116: A divine move

The target chosen by the Mask Clan Shaman after being revealed was naturally the Rock Giant Centipede.

With both sides' cards revealed, the action phase officially began.

Wang Ji's objective was clear: prioritize killing the Rock Giant Centipede.

Moreover, if he revealed one more regular card next turn, he would have enough conditions to trigger Stun with 5 attacks.

But the premise was...

The premise was that the Cyber Boxer needed to be fully charged this turn.

"LV1 Charge: Restores 10 energy to 1 card. (T1)"

So Wang Ji played this card.

The Cyber Boxer would attack once this turn, and with the charge from the hand card, he would reach 20/20 energy, enough to unleash Double Strike.

Next, both sides' cards exchanged basic attacks.

Wang Ji's 3 cards dealt 30+30+30 = 90 damage to the Rock Giant Centipede.

Shi Li's 2 cards dealt 20+40 = 60 damage to the Cyber Boxer.

In terms of damage taken, Shi Li was slightly at a disadvantage.

However, just then, Shi Li pulled out a hand card from his pocket.

"LV2 Healing: Restores 40 HP to 1 card. (T5)"

+40

The hand card transformed into a beam of light and entered the giant centipede's body, and a green number popped up above its head.

"..."

Wang Ji's expression was not good.

He knew this card game wouldn't be that simple.

But it was fine; he still had a backup plan.

After this turn, the damage taken by both sides was as follows:

Rock Giant Centipede: 200/250 (3/10 Stun)

Cyber Boxer: 40/100

Turn 3 arrived, and this time Shi Li was the first to reveal his last card.

"Look! Look!"

As the card was revealed, an ugly green-skinned dwarf walked out.

Despicable Goblin

Wise, 20 points, Two-star

Attack 20, 100/100, 40/40

"Flash of Inspiration - Passive: Despicable Goblin's energy cap +10"

"Sand Toss - 20 Energy: Despicable Goblin selects 1 target, causing it to fall into Blindness status (T2)"

(Blindness: Cannot select a target this turn)

The Despicable Goblin's entry had changed slightly.

After all, Shi Li had acquired so many material cards during this period, and not all of them were sold.

He used a few useful ones to strengthen his own deck.

Not only did the Despicable Goblin gain a new optional entry, but the Rock Giant Centipede's previous +130 HP limit was also increased to the limit of a two-star giant card, +150.

"Can it cast Blindness twice? It's indeed very useful against the Cyber Boxer."

While admiring it, Wang Ji also secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, his card reveal was not afraid of the opponent.

"Good brothers, in our hearts!"

As the card was revealed, a yellow-haired ruffian with a cigarette in his mouth rushed out.

He was a Balance System Resonator, and this card was a token card obtained in the Balance System Trial.

Loyal Thug

Balance System, 30 points, Two-star

Attack 10, 100/100

"Block - Passive: Loyal Thug's attack -20, can Replace with 1 allied card when revealed (T0)"

"Solid - Passive: When Loyal Thug uses Defense, damage taken -10"

(Replace: Cards swap positions)

The second entry of this card was exactly the same as the Sea Temple Abbot.

Both were Steadfast-exclusive entries obtained by Balance System Resonators.

"Student Wang Ji is about to gain an advantage."

"Replace was originally a T3 displacement effect, but with the Warcry's boost, it became a T0 priority, so even hard control can't stop it."

"And in this way, the Cyber Boxer can also safely output from the back row, completely undisturbed."

Clearly, the audience favored Wang Ji's side more.

After both sides revealed their cards, the board was as follows:

Boxer [Empty]

Shaman [Empty]

Thug [Abbot]

VS

[Empty] Tiao Tiao

Rock [Centipede]

[Empty] [Goblin]

The action phase officially began.

Both sides were very in sync this turn, playing the same hand card.

Both were LV1 Defense.

Wang Ji's Defense target was the Loyal Thug.

Shi Li's Defense target, on the other hand, was the Rock Giant Centipede.

Just when Wang Ji thought this turn would continue with T4 basic attack exchanges, an unexpected situation occurred.

"Sand Toss!"

The green goblin actually sprinkled a handful of sand on the giant centipede.

Blindness

An effect text popped up.

"A divine move!"

A viewer across the network couldn't help but exclaim when he saw this move.

In card games, when certain brilliant moves appear that can quickly reverse the situation, they are often called a divine move.

"Amazing! So clever!"

"Blindness won't affect Defense, and it will also trigger the Rock Giant Centipede's Resilience!"

"This way, when the number of attacks reaches 10 next turn to trigger Stun, the Rock Giant Centipede will be immune to control!"

Amidst the cheers of the crowd, both sides began to exchange basic attacks.

Shi Li's attack target was the Sea Temple Abbot; only the Jumping Guard dealt 30 damage.

It could be said that he anticipated the Loyal Thug would use Defense, so he chose this target.

As for Wang Ji's side, his 3 cards dealt a total of 15+15+15+15 = 60 damage to the Defending Rock Giant Centipede.

After the turn ended, the damage taken by both sides was as follows:

Rock Giant Centipede: 140/250 (7/10 Stun)

Cyber Boxer: 40/100

Sea Temple Abbot: 70/100

In terms of damage taken, Shi Li was still slightly inferior.

But with the new turn, the initiative came to Shi Li's side.

The Rock Giant Centipede was not afraid of hard control, but Wang Ji had no choice.

Because his 4 cards dealt 150 damage, he couldn't use all of them to attack the Jumping Guard's mere single health bar.

The more intelligent approach would be to use 2 cards to attack the Rock Giant Centipede, only adding 2 accumulated attacks.

But the key was that he didn't have LV2 Defense, so he could only have 1 card use Defense and the other card output against the Jumping Guard, maximizing his benefit.

However, the result of such a choice was that Wang Ji was once again caught.

The Defending Loyal Thug was not attacked; instead, the Sea Temple Abbot was taken down by the combined efforts of the Rock Giant Centipede + Jumping Guard.

And on his side, the Cyber Boxer + Mask Clan Shaman dealt 30+30 = 60 damage to the Rock Giant Centipede with basic attacks.

The most crucial point was that Shi Li also had the Despicable Goblin attack the Rock Giant Centipede!

"I was wondering why he would use a low-attack card worth only 20 points when he had two 50-point cards."

"It turns out he had this move up his sleeve!"

"The Despicable Goblin's added attack just made the Rock Giant Centipede's accumulated attacks reach 10, triggering Stun, but due to Resilience, it couldn't stop the Rock Giant Centipede's actions!"

The audience couldn't help but praise Shi Li's performance.
