130: Chapter 130 Being Targeted

In the afternoon, Ivy and Sheila did not stay inside the fortress the whole time.

After receiving permission from Zhou An, the two took the elevator back to the surface's temporary prefab housing area. Within this area, which had been designated as a safe zone by the system, they were free to move about.

Stepping on the soft, purple crystalline grass and breathing in the rich psionic air, if not for the cruel slaughter outside, this place would be nothing short of a legendary Garden of Eden. However, neither of them was in the mood to appreciate the scenery at this moment.

Sheila sat on the steps in front of the prefab house, a pale blue virtual system screen floating before her. Her hands were tightly clasped together, her knuckles turning white from the excessive force.

They opened the guild's internal chat interface, which was filled with various logistics schedules and requests for help; it was only after a long time that one message mentioned them.

[White Feather Guild - Vice President: Weaver]: "Ivy! If you are still alive, listen up—do not come back under any circumstances!"

"Our defensive line has completely collapsed... The airspace has fallen, and a large number of our brothers and sisters have been killed in battle. The wolf pack from the Blood Moon Guild is still tailing and hunting us down."

"We've also been separated from the Guild Leader and cannot contact him for the time being, but the Great Elder replied that he is currently also leading people in an escape."

"I will take them and try to head forward to seek protection from the Winged King's guild, to see if they might take us in for the sake of our shared race. If you are in a safe place, stay hidden and absolutely do not come out to look for us! Good luck, and may the Wind God protect you..."

After reading this message, Sheila's tears fell onto the back of her hand like beads from a broken string.

Ivy stood behind her, watching the words on the light screen that were filled with infinite despair and the tone of a final farewell. Her heart felt as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, and even her breathing carried the scent of blood.

Home was gone.

The clansmen who had once fought side by side with them were either dead or had fled, and now they even had to beg for mercy from the Winged King who had always looked down upon their "peripheral bloodline."

Ivy closed her eyes in pain and tilted her head back to keep the tears from falling. Zhou An was right; as they were now, they didn't even have the qualifications to go back and throw their lives away.

...

Meanwhile, in another airspace more than 400 kilometers away from Island Gengzi-7792.

This was a resource island that had just been baptized by blood and war.

At the highest point of the island, the pure white flag that had originally symbolized the Winged race's [White Feather Guild] had been broken, replaced by the crimson crescent flag fluttering in the wind.

In the sky, a dozen or so ferocious Orc heavy warships hovered silently, like victors showing off their power.

Inside the spacious command room of one of the main warships, a wild and bloody victory celebration was underway.

The supreme leader of this fleet was an extremely burly Wolfman commander—Jasper, the very Wolfman who had crushed Ivy's squad.

At this moment, he was holding a giant wine vessel, gulping down the premium fruit wine looted from the Winged race's warehouse.

And at his feet, this once-sacred command room had turned into a shocking purgatory.

Dozens of captured Winged maidens were chained by their necks with thick raw iron chains, kneeling on the cold metal floor like livestock, sobbing in despair. Even more hair-raising was that an adjutant beside Jasper was draped in an extremely ornate "coat."

That coat had been woven from countless pure white and cyan feathers! Moreover, the roots of those feathers still bore undried dark red bloodstains. At the adjutant's feet, several Winged maidens who had lost their wings were curled up in pools of blood in pain, twitching weakly.

"Hahaha! The wine of these bird-people is really potent! It tastes so much better than that sour ale of ours!"

Jasper let out a drunken hiccup, stepped onto the table beside him, his eyes full of satisfaction.

"Commander, this feather coat is also top-tier; it's not only light to wear, but it also has windproof and warming effects!"

The adjutant wearing the feather coat grinned hideously, deliberately spinning around to show off in front of the girls whose wings had been ripped out.

Just as this group of beasts was reveling, the command room door was pushed open, and a radar operator walked in quickly.

"Report, Commander Jasper! While our high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft were searching for the remnants of the Winged race, they captured the signal of an unknown core resource island more than 400 kilometers to the south!"

The radar operator projected a holographic map into mid-air, pointing to an exceptionally bright purple dot on it: "The energy reading is extremely high, at least at the level of a large resource island! And looking at the activity in the surrounding airspace, there doesn't seem to be any large guild fleet stationed there."

"Oh?"

Jasper put down the golden wine vessel in his hand, his eerie green wolf eyes locked onto the coordinates, a greedy, ferocious glint instantly surging in the depths of his eyes.

"There are still several days left before this offensive and defensive battle ends."

Jasper stroked his chin, which was covered in gray fur, and his mouth spread into a ferocious arc.

"Since we've run into it, we might as well just swallow this piece of meat!"

"Commander, we just finished fighting the White Feather Guild's squad; shouldn't we rest and reorganize first?" the adjutant asked with some hesitation.

"Rest and reorganize?! While the brothers are still bloodthirsty, we press forward directly!"

Jasper stood up abruptly: "Guild Leader Finn has given the word; as long as we have enough merit, we can exchange it for LV5 core components at the guild headquarters! If we can take down another large resource island this time, not only can we upgrade several brothers at the peak of LV4 in the fleet to LV5, making our fleet rank among the top in the branch..."

"Awoooo—!!"

Upon hearing this, the Wolfmen in the command room instantly erupted into howls like wild wolves.

Under Jasper's command, the fleet began to operate once again.

The roar of the massive engines tore through the clouds, and the fleet changed direction, heading straight toward Island Gengzi-7792.

...

In the afternoon on Island Gengzi-7792, the purple crystalline canopy filtered the dazzling sunlight, casting dappled and soft light and shadows on the grass.

Lin Qing had finished her postpartum confinement, and her body had recovered extremely well under the nourishment of the ingredients. She held little Zhang Kong, who was blowing bubbles, in her arms, and with Zhang Ming's support, they slowly strolled to the vicinity of the temporary prefab housing area.

"Yi ya—"

The little one waved his chubby little hands and let out a crisp cry, instantly attracting the attention of Ivy and Sheila, who were sitting on the steps in a daze.

The two Winged maidens looked at the fragile yet vibrant human infant, their eyes revealing a pure curiosity and tenderness.

But they knew the rules well, knowing that their status as aliens and the huge pair of wings on their backs might frighten the child, so they kept a distance of over ten meters and did not rashly approach.
