88: Na Ring
“Alright, Brother Qin, be careful. I’ll take these two to the hospital first.”
Yang Weiguo saw Qin Shou’s resolute attitude, remembered Qin Shou’s skills from before, and his methods that made zombies avoid him, so he no longer hesitated. After a few instructions, he planned to leave quickly with the others.
“Okay, be careful on the road.”
Qin Shou exchanged a few more pleasantries with Yang Weiguo, then watched as Yang Weiguo and the others drove away from the area.
After confirming that Yang Weiguo and his group had gone far, Qin Shou turned to Nuo Nuo, who had been standing obediently by his side, and said, “Let’s go, we’ll also go in and take a look.”
“Hehe, okay, Big Brother.”
Nuo Nuo responded excitedly, skipping and hopping behind Qin Shou.
Soon, the two once again arrived before the bronze coffin. Under the dim light, the mottled patterns on the bronze coffin appeared even more mysterious.
“Big Brother, I want the things inside.”
Nuo Nuo looked up, her bright, watery eyes gazing at Qin Shou, her finger pointing at the mysterious bronze coffin, her face full of longing.
“Ling’er, what exactly do these words on it say?” Qin Shou looked at the ancient script on the coffin lid again, full of curiosity.
“Ancient Loose Cultivator Feng Yuxiu, harmed by treacherous people, died with regret, and is buried here. If a descendant performs three kowtows and nine prostrations, and drips blood onto the bronze coffin, they can obtain my inheritance from my lifetime, as well as the treasures I cherished throughout my life,” Ling’er’s voice echoed in Qin Shou’s mind.
“My goodness, there’s such a good thing? Why didn’t the Blood God Cult’s leader come to drip blood and acknowledge a master? Could there be a trap in here? What if, once the blood is dripped, the thing inside the coffin suddenly reanimates?”
After hearing Ling’er’s words, Qin Shou felt both surprised and puzzled. He always felt that things wouldn’t be so simple; there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world.
“Hehe, Master, don’t overthink it. Is it possible that the cult leader didn’t recognize these ancient characters at all? That’s why he didn’t know how to get the treasures from this bronze coffin?”
“That may be true, but you can’t guarantee that there’s really nothing in this bronze coffin!”
“Master, there’s no need to worry. It’s been over a hundred thousand years; unless it’s a celestial immortal, their soul would have long since dispersed. Unless what’s inside is a ghost cultivator who refined himself into an immortal zombie.”
“What if this guy really is a zombie?”
“Then Master has even less to fear! This Fiend Blood Demon Corpse is the King of Corpses; no matter how powerful a zombie is, they’ll obediently listen to Nuo Nuo. It’s a natural bloodline suppression! Master can rest assured,” Ling’er said nonchalantly.
“Damn it, I don’t care, I’ll try.”
Hearing Ling’er say this, Qin Shou steeled his heart, no longer overthinking it. He knelt before the raised stone futon and performed three kowtows and nine prostrations.
After the ritual, Qin Shou stood up and approached the bronze coffin. On the lid of the bronze coffin, a hideous and terrifying ghost face was carved.
“Master, drip fresh blood into the mouth of this evil ghost; that should do it,” Ling’er reminded him.
“Are you really sure it’s safe?” Qin Shou looked at the fierce and ominous ghost face, feeling a chill in his heart, always sensing something sinister.
Seeing that Qin Shou was still hesitant, Ling’er said directly, “According to my guess, with such heavy Yin-Sha energy, this Loose Cultivator was most likely too heavily injured and wouldn’t live long. So he wanted to refine himself into a zombie, and the way to awaken him should be the fresh blood of a living person. That’s why he deliberately set up such a trap, saying there were treasures left for future generations!”
“My goodness, and you still want me to drip blood?” Qin Shou immediately became displeased upon hearing this.
“Hehe, Master, how can you catch a tiger cub without entering the tiger’s den! He wants to revive with your blood, but with Nuo Nuo here, what is there to fear? Moreover, this is an Ancient Loose Cultivator, doesn’t Master want to gain some benefits from him?” Ling’er coaxed patiently.
Qin Shou’s expression flickered as he listened to Ling’er’s words, his heart wavering. Nuo Nuo, however, could no longer hold back and urged excitedly, “Big Brother, hurry up and open it!”
Qin Shou glanced at Nuo Nuo, thought of his heavenly-grade reward for the cultivation system mission, and finally gritted his teeth, bit his middle finger with resolve, and dripped a few drops of fresh blood into the ghost face’s mouth on the bronze coffin.
After doing all this, Qin Shou immediately retreated a few steps, maintaining distance from the bronze coffin, and nervously watched the changes before him.
Sure enough, immediately after, Qin Shou heard a deafening roar, and the lid of the bronze coffin actually began to move slowly!
“Jie—jie—jie—, how many years has it been? This old man can finally come out!”
Before the coffin lid was fully open, Qin Shou heard a sharp, piercing scream from inside the coffin.
At the same time, the zombies outside the stone chamber also seemed startled, each letting out a mournful shriek, appearing unusually agitated and restless.
Qin Shou thought, “This is it, I’m finished. Damn it, it really was a trap. An old monster from over a hundred thousand years ago is out, what the hell am I supposed to do now?!”
But just as Qin Shou was at a loss, Nuo Nuo, with an excited expression, suddenly jumped up and then leaped directly into the bronze coffin.
“Ah! What is this—? A Fiend Blood Demon Corpse! How can there be a Fiend Blood Demon Corpse!”
Nuo Nuo pounced on the Ancient Loose Cultivator’s corpse, opened her small mouth, and sucked. A dense black mist actually floated from the Ancient Loose Cultivator’s mouth into Nuo Nuo’s mouth.
No matter how the Ancient Loose Cultivator struggled, he found himself unable to move, completely suppressed by the Corpse King aura emanating from Nuo Nuo!
“Ah—, I’m not reconciled!”
After a while, accompanied by a high-pitched, mournful scream, the Ancient Loose Cultivator finally completely turned to dust, his life and cultivation extinguished, his soul utterly scattered.
Seeing this, Qin Shou knew that Nuo Nuo had dealt with the zombie and immediately rushed over.
Nuo Nuo was lying inside the bronze coffin, holding a completely black cylindrical object in her hand, with wisps of black mist swirling around it, its nature unknown. After sucking dry the Yin-Sha energy from the demon corpse, Nuo Nuo’s small face was flushed, and she kept giggling foolishly, as if she were drunk.
“Hehe, Big Brother, Nuo Nuo is full, it was delicious.”
Qin Shou thought, “Little Ancestor, you are truly amazing!”
With that, Qin Shou picked Nuo Nuo out of the coffin. The coffin was empty, with only an antique bronze storage ring lying quietly within.
“Master, this is a storage ring; it should belong to this Loose Cultivator. Quickly take it out.”
Hearing this, Qin Shou didn’t say a word and immediately picked up the ring, holding it in his hand and examining it carefully.
On the ring, some complex ancient characters were also carved, which Qin Shou couldn’t quite understand.
However, this didn’t stump Ling’er, who immediately informed Qin Shou that it was a somewhat obscure incantation, likely used to open the storage ring.
“Master, let’s go out first. You can’t stay in here for too long.”
Qin Shou had intended to try the incantation right there, but he had already stayed too long, and the Yin-Sha energy was beginning to erode his body, so Ling’er immediately reminded him.
“Alright, by the way, where’s my reward?”
