161: A reverse invasion of Earth!
A chorus of laughter immediately erupted in the hall, filled with extreme mockery and disdain for the distant Blue Star and the so-called "Kraken".
They seemed to already envision Golosh's army sweeping through, crushing that insignificant resistance along with the hope of an entire civilization, trampling it all into the mud of the future.
They did not know that the "little octopus" they spoke of had already twisted off Golosh's head, devoured the entire Expeditionary Force, and... was now casting a cold gaze upon their supposedly impregnable deep-sea royal court.
Amidst this atmosphere filled with extreme mockery of Blue Star and that "little octopus",
a scaled messenger, like a startled barracuda, burst through the water curtain of the palace gate,
crashing heavily onto the cold obsidian floor.
He didn't even have time to adjust his posture, his hoarse voice, filled with unbelievable panic, ripped through the royal court's "harmony":
"Report—!!! Outer Realm alert! A human army has breached the plane barrier and appeared at the kingdom's border, the Reef Wasteland! They... they are flying the banner of Blue Star! The leader's Realm is as high as... 130th-tier Awakening Level!!"
"Buzz—"
It was as if an invisible giant hand had choked everyone's throats.
All the sneers, whispers, and lazy yawns in the hall were abruptly cut off at this moment!
The air solidified, as if it had stopped flowing.
The mockery and indifference that had been on every face instantly froze, then shattered, violently replaced by emotions named "absurdity" and "astonishment."
"Blue Star?!"
Princess Selina, as if stung by a barb, sprang up from her soft coral couch, her charming face twisted, filled with ghost-like disbelief,
"That muddy plane that Golosh led troops to 'cleanse'?! Not only were they not crushed, but... but they dared to attack us?! What exactly is that good-for-nothing Golosh doing?!"
A low-level plane, which they regarded as a farm ready for casual harvesting, not only did not wail and perish under the iron hooves of the Expeditionary Force, but instead... counter-invaded the Shadow Kingdom?!
For thousands of years, only the Shadow banner had been planted across all seas. When had an enemy ever dared to bring war to their territory?
This was an unprecedented and utterly humiliating disgrace!
"Hehe... haha!"
Blood Scale Supervisor Baho was the first to react. His arms suddenly shook, and the heavy bone armor on his body clanged, as his 160th-tier berserk aura exploded, stirring the surrounding air into countless chaotic eddies.
The flabby flesh on his face trembled, and his eyes burned with offended rage and extreme disdain,
"I seriously suspect that scoundrel Golosh didn't even lift a finger! He's probably having too much fun playing with those lowly human women on Blue Star, so much so that he doesn't even know his own home has been infiltrated by these ants!"
His massive foot crushed the ground, and he turned to walk out of the hall, his voice like rolling thunder:
"Your Majesty! Let me go! I will lead the Blood Scale Guard to crush these bugs who don't know their place! I'll tear out their bones and pave them into a new sea route to Blue Star!"
"Wait!"
From the throne, King Salazar's cold voice, like a deep-sea cold current, instantly froze Baho's steps.
Salazar slowly raised his eyes, and a hint of solemnity flashed for the first time in his abyssal vertical pupils.
"Baho, when will you learn to use your brain to think, instead of just waving your claws?"
His gaze swept over the ministers below, finally resting on the always silent Minister of Internal Affairs, Moros,
"Moros, what do you think?"
The astute Moros slowly bowed, his tentacles unconsciously swaying, his voice low and carrying a hint of imperceptible chill:
"Your Majesty is wise. When things are abnormal, there must be a demon. An army from Blue Star, not only capable of breaking through the plane barrier, but its leader also possessing 130th-tier Awakening Level strength... this is by no means an accident. We have, perhaps, severely underestimated that plane before. Scale Lord Golosh and his Expeditionary Force... I fear... have already met with misfortune."
"Hiss—"
Within the great hall, a chorus of suppressed gasps instantly rose.
All the ministers' and generals' faces drained of color, their eyes filled with horror and disbelief.
Golosh, a 150th-tier Intermediate Awakening, an invincible general!
Five great legions, 200,000 elites!
A powerful force that had conquered countless planes... annihilated in a low-level plane where Spiritual Energy Revival had only occurred for thirty days?
How was this possible?!
This was even more outrageous than the reversal of the Star Sea!
"Giggle giggle..."
A bell-like laughter, yet exceptionally grating at this moment, broke the dead silence.
Selina had completely risen, taking two strangely curved scimitars handed to her by a maid. Her crimson tongue lightly licked the sharp blades, her eyes glinting with cruel and excited light.
"Father King, Lord Moros, if you ask me, you are all too cautious."
She swayed her waist, her scales reflecting a cold, eerie light,
"Blue Star, after all, is just a nest of ants. I guess they merely used some underhanded scheme to temporarily trap that brute Golosh. 'Defeated'? Heh heh... it sounds laughable."
She walked to Baho's side, standing shoulder to shoulder with him, her scimitars pointing out of the hall, as if she already saw the bloody hunting ground:
"Now, I'm actually quite intrigued by these audacious Blue Star ants. Father King, let Baho and me go together. I want to personally cut open their chests and see what ridiculous confidence these bugs have to dare set foot on the sacred territory of my Shadow Kingdom!"
Salazar's deep, shadowy gaze lingered on his daughter and fierce general for a moment, then he slowly nodded.
"Hmm, with Selina joining, there will be no mishaps."
He paused slightly, as if recalling something insignificant, and added:
"However, the Abyssal Demon Dragon Galakron has recently been complaining that the slave flesh is bland and he's tired of it. Take him along too, let him taste these humans from another Realm... for a change of pace."
"Giggle giggle..."
Selina let out a string of delightful giggles, twirling her scimitars into chilling blossoms, her voice sweet as honey, yet laced with bone-deep coldness:
"Father King, I... am already starting to feel sorry for those poor humans."
Her voice was sweet as honey, yet it carried a bone-chilling coldness:
"I estimate that stepping onto the land of the Shadow Kingdom will be their last... and most regrettable decision in this life."
...Star Sea Merchant Guild, Circular Council Chamber.
A huge circular light screen floated in the center of the council chamber. The Directors, seated in high-backed chairs, were shrouded in soft light, and the atmosphere was solemn.
"Since the resolution has been made, the investment process for Galakron of the Shadow Kingdom is officially initiated."
President Nicola's aged voice echoed through the hall. His gaze swept over everyone, finally settling on Lucia,
