56: Chapter 56 Thor
Steve landed in front of Loki's energy beam, using his shield to deflect it back. Peter landed on a lamppost, watching Steve stand in front of the crowd. Steve straightened his body slowly, while Loki began to crawl up.
Peter took out his phone and started recording. This was a fucking historical moment!
"You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everyone else, we didn't see eye to eye," Steve smiled.
"A soldier, a man out of time," Loki chuckled.
"I'm not a man out of time," Steve pointed behind him.
Natasha circled back in the jet, her machine gun aimed at Loki: "Loki, drop the weapon and cease resistance."
Loki rolled his eyes, swung his scepter, and fired an energy beam. Natasha dodged it quickly. Captain America rushed forward and threw his shield.
Peter stuck his phone to the lamppost to keep recording. Time to make some extra cash!
Loki attacked Captain America, but it was easily blocked. The Asgardian swung the scepter upward, sending Steve flying.
"Woo-hoo!" Peter shouted. Loki turned his head, his pupils contracting. Peter kicked him hard in the stomach with both feet and used the momentum to spring away.
Loki tried to get up, but Peter fired several of his strongest Webbing shots, pinning him firmly to the ground.
Loki roared: "What are you?!"
Peter shrugged: "Haven't you heard? I'm Spider-Man." As soon as he finished speaking, his Spider-Sense went haywire. He lunged to the side, and Loki's scepter pierced the spot where he had just been standing.
Peter turned around and found Loki standing behind him using an illusion, looking surprised. Peter jumped into the fight, dodged the scepter, and punched Loki in the face.
Loki was forced back, rubbing his bruised face: "I admit, you are one of the most agile warriors I have ever encountered."
Steve walked over to Peter: "Did you hear that, Spider? He likes you."
"Oh, sorry, Horns, but I prefer women." Peter fired two web grenades.
"Enough!" Loki roared, blowing apart the Webbing and firing an energy beam at the two of them. Peter and Captain America dodged to the side. Steve rushed forward, deflected the scepter with his shield, and kicked Loki in the stomach.
The Asgardian roared and thrust forward, but was blocked by Captain America. Peter leaped over Captain America, aiming both palms at Loki's face, his Repulsor Cannon charging up with energy.
"Come on, catch this!" Peter fired two energy beams, blasting Loki away and knocking the scepter from his hand.
The two walked forward. Loki crawled up slowly, his helmet shattered and his clothes tattered. He glared at Peter: "Spider-Man."
"The one and only, don't strain your voice." Peter raised his Repulsor Cannon again. His Spider-Sense exploded again.
"Look out, Captain!" Peter shouted, tackling Steve to the ground as two throwing knives whizzed past where their heads had just been.
"Tsk!" Loki cursed, grabbing the scepter and aiming it at them.
"Back off!" Captain America shouted, raising his shield in front of them. Loki's energy beam slammed into the shield, sending them flying.
Loki seemed ready to run, and just as Peter and Captain America were about to pursue, AC/DC's "Shoot to Thrill" suddenly blared out. Peter smiled; he had finally arrived.
Iron Man descended from the sky, blasting Loki to the ground with two Repulsor Cannon shots, then landed, all his weapons activated and aimed at Loki.
Loki looked at him, then at them. Peter sighed and slowly lowered his hands. Loki's golden armor and cape vanished, and he put down the scepter.
"Mr. Stark." Captain America nodded.
Iron Man turned his head and nodded: "Captain."
Peter quickly used reinforced Webbing to bind Loki's hands and grabbed the long scepter: "Damn, this thing is amazing! It's like a magic wand. You're a wizard, Loki!"
Iron Man and Captain America exchanged glances.
"This is the guy who defeated Magneto?" Tony asked sarcastically.
Captain America shrugged: "That's what his file says."
Peter curled his lip.
They escorted Loki onto the jet and flew back to headquarters. Natasha notified Fury. The Director was satisfied with the successful capture but remained extremely cautious.
On the plane, Tony took off his helmet and turned to stare at Peter, his gaze sweeping from the helmet to the Arc Reactor on his chest. His eyes widened.
"Is that my technology?" Tony's voice appeared clearly shocked for the first time.
Peter looked down: "An improved version."
"You have my technology? Agent Romanoff, when did S.H.I.E.L.D. start stealing cutting-edge tech?" Tony turned to Natasha.
"We didn't steal anything, Stark," Natasha smiled, locking eyes with Tony, "He built it himself."
Tony looked completely confused. ??
"He built it himself," Natasha replied, "Spider, how long did it take you to crack his technology?"
Peter shrugged: "About two months. The Repulsor Cannon took half that time." He opened his palm to demonstrate the technology.
Tony gasped: "Two months? The smartest people in the World have spent years and haven't figured out my technology, and you did it in two months?"
"I had a physical object to dismantle and study; it wasn't that hard."
"Oh? Where did you get the physical object?"
"Stark Expo," Peter sat in his seat, "When the Hammer drones were busy attacking my friends, I shot down a few and salvaged some useful parts."
"You built this using Hammer's technology? How has it not exploded yet?"
Peter rolled his eyes, though Tony couldn't see it. "I made some improvements. It won't explode. The lifespan of the palladium core is three times the original; it won't need replacing anytime soon."
"How did you—" Tony's words were interrupted by thunder outside the window.
Captain America noticed Loki shrinking back in fear: "What's wrong? Afraid of lightning?"
"No, but I do not like what comes next." As soon as Loki finished speaking, a loud bang came from the top of the plane.
"Tony, helmet on." Peter activated his Repulsor Cannon. He knew what was about to happen, but he had to put on a show.
Tony opened the hatch. "What are you doing?!" Steve shouted.
A tall, blonde man wearing grey-silver armor, holding a giant hammer in one hand, and wearing a blood-red cape around his neck, stepped into the cabin.
"Blondie, nice cape." Peter fired two Repulsor Cannon blasts, blasting him straight out of the plane. He paused for a moment. Huh, I thought he would dodge. He turned to look at Tony and Steve: "Done."
"Ah!" Thor flew back in. Peter's Spider-Sense screamed wildly, but he didn't have time to dodge. Thor punched him in the stomach, sending Peter flying into the cockpit, shattering the windshield. His ribs broke instantly.
"Spider-Man!" Natasha shouted, quickly pulling him down from the window.
"Spider-Man!" Iron Man also shouted. Peter squinted through the pain and saw Thor untie Loki and fly out.
"Are you okay?" Steve ran over and pulled him off the control panel.
"I-I'm fine," Peter coughed, "Just a scratch."
"That bastard!" Iron Man roared and flew out.
"Stark! Wait!" Steve roared, then turned to Natasha, "Can you take care of him?"
Natasha nodded: "Yes, but you don't want to fight these guys, Captain. They come from legends; they are basically gods."
"There is only one God, Ma'am," Steve put on a parachute, "And I'm pretty sure He doesn't dress like that." He jumped out of the plane.
"Damn, they get all the fun," Peter groaned, slowly standing up, but suddenly felt a wave of dizziness. His head started spinning. "Nat, I think that punch from Thor was heavier than I thought."
"Spider? Spider?!"
Peter fell forward, losing consciousness. The sound of Natasha calling his name was the last thing he heard.
