161: Chapter 161 The Twelve Golden Immortals Meet Again, Guang Chengzi Faints for the Second Time

The Xia Dynasty, the Nine Provinces.

After Shi Yan departed and the Human Race Karma had been distributed, the Twelve Golden Immortals finally gathered once more.

Above the Nine Heavens.

Guangchengzi, held by Chijingzi, stood to one side along with the other eight Golden Immortals, including Manjushri, Golden Immortal Samantabhadra, Daoist Cihang, and Master Taiyi.

Their gazes were fixed rigidly on the three standing side-by-side opposite them: Que Liusun, Venerable Daoxing, and Master Lingbao. Their expressions were hideous to the extreme.

Especially Que Liusun; the thick Dao aura of the Quasi-Saint level slowly permeated his surroundings, no longer the aura of a Grand Unity Golden Immortal that had been on par with theirs in the past.

That was the Quasi-Saint cultivation, a Realm that all living beings of the Primordial world dreamed of, a state difficult to reach even after exhausting countless aeons of cultivation!

The arms with which Chijingzi held Guangchengzi trembled slightly; his face stiffened, and his heart felt both sour and bitter.

Among the Chan Sect, he was the Disciple most favored by Revered Master after Guangchengzi, and he usually considered himself the Second Senior Brother.

He had believed that among the Chan Sect Disciples, he would be the third to reach the Quasi-Saint Realm, following Guangchengzi and Immortal Nanji.

He never imagined that Que Liusun, whom he and Guangchengzi had ostracized for forming his own small group, would actually become a Quasi-Saint first.

Daoist Cihang stood to the side, her brows locked in a frown, her eyes filled with disbelief.

She had previously felt pity, thinking it a shame that the three of them—Que Liusun and the others—had offended Guangchengzi and would have a difficult future. She did not expect that in just a few short years, when they met again, Que Liusun would have become a Quasi-Saint!

Rising to the heavens in a single step, towering above all his fellow Disciples—this disparity left her feeling aggrieved, and even her Dao Heart rippled with unease.

The other Golden Immortals either showed jealousy, eyes filled with unwillingness, or wore complex expressions; not one of them could face Que Liusun calmly at this moment.

The fellow Disciples who were once on equal footing now had a chasm of Realms between them in the blink of an eye.

Venerable Daoxing and Master Lingbao stood by Que Liusun's side. Feeling the strange gazes of their fellow Disciples, although they felt some trepidation, they mostly felt the stability of a settled matter.

They had bet correctly! By helping Que Liusun become a Quasi-Saint, they now had a Quasi-Saint ally by their side. Even upon returning to Kunlun Mountain, they no longer needed to fear Guangchengzi's suppression.

Especially with Guangchengzi currently unconscious in Chijingzi's arms—it was uncertain who would be suppressing whom in the future.

Just in this dead silence, the fingertips of Guangchengzi, who was in Chijingzi's arms, suddenly trembled slightly.

"Senior Brother has woken up!" Chijingzi noticed it immediately and hurriedly whispered, instantly breaking the silence on the clouds.

Everyone turned their heads in unison to look. They saw Guangchengzi slowly open his eyes, his murky, unfocused pupils reappearing.

Guangchengzi first felt his spiritual platform ache unbearably, his Meridians burning as if scorched by a raging fire.

The dizziness from the previous rage had not yet dissipated, and what echoed repeatedly in his mind were those three streaks of golden light of Karma that should have belonged to him but had flown away.

"Who am I? Where am I? My Karma..."

Guangchengzi turned his neck blankly, his gaze slowly sweeping over the surrounding fellow Disciples, finally fixing on Que Liusun, whose body radiated the Dao aura of a Quasi-Saint.

That majestic aura, far exceeding that of a Grand Unity Golden Immortal and sufficient to make him feel oppressed, slammed into his eyes, clearly and without concealment.

Guangchengzi's pupils suddenly contracted to the extreme.

He opened his mouth, and a hoarse, dry sound escaped his throat; he could not speak a complete sentence.

"Impossible... Que Liusun's cultivation was far inferior to mine before, how is it possible... how could he step into the Quasi-Saint Realm so quickly?"

"It must be an illusion! It was because of the rage that just overwhelmed my heart, causing Heart Demons to grow and cloud my mind, that I am seeing such an absurd scene!"

"I am the head Disciple of the Chan Sect, the one Yuanshi Tianzun values most, the teacher of Dayu—this Human Race Karma and the Quasi-Saint cultivation should have been mine!"

"How could it have become Que Liusun's?!"

"Demon... Heart Demon...!"

Guangchengzi trembled violently, his eyes turning blood-red, his Qi and blood surging crazily again; his just-awakened spiritual platform was instantly swallowed once more by the monstrous fire of jealousy.

He simply could not accept the fact before him.

The next second, a muffled "Ugh" was heard! Guangchengzi rolled his eyes back.

The sliver of consciousness that had just recovered completely shattered. His body went limp, and he fainted again without warning, even more decisively and miserably than the last time he had collapsed.

The dignified head Disciple of the Chan Sect, a Peak Grand Unity Golden Immortal, had actually been backlashed by Heart Demons and fainted twice in such a short time.

"Senior Brother!" "Senior Brother Guangchengzi!"

Chijingzi hurriedly used his strength, holding Guangchengzi's Dao body tightly with both hands. The other seven Golden Immortals also surrounded him.

Looking at his deathly pale face and weak aura, they were all filled with mixed emotions.

Que Liusun and the other two watched coldly from the sidelines, without the slightest sympathy, let alone any guilt. There was only disdain.

The three of them communicated via their Primordial Spirits.

Master Lingbao said coldly, "Hmph, this Guangchengzi is truly useless! To think he fainted again."

Venerable Daoxing said, "I really don't understand why Revered Master favored him so much before."

Que Liusun said, "It was nothing more than his cultivation being ahead, plus his glib tongue, which made Revered Master happy and led to rewards of Spirit Treasures."

One step ahead, every step ahead.

"But who would have thought it—looking at their aura, they didn't even get a sliver of Karma."

Master Lingbao and Venerable Daoxing agreed upon hearing this. The former said with a sigh, "The Human Race is indeed not so easy to take advantage of."

The latter mocked, "Karma, Karma—not only did they not get any, but they also gratuitously contributed so many of our sect's Cultivation Techniques and Divine Abilities."

"The position of the head of the Twelve Golden Immortals should be stripped from him."

Returning to reality. Que Liusun scanned the circle, and then his voice resounded, imbued with Quasi-Saint magical power.

"Alright, this place is not suitable for a long stay. Let us return to Kunlun Mountain first!" The voice was calm but carried the majesty of a Quasi-Saint Senior.

No one among the group refuted him. Master Lingbao even stepped forward, bowed respectfully, and said, "Yes! We will follow Senior Brother's arrangements!"

His tone was as respectful as if he were facing Yuanshi Tianzun. He was the spitting image of a lackey.

Chijingzi felt disdain and contempt in his heart. Why didn't he act so enthusiastically when facing Guangchengzi and him before?

The group of Twelve Golden Immortals, divided into two distinct factions, walked through the air and fled outside the Mortal territory.

Not long after, the group stepped out of the boundary of the Human Race's territory, leaving the Human Race Domain that isolated Heavenly Secrets and concealed the deductions of Saints.

Almost at the same instant—Kunlun Mountain, Yuxu Palace.

Yuanshi Tianzun, who was sitting atop the auspicious clouds, suddenly opened his eyes. Sharp light shot from his eyes, and the Saint aura around his body fluctuated instantly.

He had been waiting here for a long time. He was sensing the Disciples' aura with full anticipation, calculating how he should reward Guangchengzi.

But the moment the aura of the Twelve Golden Immortals clearly entered his Divine Sense—Yuanshi Tianzun's Dao body swayed slightly.

The anticipation and arrogance on his face froze instantly, replaced by utter astonishment and distraction.

"How is this possible! Why is it Que Liusun?!" "What happened to Guangchengzi?" Why was he still unconscious?

"Why do the nine of them still have Tribulation Qi and resentment on them? And why is the resentment on Guangchengzi even heavier?!"

He perceived clearly: Que Liusun, Early Stage Quasi-Saint, with a solid Foundation, had already beheaded his Evil Corpse.

Venerable Daoxing and Master Lingbao, Grand Unity Golden Immortal Perfection, with steady auras, and the Tribulation Qi in their bodies completely dissipated.

Yet his most valued, most proud, and highly anticipated head Disciple, Guangchengzi, not only failed to break through to the Quasi-Saint Realm, but his Grand Unity Golden Immortal cultivation was in disarray, his Dao Fruit was damaged, and his aura was weak to the extreme.
