49: Chapter 49 Second-Tier Murloc Commander

It wasn't until the tenth wave that the enemies separating from the monster army began to draw some attention from Thranduil.

This time, five leaders were separated from the Murloc army at once, all of whom were Tier 2 existences.

After these five Tier 2 Murloc Commanders appeared, the discipline of the other Tier 1 mobs was noticeably much stronger, unlike the previous few times when the Tier 1 mobs would impatiently launch attacks at the Elves as soon as they came out of the monster army...

The equipment on these five Tier 2 Murloc Commanders was completely different from the Tier 1 Murlocs; they wore half-body light armor and held sharp fish bones...

They were no longer the frail-looking creatures with naked bodies holding crude wooden sticks.

Instead, they wore worn-out half-body light armor that emitted a cold luster.

Compared to Tier 1 Murlocs who could only rely on their bare skin for defense, this light armor clearly had more style...

The weapons in their hands had also been replaced with sharp fish bones, and the fish spines on them were polished to a glistening, chilly sheen.

The strength of a Tier 2 creature had a qualitative leap compared to Tier 1.

Even for a Murloc, which belonged to the low-level creatures, when it broke through to Tier 2, it could steadily suppress the combined attacks of three Tier 1 humans...

Besides the 5 Tier 2 Murlocs, the tenth wave was followed by fifty Tier 1 Murlocs, plus another thirty Tier 1 Kobolds and Gnolls.

Seeing this scene, Lin Ye raised an eyebrow slightly and transmitted his voice to Thranduil below, "Tier 2 Elves, do not attack yet. Let the Tier 1 Elves go first..."

Thranduil heard this and nodded gently, "Tier 1 Archers, continuous volley fire! Don't let the enemy get close to us! Swordsmen, get ready!"

After emerging from the monster army, the five Tier 2 Murloc Commanders did not rush to launch an attack on the Elves.

Instead, they had the disorganized Tier 1 monsters following behind them form up, seemingly wanting to give a pep talk before the battle...

While these five Tier 2 Murlocs were busily and clumsily directing the formation, the Elves' attacks descended like a rainstorm.

Dense arrows, carrying the whistling sound of breaking wind, shot towards the heads of the Murlocs' "neatly" arranged formation.

A Murloc Commander swatted away an arrow aimed at its throat and howled angrily, "*...%#¥@...#¥..."

The Murloc language was strange and difficult to understand, and the Elves couldn't understand what it was screeching about, but Lin Ye could understand its meaning — "You don't fight with honor..."

Thranduil watched the Murloc Commander's reaction, turned his head, and teased Angel, "The intelligence of Tier 2 Murlocs is indeed much higher than that of Tier 1 Murlocs~"

Facing the Elves' continuous arrow attacks, the Murloc Commander knew that the current formation was just a living target for the opponent, and it couldn't continue to put on airs and give lectures like before.

It raised the sharp fish bone in its hand and screeched at the top of its lungs, "#%...&*...¥@..."

The meaning was, "Scatter! Charge, all of you! Kill these people who don't fight with honor..."

Having said that, it took the lead and charged out under the rain of arrows.

The fish bone in its hand was swung so tightly that it was impenetrable, continuously deflecting the arrows aimed at its vital points.

However, the other Tier 1 Murlocs did not have this ability and fell silently one after another after being headshot.

Although the other Tier 1 Kobolds and Gnolls managed to barely dodge the headshots thanks to their agile bodies, they were still covered in wounds, and blood stained their coarse fur...

By the time this monster squad struggled into the 200-meter range of the Elves, the number of people in the monster squad had suffered heavy losses.

Only one Tier 2 Murloc Commander remained in the squad; all the Tier 1 Murlocs had been killed in action, and there were only a dozen or so terrified Tier 1 Kobolds and Gnolls following behind the Murloc Commander.

The remaining Tier 2 Murloc also had deep fear in its eyes, having watched the other four commanders who charged with it get shot to death by arrows along the way.

Its own stamina had also been depleted significantly; its breathing was heavy, its chest heaving violently, yet the thought of running away never crossed its mind...

The Murloc Commander's eyes were filled with constant terror.

More than 30% of the Elves' arrow attacks were aimed at these commanders.

Although it struggled to resist and continuously deflected the arrows, the endless attacks directly ground its other four companions to death...

At this moment, the Archer Elves had stopped attacking, and the battlefield fell into a brief silence, save for the heavy panting of the enemies.

Thranduil looked at the disheveled Murloc Commander, shook his head, and waved his hand gently.

The ready-to-go Swordsmen immediately charged out quickly.

Among them, a squad specifically formed by five Elves charged towards the only Tier 2 Murloc on the opposite side with a clear goal.

The Murloc Commander was now questioning its fish life.

It stuck the fish bone into the ground and leaned on it, breathing heavily.

Seeing the five Tier 1 Elves rushing towards it excitedly, it was immediately furious and screeched, "@¥...#¥...@#@"

The meaning was, "This is simply bullying! Taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable state, what kind of hero is that? Come and fight me one-on-one!"

Lin Ye, who was stepping on the clouds, could naturally understand the Murloc's words.

He was also very curious at this moment; the intelligence of this Tier 2 Murloc Commander seemed to be suspiciously high~

Normally, a Tier 3 Murloc in the wild only possesses the intelligence of a twelve-year-old human, and a Tier 4 Murloc possesses the thinking ability of a normal 18-year-old human.

The comical Tier 2 Murloc Commander in front of him was clearly an existence enhanced by the power of the dream realm...

Although Lin Ye could understand the Murloc's declaration for a one-on-one fight, to the Elves' ears, it was just crazy, provocative screeching.

After the five Elves approached the Tier 2 Murloc, they protected themselves with their shields to form a solid defensive line, while their swords hacked fiercely at the Murloc Commander's neck.

As the Murloc Commander continued to howl angrily, the Elves gripped their weapons with even more strength...

The Murloc Commander hurriedly used the fish bone weapon in its hand to parry the swords stabbing at its neck.

Before it could continue to taunt the Elves, a sudden sharp pain came from its backside...

"You #%%&"

Without the Murloc needing to explain, the Elves could also understand what this meant; it was a very dirty curse...

Before the Tier 2 Murloc could finish turning its head to curse, another sword stabbed straight into the Murloc's abdomen, and the force with which the Murloc was parrying the attacks at its neck suddenly weakened significantly.

The Elves attacking the Tier 2 Murloc's neck did not hesitate any longer, increased the force in their hands, deflected the bone the Murloc Commander was using to block their attacks, and then stabbed fiercely into the Murloc's neck, instantly decapitating it...

The Elf who had stabbed his sword into the Tier 2 Murloc's backside did not feel embarrassed when he saw his teammates' strange looks; he just wiped his sword carefully on the Murloc Commander's body with a look of disgust, wanting to wipe off the Murloc's backside bloodstains from his sword...

After the five Elves joined forces to kill this Tier 2 Murloc, they turned their heads to look around; the other enemies had long been quickly taken out by their companions.

One of the Elves waved his right hand, "Retreat!"

The attacking Elf Swordsmen immediately returned to the team quickly, in a disorganized yet orderly fashion...
