227: The twentieth unique card
Chapter 227: The Twentieth unique Card
A new round began, and Shi Li revealed the card located behind the Red Blade Maiden: the Lotus Succubus.
The primary purpose of the Lotus Succubus appearing was to heal The Diner, extending his survival time.
Meanwhile, Li Wan continued to reveal offensive cards.
Because of The Diner's presence, revealing offensive cards was a better solution for him.
The Diner had a lot of health, so he wasn't worried about output overflow by revealing a few more offensive cards.
Moreover, the Full Moon Werewolf card was quite durable, requiring more output to defeat him.
And with 30 points, his attack power was fixed at 0, dragging down the team's output. This made Li Wan realize that if he wanted to win, he had to overpower Shi Li in terms of output.
After an exchange of attacks, both sides lost 1 outer card.
Shi Li lost the Full Moon Werewolf. Even as a Persistence damage-absorbing card, he couldn't survive against the opponent's hard crowd control interrupting his Defense and focused fire.
Li Wan, on the other hand, lost another first-row Persistence damage-absorbing card.
From the cards revealed, Shi Li had the Red Blade Maiden, so he wasn't worried about insufficient output.
Equipped with Abundant + Vast + Surging + Vast, she could deal 40 (attack power) + 10 (Suppression) + 30 (Vast) = 80 points of damage with a single strike.
Combined with the Jumping Dragon Guard's 30 points of attack, he could easily eliminate one of the opponent's cards.
So, as a new round began, he revealed the card behind The Diner: the Abyss Slime.
The Abyss Slime copied The Diner's trait: Satiated - Passive: The Diner's attack power is fixed at 0, and his maximum health increases by 100.
Furthermore, these two cards were stacked, making their column incredibly tanky.
Two cards with 0 attack and 200 health each.
Adding the healing from the Lotus Succubus, their tankiness was considerable.
However, even with the Lotus Succubus's healing, it couldn't keep up with the opponent's focused output, and The Diner was quickly reduced to critical health.
Shi Li, however, remained calm.
He first revealed his last regular card, bo shan.
Then, relying on the linked card revelation mechanism, he revealed the Ace card, Yun He.
With this, his formation strategy became very clear.
The Diner + Abyss Slime + bo shan provided excellent tankiness for the Ace card, Yun He.
Moreover, the Abyss Slime + bo shan + Yun He could form a synergy.
When the Abyss Slime left the field, he would transfer Satiated to bo shan.
This would turn bo shan into a massive, incredibly durable Persistence card with 200 health.
Shi Li had tested this before. In such a situation, combining them would turn cloud mountain into a 300-health monster, and with the Ace bonus, it would be 400 health.
Even with 0 attack power, he could still deal damage using Yun He's Quantum Entanglement.
However, for Shi Li, combining them was actually the inferior choice.
Because it was better to let the 200-health bo shan tank, while Yun He, with his 50 attack power, could comfortably deal damage from behind.
After becoming 400 health, he would also have to worry about the opponent pulling out percentage-based health cards.
And without the concern of combining, he could freely choose to use Quantum Entanglement or Revival.
Of course, at this point, Shi Li's lineup construction was not yet complete.
To prevent the opponent from ignoring the threat of the Red Blade Maiden's column and stubbornly pursuing a direct attack strategy.
To prevent the critically injured Diner from leaving the field too early.
He played The Diner's recently acquired signature hand card.
Food is Heaven: Restores The Diner to full health instantly, and doubles all previously gained maximum health bonuses. This signature hand card could make The Diner even tankier, to the point where others would lose their appetite just looking at him.
For example, at the time of revelation, he was 200/200, but after taking damage, he was reduced to 20/30.
After playing the signature hand card, he immediately became 400/40.
However, Li Wan was not entirely afraid of this card; after all, The Diner had no attack power, he was just a pure target.
For some PVE experts, when a target's health reaches a certain level, it loses its deterrent power, because who doesn't have a few percentage-based health cards in their hand?
At this point, both sides had revealed all their regular cards, and Shi Li had revealed one additional Ace card.
However, Shi Li's advantage was not this temporarily extra Ace card.
He also had one advantageous card: the additional Fennec Fox Girl.
But even so, Li Wan was not at an absolute disadvantage.
Especially since he played a very clever signature hand card.
That was, in the round when the Red Blade Maiden was about to activate Crimson Liberation: True, he played a Counter-type signature hand card.
This unique signature hand card had no other use; it was specifically designed to Counter signature hand cards, which was quite peculiar.
With Crimson Liberation: True countered, Crimson Liberation naturally couldn't be activated either.
Shi Li was thus put in a somewhat awkward position.
After all, The Diner, Abyss Slime, and Lotus Succubus were all cards without attack power.
Fortunately, the Jumping Dragon Guard did summon a wave of minions. Although Li Wan, who was prepared, immediately cleared them with an AOE, they at least dealt decent damage during the round they were present, combined with Dead's Talisman.
Ultimately, with a slight advantage, Shi Li secured the victory.
After all, when it came down to Ace versus Ace in the end, his extra Fennec Fox Girl was quite unbearable.
When we both exchange attacks, you have a support constantly inflicting Weakness on me; how can I win?
So, under the gaze of the audience, the match was decided.
And the developments in the following days were exactly as they had expected.
Shi Li swept through the competition, winning the New Star Cup without much resistance.
Compared to his victory, what surprised many acquaintances even more was that A Ya Jun's conceptual divine power actually worked.
Throughout the journey, this guy had extremely good luck with his draws, mostly encountering opponents who were not considered top-tier in this competition.
And almost all the formidable ones had been cleared out by Shi Li.
So, under such circumstances, he managed to somehow secure the runner-up position in this competition.
However, all this was irrelevant; what Shi Li cared about most were the rewards he was about to receive.
Winning the New Star Cup significantly elevated his status at Qingchuan University.
At the same time, the school's promises were all fulfilled one by one.
Among them, the cubic coins he received alone amounted to over 15 million.
This included tournament rewards, additional rewards from Qingchuan University, additional rewards from Po Shi Academy, an upgrade to S-tier treatment within the school, and an upgrade to an S2-tier contract at the Card Hall.
“With this money, I can do a lot of things.”
Shi Li sat in the private lounge of the Show Card Hall in District 11, looking at the card in his hand.
This card was obtained from the fourth floor of Po Shi Academy.
This was an additional reward from Po Shi Academy.
“It seems I can thoroughly strengthen my cards before heading to the Divine Realm.”
Shortly after claiming all his rewards, the Demon Man who called himself a divine official suddenly appeared out of nowhere and found him.
He then informed Shi Li that the Divine Realm would soon open and hoped he would arrive on time.
He immediately informed his teacher, Xiu Qingshan, about this matter.
Unexpectedly, Xiu Qingshan was not surprised at all and told him to seize this opportunity.
Xiu Qingshan was clearly aware but didn't say much more.
From his words, Shi Li deduced that there were likely many participants in this Divine Realm event, all elites from various civilizations.
“That Demon Man said that the Divine Realm is an extension of the Mang Domain, the next stage of the Mang Domain.”
“So there might also be various forms of card games there.”
“I need to make my deck richer and stronger.”
“Let's take a look at this card first.”
Shi Li looked at the card in his hand.
This was a perfect Relic Card; upon use, he would automatically obtain the card behind it.
He believed that anything placed on the fourth floor of the Academy's card library would definitely be a gem among gems.
So he clicked to start using it.
After several tens of minutes of automatic plot and combat, he received the result.
Obtainable Character Card [Lightning Flash (One Star)] x1.
Obtainable Hand Card [Charge (LV1)] x1.
Consume 16,000 cubic coins to reset this mission? (Yes/No)
Po Shi system Resonance: 120% → 130%
“Let me calculate, is there a chance to reach Po Shi system Resonance 200% with this wave?”
Shi Li did a mental calculation.
10% per level, so when Lightning Flash reaches 4 stars, it would be 160%.
If he had a signature hand card, it would be 170%.
Then, if Breaker reached four stars, and also had a signature hand card, it would be 190%.
“No chance. It seems I'll need to acquire one more unique Po Shi system card to have a chance at 200%.”
“Let's look at the card first.”
The projection of this card was a woman in a blue and white cloak.
A smooth, long leg was visible beneath the cloak, with a circle of throwing knives strapped to it.
Her beautiful face subtly revealed a hint of murderous intent.
She had golden hair and blue eyes, but one eye was covered by an embroidered eye patch, sealed shut.
Lightning Flash
Momentum, 0 points, One Star Attack 0, 100/100, 0/30
Rhythm - Characteristic: Lightning Flash's attack power increases by 5 points for this game every 2 attacks.
Flowing Flash - 30 Energy: Lightning Flash deals 3 instances of 5 Fixed Damage to the target.
“This card——”
Shi Li raised an eyebrow slightly.
It could be said that this card was a typical example of the Po Shi system.
It maximized warm-up, or rather, had no upper limit.
It was the complete opposite of the Flower Cudgel Leader.
Shi Li really liked cards with no upper limit like this.
Very similar to The Diner.
In PVE card games with a huge number of rounds, such cards with no upper limit had stronger potential.
For bosses with extremely high health, Lightning Flash was another solution besides the Red Blade Maiden.
Especially when the opponent's mechanics sometimes countered the Red Blade Maiden's Crimson Blaze.
Like the final worm boss in the City of Chaotic Corpses last time.
Theoretically, as long as one could withstand the boss's output and not die, one could stack attack power indefinitely.
It was most suitable for fighting bosses with extremely strong Recovery abilities.
After all, if a boss recovered 20% of its maximum health every turn, even the Red Blade Maiden wouldn't be able to do much against it.
He had encountered such bosses in the Chess Domain before, and they were eventually defeated by the concentrated efforts of many people.
Shi Li immediately pulled up a simulated card table and tested it.
The results were quite pleasing. The 3 attacks of Flowing Flash could target different enemies and were Fixed Damage, making it a very useful Finishing Blow and health control skill.
3 attacks could Charge 30 points, allowing Flowing Flash to be used again next round.
This meant that once the warm-up was complete, it could be used infinitely.
6 attacks over 2 rounds could provide Lightning Flash with 15 permanent attack power.
The only drawback was that Flowing Flash's damage was fixed at 35 = 15 points, regardless of its attack power.
“However, for PVP, it would probably be difficult for it to accumulate high attack power.”
It requires 3 rounds to warm up, and then gains 15 attack power every 2 subsequent rounds.
Including the 3 attacks during the 3 warm-up rounds, that's 15 attack power after 4 revealed rounds, and 30 attack power after 6 revealed rounds.
And if you want to use normal attacks for damage in between, it will interrupt the skill cycle and affect the frequency of stacking attack power.
Unless it's a long, Recovery-heavy PVP bladder match where neither side can defeat the other.
Overall, because its starting point is too low and its warm-up is too slow, it's not a widely applicable card.
It can only be effective in special situations, such as the Hell Trial.
Shi Li still highly approved of this card.
So he successively purchased the one-star to two-star and two-star to three-star Relic Cards to promote it.
The results were quite good.
Lightning Flash
Momentum, 0 points, Three Star Attack 0, 100/100, 0/60
Rhythm - Characteristic: Lightning Flash's attack power increases by 5 points for this game every 2 attacks.
Thunder Fight - Passive: If allied Martial cards attack 10 times this round, Lightning Flash can attack an additional time next round.
Explosive Flash - 20 Energy: Lightning Flash attacks 1 target, inflicting Blindness.
Flowing Flash - 30 Energy: Lightning Flash deals 3 instances of 5 Fixed Damage to the target.
Furious Flash - 30 Energy: Lightning Flash attacks 1 target, inflicting Stun.
Two new active debuff skills were added, which could be used in different situations.
Then there was also a passive effect that linked with Martial cards.
Shi Li's current Martial cards include Red Blade Maiden, Flower Cudgel Leader, Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter, Breaker, Fleeing Ink, Snail Walking Lady, and Black Angel.
A total of 7 Martial cards.
Considering the Flower Cudgel Leader's combo attacks, the Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter's pursuit attacks, and Lightning Flash's own 3-hit combo, it wouldn't be difficult to accumulate 10 attacks in a single round.
If the Po Shi system Full Moon Werewolf and the Abyss Slime (which copied the tag) were included, that would be 9 cards.
Adding Lightning Flash itself, Shi Li could even assemble a full Martial card deck now.
“The Martial card deck is barely complete. I wonder if I'll be able to assemble a Dragon card deck later.”
“Maybe I'll have a chance to achieve that in the Divine Realm.”
Shi Li was faintly looking forward to it.
However, before that, he still needed to continue strengthening his deck.
Next up was Black Angel's three-star to four-star promotion.
