48: Chapter 48 Devastating Victory

Separated from their aquatic environment, the Murlocs' movements on land appeared somewhat comical. Every few steps were accompanied by a swaying of their bodies. Watching that stumbling gait, Thranduil felt that the young Elves at home crawled faster than them.

Looking at this scene, Thranduil couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth... Using bows and arrows to deal with this kind of trash felt like a waste of energy...

As the Murlocs approached step by step, the Elves could already see the slime covering their slippery skin, and the undried water weeds wrapped around their bodies.

The Murlocs bared their ugly, wide mouths, constantly emitting howling, ghostly cries toward the Elves, which made the Elves frown repeatedly.

"What a punchable thing. If the order to attack hadn't been given yet, I would have gone over and hacked you to pieces right now..."

When the Murlocs entered within a hundred meters of the Elves' formation, Thranduil finally issued the order: "Tier 1 Swordsmen, step forward! Ten of you, step out!"

As soon as the words fell, the Great Shieldmen, who had been arranged in a tight formation, immediately moved in unison, turning their shields to the right to leave a gap in the shield wall for the Swordsmen behind to pass through.

Ten Tier 1 Elven Swordsmen stepped quickly out of the formation, passed through the gap, and assembled in front of the shields.

Their expressions were stern, the longswords in their hands glinting with cold light. After lining up, they waited silently for Thranduil's next order.

Thranduil did not say much; he lightly waved his right hand, signaling the assembled Swordsmen to launch an attack...

Seeing the attack gesture, the ten Elves immediately shielded themselves with the shields held in their left hands, then charged at the Murlocs in front at extreme speed.

The Murlocs' movements on land were already slow, and they were already panting after walking the distance between the two armies. When they were suddenly hit by the shields held in front of the Elves, they immediately fell to the ground one after another, emitting a series of gibberish howls...

Before the Murlocs could react, the Elves fiercely stabbed their longswords into the Murlocs' necks with their right hands. The movements were clean and neat, without a hint of hesitation.

A spray of blood immediately erupted from the Murlocs' throats, staining the grass beneath their necks red. Now the Murlocs could no longer emit their annoying, weird cries; after making a gurgling sound, they all died...

After finishing off the Murlocs, the ten Elves quickly sheathed their longswords, as if the bloody battle just now was merely a simple drill.

They quickly returned to the team at the rear, rejoining their positions through the gaps opened in the shields...

On the battlefield, only ten lifeless Murloc corpses remained, seeming to tell the story of this short and cruel battle in the breeze.

From the massive Murloc legion, the first batch of enemies only split off ten Tier 1 Murlocs. Their numbers were few, and their combat power was not strong. These fragile enemies seemed more like the vanguard of this test, checking whether the students' Believers possessed basic combat literacy...

Lin Ye stood on the clouds, quietly watching the battle below. He could only shake his head and continue watching; the Murlocs that appeared in the first few waves had no reference value.

The second wave of enemies was also split from the Murloc legion, but this time it was a squad of twenty Murlocs, all still at Tier 1 in strength.

The familiar geriatric pace, combined with the familiar ghostly cries, rushed toward the Elves...

As these twenty Murlocs gradually approached within a hundred meters of the Elves again, Thranduil's steady voice sounded once more: "Twenty Tier 1 Spearmen, step forward..."

After the Spearmen finished assembling, Thranduil once again lightly waved his right hand. These twenty Tier 1 Elven Spearmen immediately rushed out like the wind, their nimble figures quickly approaching the Murlocs.

Despite the Elves' slim build, the force with which they stabbed at the Murlocs' necks was not small. The spears in their hands struck fiercely at the Murlocs' necks like a viper flicking its tongue, then they gave a forceful flick. This time, the Murlocs didn't even have time to scream before they all died again...

The third wave was still Tier 1 Murlocs, but the number increased to fifty. Crude weapons, weak bodies—apart from the increased number, this batch of Murlocs hadn't changed much from the first two waves. Thranduil frowned slightly, looking at the Murlocs "rushing" toward his direction in a dragging manner, his eyes gradually filled with impatience.

After the first two rounds of engagement with the Murlocs, this group of weak and noisy Murlocs could not provide much training for the Elves; at most, it was an opportunity for the Elves to see blood at the beginning of the war.

Having lost patience, Thranduil no longer had the heart to play with the Murlocs. "Tier 1 Elven Archers, take your positions!"

The Tier 1 Elven Archers, who were waiting in full battle array, quickly pulled their bows to the full, aiming at the Murlocs in the distance. These longbows were meticulously crafted from rare magical materials, and as the bowstrings were tightened, they flickered with a faint magical glow...

Thranduil looked at the Murlocs and shook his head. "A volley, fire!"

In an instant, dozens of arrows were fired from the direction of the Elves like raindrops. Because these arrows were made of rare magical materials and had been enchanted with Amplification Magic by Angel, the arrowheads glinted with a cold silver light, and the feathers at the tails of the arrows vibrated with a swishing sound at high speed.

These arrows streaked across the sky like meteors with sharp whistling sounds, heading straight for the Murlocs' heads as if a headshot spell had been cast on them...

A single volley from the thirty Tier 1 Elven Archers directly took out more than twenty Murlocs. To save arrows, each Elf had their own attack target.

Facing the fast and deadly attack, the remaining twenty-plus Murlocs were immediately thrown into chaos... Some Murlocs fled in panic in all directions, while others buried their heads directly into the fallen Murlocs, trembling and trying to avoid the attacks from the sky...

Thranduil shook his head as he watched the Murlocs' performance. "Truly a motley crew..."

Without giving the Murlocs a chance to catch their breath, Thranduil quickly issued an order to continue the attack. "Tier 1 Archers, free attack. Finish them off quickly."

The Tier 1 Elven Archers quickly nocked their second arrows and fired at these slow-moving, living targets in the distance. The Murlocs scurrying about like flies were instantly headshot, and those hiding under the Murloc corpses did not escape the attack either, as the arrows pierced through the corpses and struck their heads...

After this wave of attacks, the battlefield fell into a silence longer than the previous two times. It seemed to be time for the students to rest and regroup...

The fourth wave began to feature Tier 1 Kobolds... The fifth wave featured Tier 1 Gnolls... ... The seventh wave featured Tier 1 Tigermen... ... For the first nine waves of enemies, Thranduil had the Elves take turns to quickly finish them off, letting each Elf's weapon see blood...
