119: Chapter 119 Holy crap, a box!
The night passed without incident.
With the firepower network and detection range set up by Luo Ning providing a safety net, everyone slept extremely soundly on this treasure island.
The next morning, a crisp system notification sounded right on time in Zhou An's mind.
[100% absolute occupation of the "Gengzi-7792" core resource island has been achieved!]
[Island-wide vision has been unlocked!]
[Notification: The current island's coordinates have been highlighted on the region-wide radar!]
"Whew—finally hit 100% progress."
In the control room, Luo Ning stretched long and hard, her perfect curves fully revealed under her tight-fitting training uniform.
Although she had stayed up all night watching the radar, her expression was exceptionally excited.
Zhou An walked over with a coat draped over his shoulders. He glanced at the holographic map of the island, which had turned completely green, and nodded with satisfaction: "You've worked hard. Now that the vision is fully unlocked, let's officially start surveying the island's ecological resources today."
"I won't be going out today."
Luo Ning turned and leaned against the console, pointing to the flickering red dots on the edge of the screen: "Once occupation is complete and coordinates are highlighted, fearless reconnaissance planes have already started loitering ten kilometers away. I need to stay here to hold the center, be ready to deploy the firepower network, and keep an eye on those fully automated mining assembly lines."
As she spoke, she tossed a silver, diamond-shaped metal key over. Zhou An caught it.
"This is a low-altitude hovercraft I threw together using spare parts. It's a convertible with an excellent field of view."
Luo Ning raised an eyebrow.
"You'll have to stoop to being a full-time driver today and accompany Muzi to have a good look around the island."
Zhou An nodded. Just as he put the key into his pocket, Luo Ning suddenly leaned in close.
She stood on her tiptoes, extended her fair fingers to gently straighten Zhou An's collar, and then her mischievous eyes narrowed slightly, a glimmer of cunning and warning flashing in her gaze. She lowered her voice, speaking into Zhou An's ear with a breath as fragrant as an orchid, audible only to the two of them:
"Boss~ when you take our Muzi out for a ride, keep your hands on the steering wheel, okay? If I catch you 'snacking' out here in the wilderness, be careful, or I might add a little something to your drink tonight."
Zhou An couldn't help but laugh, unceremoniously reaching out to pinch her soft cheek: "What are you thinking about all day? Alright, watch the house, and call me if anything happens."
"Blehh, hurry up and go!"
Luo Ning stuck out her tongue and turned back to the console.
Ten minutes later, the hatch at the bottom of the fortress opened.
A silver, two-seater hovercraft slid out silently. The vehicle had no wheels; the anti-gravity generator at the bottom emitted a faint, deep blue glow, hovering steadily half a meter above the ground.
Zhou An sat in the driver's seat, gripping the joystick with one hand.
In the passenger seat, Li Muzi was wearing an explorer's outfit, carrying a large specimen collection bag on her back. She sat upright, clutching a holographic data recorder tightly in both hands.
"Hold on tight, we're off."
Zhou An pushed the throttle, and the hovercraft instantly turned into a silver streak of light, skimming over the purple crystal grass and speeding toward the unknown regions deep within the island.
The wind whistled by their ears, and the scenery on both sides flew backward. As they ventured deeper into the island, the surrounding environment became increasingly bizarre and surreal.
Huge crystal tree crowns blocked out the sky, and one could even see ribbons of free-floating spiritual energy drifting slowly through the air.
Muzi quickly adapted. Her eyes were instantly ignited by the rich vegetation around her, and she immediately entered work mode.
"Boss, slow down! Ten o'clock, to the front left!"
Zhou An complied, hovering the vehicle near a protrusion on a cliff.
Muzi held up the recorder and pressed the scan button on a cluster of mushrooms glowing with a cold, deep blue light in a crevice of the cliff.
"Beep—recording successful! That is an Epic-grade [Frost Ghost Mushroom], a relatively rare plant."
Muzi excitedly made quick annotations on the recorder, then packaged the coordinates and sent them to the fortress hub.
"Ningning! Found a high-value target, requesting swarm collection support!"
Luo Ning's efficient voice soon came through the communicator: "Received. Three micro-collection robots have been dispatched and are expected to arrive at the coordinates in two minutes. You guys keep driving forward."
And so, Zhou An drove the hovercraft slowly ahead to scout the path, while Muzi sat obediently in the passenger seat, acting as the "radar."
Whenever they found valuable plants or native mineral stocks, Muzi didn't even need to get out of the car; she would just scan, record, and send the coordinates.
Luo Ning, back at the base, would precisely dispatch specialized robots to dig them up by the roots, package them, and send them directly into the cultivation chambers in the ecological zone.
The coordination between the three was extremely smooth.
Zhou An leaned back in the driver's seat, watching the robots laden with goods fly overhead one after another, and couldn't help but sigh: "This is the real life. Just by moving your lips, resources grow legs and run into the warehouse themselves."
In the blink of an eye, it was noon.
The hovercraft glided steadily into the hangar at the bottom of the fortress. In the span of a morning, Zhou An had driven Muzi around, sweeping through about 20% of the island's outer perimeter like autumn leaves in a gale.
As soon as the two walked from the hangar to the temporary ecological laboratory on the first floor, they saw Shen Xingyue wearing her spotless white lab coat, standing in front of a precision cold-light analyzer. Holographic data was reflected on her lenses, and she was holding a [Frost Ghost Mushroom] that emitted a cold, deep blue light, carefully performing slicing and spiritual energy activity tests.
"Xingyue, this extract is good stuff, make sure you don't spill it!"
Muzi immediately rushed over, her eyes shining as she looked at her "spoils" from the morning.
"Don't worry. The extract of this mushroom is very special. I'm trying to combine it with other herbs that have similar properties. If it succeeds, I might be able to concoct a higher-grade medicine." Shen Xingyue didn't even look up, her hands as steady as a mountain.
"Boss, Muzi! Stop messing with those plants and come over to eat!"
Zhang Ming's booming voice came from the living area.
To save time, lunch was simple: a pot of fragrant Spirit Lamb noodles, accompanied by a few dishes of pickled vegetables, but it was still a luxurious delicacy.
Zhou An walked over, picked up a large bowl of noodles, and slurped it down.
After filling his stomach, he leaned back on the sofa and casually summoned the system panel, intending to see how the Activity Week was going.
At this sight, even Zhou An couldn't help but be stunned.
[Island Siege Battle Real-time Data Panel]
Total Islands: 100,000
Occupied: 100,000
Remaining Unclaimed: 0
All 100,000 core resource islands have been claimed!
Meanwhile, the chat channel had completely shifted from yesterday's "recruiting teammates" to unprincipled "mutual doxxing" and "strategic nuclear deterrence."
The various races and factions, having truly lost their tempers, began frantically exposing the island coordinates of hostile factions in the public channel in order to muddy the waters.
"Coordinates (882, 104), the main force of the Orcs' Bone Crusher Tribe is there! They just went through a bitter battle, their shields are heavily damaged, everyone go grab it!"
"Bullshit! Coordinates (219, 555) is the Elf Race's [High-Tier Spirit Wood Island]! It's full of broads who only know how to shoot arrows; go burn all their trees!"
"I'm selling out the Goblin Chamber of Commerce's coordinates (400, 12)! They mined Grade 6 Purple Gold on that island! Go grab it!"
The entire chat lobby had become a transparent "death bulletin board." The system only announced coordinates, but with the mutual doxxing, it was almost equivalent to making all information about occupied islands public.
Zhou An scrolled down the information feed with interest, but suddenly, his gaze stopped on an inconspicuous anonymous post.
"Coordinates (423, 112), Resource Island Gengzi-7792. Occupied by an unknown force of human freelancers. They have a fortress with powerful stealth capabilities and terrifying firepower. Whoever has the teeth for it, go take a bite!"
"Tsk, the news travels really fast. They leaked our coordinates so quickly."
Zhou An sneered and casually closed the chat interface.
He stood up and walked to the main console.
"Have you detected any signs of reconnaissance?"
Luo Ning nodded, zoomed in on the radar interface, and pointed to several faint red phantom images on the periphery of the island's perimeter: "Since the occupation was completed, there have been successive probing signals from high-frequency radar outside our ten-kilometer perimeter. There were also a few high-altitude reconnaissance planes with stealth coatings that loitered around the edge."
"However, they seemed wary of the dense anti-aircraft firepower we set up last night and the radar lock warnings, so they didn't dare to come in. They took a look from afar and quickly retreated."
"Mm."
"We need to be careful. These past two days were just appetizers; everyone was busy staking their claims. From today on, with the islands fully occupied and interests fixed, the remaining five days will be a true 'meat grinder' where it's kill or be killed."
Zhou An turned around, looking at Luo Ning and the others, including Zhang Ming who had just walked over: "Those large guilds like the Sky Engine, or the main Orc guilds, have deep foundations and huddle together for warmth; ordinary people don't dare to provoke them."
"But we are different. In the eyes of others, although our ship has fierce firepower, we don't have a guild prefix; we're just a pack of lone wolves without reinforcements. Now everyone nearby knows there's a fat sheep on this island…"
"EVA, for the next five days, it doesn't matter who it is; as long as they dare to cross the ten-kilometer perimeter by even half a step…"
"Don't bother with warnings, vaporize them with firepower."
