, and he instantly froze in mid-air.
"Sending someone made entirely of metal to deal with me? Charles, have you lost your mind?"
He threw Wolverine at Storm, and Storm quickly caught him with the wind.
"I will crush you all!"
Magneto roared and rose into the air, confronting Storm.
"You must submit to me tonight, Charles! I will not stop until—"
"Oh, shut up!"
Peter roared and landed on the roof of Jean's house. He grabbed an EMP gun and threw it over.
"Eat shit, you asshole!"
"You!"
Magneto turned his head and raised his hand to catch the gun.
"You think this piece-of-junk toy can save you?!"
He squeezed his hands, crushing the EMP gun.
Suddenly, a surge of electrical energy exploded, enveloping Magneto in an energy shockwave.
He looked bewildered, then plummeted like a puppet with its strings cut.
He screamed as he fell, making a crisp sound upon Impact. His right leg bent at an eerie angle; the bone was broken.
Peter jumped off the roof and landed in Jean's yard.
Magneto struggled to get up, wailing in pain as he looked at his broken leg. The sound was shrill; Peter almost pitied him.
Almost.
Peter walked toward Magneto, then turned to look at the girls and Charles Xavier. Everyone slowly walked out of the damaged house and into the yard. Wolverine and Storm landed beside them, all eyes fixed on Peter.
The rain poured down, and thunder rolled.
Peter felt the rain soaking through his entire body; his helmet was soaked, and his bleeding forearm stung from the rain.
"You must be wondering right now why your powers failed."
Peter lowered his voice, though everyone could surely hear him.
"It's simple. That 'toy' you just crushed was a modified EMP gun. It didn't release a normal EMP, but a reverse electromagnetic interference that completely disrupted the magnetic field around you."
"Your powers are still working, but now you can't reach any metal."
Peter reached into his utility belt and took out a pair of bronze brass knuckles, sliding them onto both hands.
Magneto tried to crawl away in terror.
Peter grabbed him by the collar and lifted him up.
"Remember this, you executioner cloaked in the guise of a victim. Just because you have one extra gene in your blood, it doesn't mean you're superior to anyone else."
He swung his fist at Magneto's helmet.
