40: Turns out I can do Qigong too.

"It's no big deal."

Ren Jing waved her hand dismissively.

"Hehe, kid, did you see that clearly? What this old man just used is our Dragon Country's millennial heritage: Qigong!"

Butler Fu felt he had finally regained his dignity. He looked at Qin Shou with an arrogant and smug expression.

Qin Shou stared at the red wine and glass shards scattered across the floor, still somewhat dazed. He was replaying the moment Butler Fu made his move, wondering how that invisible force shattered the wine glass. He didn't immediately respond to Butler Fu, but instead fell into deep thought, the scene constantly replaying in his mind.

Qin Shou thought of something: the warm surge of heat that appeared in his Dantian after he used the Skill: Plucking Yin to Supplement Yang. Could that be the Qigong Butler Fu was talking about?

If that were true, wouldn't it mean he could do it too?

Seeing Qin Shou's reaction, Butler Fu assumed Qin Shou was awestruck by his earlier palm strike. He was quite pleased, thinking, "Although this kid has natural strength and has practiced some rudimentary martial arts, he is ultimately just an ordinary person from the lower strata of society. He hasn't seen much, so he was stunned by my 'Shattering Glass from a Distance' trick."

"Uh..., could you also pour me a glass of red wine?"

After a long moment of stunned silence, Qin Shou suddenly looked up and said something that surprised everyone.

"Ah—! You want to drink? You still have an injury on your face! Didn't the doctor just say it's best not to drink alcohol during this time?"

Ren Jing was taken aback by Qin Shou's sudden remark, thinking he wanted to drink, and quickly tried to dissuade him.

"No, you misunderstood. I also want to try what you just did."

Qin Shou quickly waved his hand, explaining.

"Hehe, kid, this isn't something you can do casually. Without twenty or thirty years of hard work, don't even think about it!"

Butler Fu heard Qin Shou's words, first paused, then a sneer of disdain appeared on his face. He thought, "This kid really doesn't know his place."

"How will you know I can't do it if I don't try? Hurry up and pour a glass; I want to try too."

Qin Shou remained insistent, wanting to verify his own guess.

"Uh... alright."

Seeing Qin Shou's persistence, Ren Jing was also curious about what he would do. So, she complied, picked up another clean wine glass, and poured a glass of red wine.

"Hmph—Ha—"

Qin Shou imitated Butler Fu's earlier breathing technique, taking a deep breath, then letting out a loud shout. He struck a similar starting pose to Butler Fu's and similarly pushed out a palm fiercely, aiming an invisible strike at the wine glass on the coffee table.

Butler Fu saw Qin Shou's movements and initially curled his lip in disdain. But then, a hint of nervousness flashed in his eyes. He was still somewhat worried that Qin Shou might actually cause some movement, as Qin Shou's earlier display of strength had left him unsure of his true capabilities.

However, after a moment, the wine glass on the coffee table showed no reaction. Not even a ripple stirred in the red wine within the glass.

"Hehe, kid, don't push yourself. I told you, this isn't something you can do without twenty years of hard work. Don't even think about it."

Seeing no reaction from the wine glass, Butler Fu immediately breathed a sigh of relief. He resumed his previous arrogant demeanor, shaking his head with a profound air.

"Hmph—Ha—"

Qin Shou still wouldn't give up and tried again. The result was the same: the wine glass remained motionless, completely unresponsive.

"Hmph—Ha—"

...After four or five more attempts, Butler Fu was getting impatient and waved his hand.

"Forget it, kid, don't waste your energy and time. I told you long ago, this isn't something that can be achieved overnight. You should just give up."

However, just as Butler Fu's words fell, the red wine in the previously still wine glass suddenly began to violently vibrate.

"This—!"

Seeing this, Butler Fu was stunned, shocked, and completely frozen on the spot. He had failed to show off again.

He had practiced for over a decade to achieve what he did today. How many times had Qin Shou tried?

Immediately after, the stemmed glass, due to the violent shaking of the red wine inside, lost its balance and eventually toppled over onto the coffee table. The crimson liquid spilled everywhere, but the glass didn't completely shatter; it merely lay on its side.

"Why didn't it shatter? Is my Qigong not strong enough? Or is my control not precise enough?"

Qin Shou looked at the overturned wine glass on the coffee table, scratching his head with a puzzled expression.

"Kid, have you practiced Qigong?"

"No, that's not right. If he had practiced Qigong, why would his application of Qi seem completely amateurish, as if he understood nothing?"

Butler Fu finally recovered from his shock and looked at Qin Shou with some surprise, feeling increasingly unable to understand the young man before him.

"No."

Qin Shou shook his head without any pretense.

"Impossible. Someone who hasn't practiced Qigong could never do that. Tell me, what exactly is going on? Who are you, and why are you approaching the Young Miss?"

Butler Fu remained relentless, his expression turning stern. He took a step forward, blocking Ren Jing, fearing that Qin Shou might suddenly pose a threat to the Young Miss.

Recalling Qin Shou's extraordinary marksmanship that day, and now seeing an ordinary person like Qin Shou actually possess Qigong, he couldn't help but become vigilant.

Qin Shou saw Butler Fu's tense reaction and knew he had to come up with a plausible explanation. He feigned a bewildered, thoughtful expression, then suddenly slapped his thigh as if a crucial memory had just struck him, saying:

"That's right, I remember now!"

"When I was little, a monk once passed by our house, begging for alms. He said I had an extraordinary bone structure and was destined for martial arts. He stubbornly insisted on teaching me a set of breathing and meditation techniques."

"But I didn't take it seriously, practicing only occasionally, until recently, I suddenly felt a surge of warmth in my Dantian."

"Just now, seeing your palm strike reminded me of that warmth in my belly, so I wanted to try it. I didn't expect it to actually work."

"Is that true?"

After hearing Qin Shou's explanation, Butler Fu showed a hint of suspicion. Although he found it somewhat hard to believe, his expression softened.

He could tell that while Qin Shou clearly had True Qi, he completely lacked knowledge of how to use it, which was why he had to try seven or eight times before barely succeeding once. Therefore, Qin Shou's explanation was somewhat plausible.

"Of course. If I had really practiced, I wouldn't have needed to try so many times to succeed. If I intended to hide it, I wouldn't have needed to try breaking this wine glass from a distance in front of you, would I?"

Qin Shou nodded, looking at Butler Fu with an innocent expression, while inwardly muttering, "How the hell can I tell you that I got this because the system gave me a Skill: Plucking Yin to Supplement Yang, and I slept with pretty girls all the way to cultivate this True Qi?"

"Hmph! I'll believe you for now!"

Butler Fu snorted. Although he didn't fully believe Qin Shou's story, he also knew that if Qin Shou truly intended to harm Ren Jing, he would have had many opportunities already, especially the last time in the car.

Of course, what Butler Fu didn't know was that Qin Shou had indeed taken advantage of Ren Jing in the car last time, but the way he took advantage of her was somewhat different from what Butler Fu imagined.
