23: I'll play with you guys.

After the song ended, Qin Shou put down the microphone and walked back to his seat with a natural demeanor, continuing to calmly crack melon seeds, as if the stunning singing that had just captivated everyone was a trivial matter.

However, the others in the private room were still immersed in Qin Shou's magnetic, heavenly voice and couldn't recover for a long time.

"Qin Shou, your singing is too good! It's professional singer level! Sing one more, just one more, we haven't heard enough!"

Feng Meimei, still wanting more, was the first to break the silence, her eyes full of little stars as she looked at Qin Shou.

The others also nodded in agreement, hoping Qin Shou would sing a few more songs; who wouldn't want a free live concert?

This annoyed Guo Gang, who was beside him, and he couldn't help but pinch Qin Shou's thigh, clearly displeased.

Qin Shou hissed in pain, his face turning green, thinking, "You bastard, you're so petty. I didn't try to seduce your goddess."

"Forget it, let others sing."

Qin Shou waved his hand; he knew the importance of knowing when to stop when showing off. Showing off the same thing too much loses its effect.

"Hehe, I think brother wei sings with more flavor and more appeal! While Qin Shou sings well, he's still not as good as our brother wei!"

Zhang Hui had, after all, taken Zhang Wei's money, and since she was beholden to him, she had to speak well of him. Although she secretly wanted to hear Qin Shou continue singing, she had to do as she was paid and praise Zhang Wei against her conscience.

But when she said this, her voice was noticeably softer, and her tone was somewhat weak, clearly lacking confidence, even she herself found it awkward.

"Hehe, really?"

Although Feng Meimei was usually quite open-minded, she was a straightforward person who said what she thought and couldn't be bothered to humor Zhang Wei and Zhang Hui. Hearing Zhang Hui's forced explanation, she gave Zhang Hui an undisguised look of disdain.

"I also think our brother wei sings with more power and more masculinity!"

Le Xiang followed suit, continuing to flatter Zhang Wei against his conscience, trying to save Zhang Wei's face.

But flattering him now was truly hitting the horse's leg, having the opposite effect. Zhang Wei's face was incredibly grim, like the sky before a storm, overcast and terribly gloomy.

After Qin Shou finished the lonely warrior, if anyone else dared to open their mouth, they would undoubtedly be humiliating themselves. Zhang Wei wasn't that stupid, so he glared fiercely at Le Xiang, who was clumsily flattering him.

"Hmph, forget it, I'm a bit tired of singing, I don't want to sing anymore today."

Zhang Wei's face was ashen, he snorted coldly, his expression frosty.

Suddenly, the lively KTV fell completely silent. After Qin Shou finished his song, no one dared to pick up the microphone again. The contrast was too obvious; they would simply look like clowns.

"Qin Shou, your singing is so good, why did I never hear you sing in college? You were too low-key back then!"

Zhu Xinyao looked at Qin Shou with adoration. If Zhu Xinyao's previous overtures to Qin Shou were mixed with complex reasons like showing off or wounded pride, now Zhu Xinyao was completely captivated by Qin Shou's singing; she was utterly smitten.

She even began to fantasize that if Qin Shou could sing a love song just for her, she would probably fall for him on the spot, not just smitten, but probably wet.

"Hehe, I don't really like these kinds of occasions, I find them a bit noisy."

Qin Shou shrugged, his tone light and understated, showing off subtly. Compared to Zhang Wei's grand style of showing off, his class was immeasurably higher.

Qin Shou shrugged, too lazy to explain further.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the KTV private room became a little subtle.

"Ah, singing isn't that interesting, I'm a bit tired of it. Does anyone want to play cards? I booked a mahjong room next door earlier. How about we change locations and play a few rounds of mahjong to relax? I'm tired of singing and don't want to sing anymore."

Zhang Wei felt that staying in this KTV room would only allow Qin Shou to continue showing off, which greatly displeased him. So he immediately wanted to change the subject and encourage everyone to engage in other entertainment activities.

"Great, great, I'm in! I've been wanting to play a few rounds for a while, it'll be good to stretch my muscles!"

Although the girls still felt they hadn't had enough and wanted to continue listening to Qin Shou sing, with Qin Shou's excellent performance preceding them, the boys felt too embarrassed to continue singing and making a fool of themselves. So, one by one, they all agreed with Zhang Wei's suggestion.

In a short while, more than ten people expressed their agreement to play mahjong, quickly forming three tables. Everyone enthusiastically moved to the mahjong room next door.

However, this fourth mahjong table was still three short of a full set, and they couldn't gather enough players.

It turned out that at previous class gatherings, the fixed players at one mahjong table were always "Zhang Wei, Zhou Chong, Yang Tao, and Liu Yibo." These four were the "four big spenders" of the class.

Zhang Wei, Zhou Chong, and Yang Tao were all genuine Second-generation rich, from well-off families, while Liu Yibo was a self-made millionaire who had achieved success at a young age.

These four had the most money and played for the highest stakes. A single mahjong game could easily involve tens of thousands of yuan in wins or losses. For them, it was just a small game for fun, but for the other ordinary working-class members of the class, it was an astronomical sum they couldn't afford to play or lose.

But today, Liu Yibo had an engagement and didn't come, so this mahjong table couldn't be filled.

"Damn it, what's with this three-short-of-a-full-set? How are we supposed to play?"

Zhang Wei had a terrible day; he hadn't eaten well, hadn't drunk well, hadn't managed to win over his desired goddess, and hadn't been able to show off as he intended, but instead had been thoroughly outshone by Qin Shou. His mood was already awful, and now he couldn't even fill a mahjong table, which made him feel incredibly frustrated and annoyed.

"Le Xiang, why don't you join our table to make up the numbers? You usually like playing mahjong anyway."

Zhang Wei said impatiently, with a hint of command in his tone.

"Uh... brother wei, I'm really sorry, but I've already made plans with some other guys over there."

When Le Xiang heard Zhang Wei's invitation, his face immediately showed a smile uglier than a cry, and he inwardly groaned. He was just an employee of Zhang Wei's, and his income was average; how could he afford to play such high-stakes mahjong? Tens of thousands in wins or losses was an astronomical sum for him.

"Damn it, you're useless when I need you!"

Zhang Wei looked displeased.

"Hehe, I'm really sorry, brother wei."

Le Xiang could only offer an awkward smile, fearing he might offend Zhang Wei and lose his job.

"How about... I play with you guys! Everyone seems to be in high spirits, don't spoil the fun."

Just as Zhang Wei was feeling depressed and unsure what to do, Qin Shou, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up, offering to join their mahjong game.

When Zhang Wei heard Qin Shou's words, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, a mocking sneer appearing on his face, and he said sarcastically, "You? At this table, wins and losses are casually in the tens of thousands. Can you afford to play? Don't end up losing even your underwear; that wouldn't look good."

"It doesn't matter, if I lose everything, I'll just stop playing. Consider it me joining for entertainment."

Qin Shou shrugged, saying indifferently. He knew Zhang Wei was deliberately taunting him, but he didn't take it to heart; he was counting on getting money from this show-off.

"Hehe, that's true, you don't have much money to lose anyway. But don't worry, your brother wei is a magnanimous person with a broad mind. I'll definitely leave you a pair of underwear so you don't have to go home naked."

Zhang Wei became even more smug when he heard Qin Shou say this, thinking, "Finally, I have a chance to get back at him today. I'll make you lose everything but your underwear, and then I'll see how Zhu Xinyao looks at you, and if you still dare to show off in front of me."

"Holy crap, Old Qin, are you out of your mind? While your singing was indeed amazing, there's no need to play cards with Zhang Wei! If you lose, you'll never recover your whole life. You said I was blinded by greed, but I think you're the one who's truly lost his mind for the sake of chasing a goddess. Why compete with a Second-generation rich?"

Guo Gang, who was nearby, heard Qin Shou's words and immediately jumped up in a panic, grabbing Qin Shou's arm and anxiously trying to dissuade him. He didn't want his only brother to fall into a deep pit due to a moment of impulsiveness, never to recover and climb out again.
