50: Chapter 50 Resistance

In the pitch-black night sky, the a70 fighter, guided by radar, caught up to the tail of the Black Iron Guild fleet in just over an hour.

"Captain, we have entered the public broadcast range."

EVA's cold voice rang out inside the cockpit.

At this moment, Zhou An's SAN value was stuck at a dangerously low 20 points. His eyes were scarlet, and the veins on his neck were throbbing visibly due to extreme excitement.

He jerked the broadcast communicator down, and his hoarse, violent voice exploded over the Black Iron Guild:

"Guild Leader! I've come to collect! Hand over Zhang Ming's ship intact, and I might show mercy by leaving your corpses intact!"

This incredibly arrogant declaration instantly spread across the entire Black Iron Guild fleet.

On the flagship, Guild Leader's face turned livid upon hearing this voice. He rushed to the console, pressed the reply button on the public channel, and roared: "Zhou An! Do you really think you're invincible, you motherfucker?! You dare to come and scream in front of my fleet of hundreds with nothing but a junk fighter! Fire! Blast him into dust for me!"

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The anti-aircraft guns on the Black Iron Guild's three LV2 medium merchant ships roared instantly, weaving a dense, blinding web of fire in the polar night that rushed toward the a70 fighter!

"Overestimating your capabilities."

He had no intention of retreating; instead, he shoved the joystick forward, and the a70 fighter advanced rather than pulled back. Under Zhou An's precise maneuvering, the fighter wove through the gaps in the dense anti-aircraft fire with an eerie trajectory, moving like a phantom.

"Luo Ning, it's your turn to shine!"

Zhou An roared and decisively pressed the button to open the side hatch.

"Received, Boss!"

Luo Ning had long been unable to contain herself.

She shrieked with excitement, leaping out of the fighter like a purple meteor, diving straight into the enemy formation!

"Tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!"

Zhou An piloted the fighter with one hand, while his other hand reached violently out of the cabin, the Ripper roaring crazily!

The terrifying penetrating power of the legendary-grade weapon was fully displayed at this moment. The bullets were like the Grim Reaper's scythe, easily tearing through the Black Iron merchant ship's laughable LV2 energy shield.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The main guns on the merchant ship's deck didn't even have time to turn before Zhou An picked them off one by one, detonating them with precise shots!

"Hahaha! Come and taste this 'firework' specially made by this beautiful girl!"

Luo Ning laughed wildly in mid-air, her jetpack emitting a dazzling purple light. The mechanical structures on her shoulders flipped, revealing two small but dense rocket launcher pods.

"Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-whoosh!"

Dozens of micro-rockets, trailing long tails of flame, poured down toward the two escort merchant ships like a deadly swarm of bees!

To increase the lethality, Luo Ning had added a trace amount of highly explosive, unstable agent into these special warheads.

"Boom-boom-boom!"

Chain explosions thundered through the silent polar night. The decks of the two LV2 escort merchant ships were instantly riddled with holes, flames shooting into the sky. The shockwave from the explosions tossed the guards on the deck into the air like tattered ragdolls, sending them thousands of meters high.

"Lunatics... these two are absolute lunatics!"

Guild Leader watched in terror as his firepower points vanished from the radar, cold sweat instantly soaking his entire body.

He had thought the opponent only had one fighter and that he could easily force it back by relying on the fleet's crossfire net.

But he never expected that these two could crush them, and that even their individual combat capabilities would be this terrifying!

This wasn't a dogfight at all; it was a one-sided slaughter with no suspense!

In less than five minutes, the Black Iron Guild's two escort ships, which they prided themselves on, were completely silenced, their decks a scene of utter ruin.

And that LV3 flagship, which Guild Leader viewed as an absolute barrier, had its seemingly thick energy shield rendered as fragile as paper under the fire of Zhou An's legendary-grade submachine gun and Luo Ning's saturation fire.

"Screech—!"

Accompanied by a piercing sound of shattering glass, the flagship's energy shield collapsed with a bang!

"Luo Ning, cover me!"

Zhou An roared, and the a70 fighter performed a sharp maneuver, hovering outside the massive panoramic porthole of the flagship's bridge.

Zhou An exerted force with his legs, shooting out of the cockpit like a cannonball. His terrifying Tier 3 strength smashed through the high-strength bulletproof glass, and he crashed heavily into the interior of the bridge!

"Bang!"

Following closely behind was Luo Ning, who landed lightly beside Zhou An with her jetpack, her weapon already loaded.

As the porthole was kicked in, biting cold wind mixed with glass shards poured into the bridge. Guild Leader and the HR manager were scared out of their wits, scrambling and crawling into a corner.

"Security! Where is the defense force? How the fuck did you get in here?!" Guild Leader trembled all over, pointing at the two uninvited guests, his voice wavering.

Zhou An walked closer, stepping on the shattered glass. His eyes were bloodshot, his pupils constricted to pinpoints, and the veins on his neck were throbbing visibly.

"Hehehe... Guild Leader, those iron scrap heaps outside can't stop me." Zhou An tilted his head, a low, beast-like growl emanating from his throat as if guarding its food. "I told you, I came to collect. Have you chosen the wood for your coffin yet?"

Beside him, Luo Ning was eager to stir up trouble. The previous barrage of firepower had clearly completely ignited her violent nature.

She held her submachine gun, pointing the muzzle back and forth between Guild Leader and the manager's heads, excitedly suggesting: "Boss, these two fat guys look pretty oily. Why don't we just blast them? We can cut their heads off and take them back for biochemical experiments, slice them up to observe how the neural pathways of such black-hearted capitalists grow; it would definitely be of great scientific value~"

Feeling the nauseating mental corruption radiating from Zhou An, Guild Leader's psychological defenses completely collapsed. These two weren't just some survivors; they were a pair of absolute lunatics!

"Don't shoot! Let's talk about this!"

Guild Leader's knees went weak, and he fell to the ground with a thud, kowtowing repeatedly without any dignity. "The ship! I'll return the ship! That kid Zhang Ming's starter vehicle is locked on the deck. Here is the key! I'll unlock it for you right away!"

He frantically pulled a glowing system key from his chest and handed it over with trembling hands.

Zhou An snatched the key and weighed it in his hand.

"On such a cold day, I traveled all this way just to catch a cold, and you think you can dismiss me with just one junk ship?"

Zhou An stepped forward, grabbed Guild Leader by the collar with one hand, and lifted his two-hundred-plus-pound body into the air like he was holding a chick.

"Mental distress compensation, fighter fuel costs, ammunition consumption fees—add it all up, and I'll give you a friendly price. Fifty thousand Tier 4 materials. Hand it over, and buy your life."

"Fif... Fifty thousand?!" Guild Leader's vision went black, and he nearly passed out on the spot. "Boss Zhou, you're asking for my life! That's the entire savings our guild of hundreds of people squeezed out over several months, preparing to push for LV4! I really can't take it out..."

"You can't take it out? Fine." Zhou An released his hand cleanly, and Guild Leader fell heavily to the ground.

Zhou An didn't even turn his head: "Luo Ning, do it. Just leave the body intact; don't smash the brain."

"Got it!" Luo Ning immediately pulled the bolt, the muzzle of her gun ruthlessly pressed against Guild Leader's forehead.

Feeling the cold touch of the muzzle, Guild Leader screamed until his voice cracked: "I have it! Yes, yes, yes! I'll give it! I'll give everything!"

If he was dead, what use would materials be!

Watching the supplies in the guild account be instantly wiped out, Guild Leader slumped on the ground like a dead dog, his face ashen.

Zhou An didn't bother with them anymore. He walked to the broken porthole and gestured; the a70 fighter hovering outside moved closer in perfect sync. Under the threat of Luo Ning's gun, Zhou An successfully unlocked the anchor for the LV1 starter vehicle on the deck and secured it firmly with the A70's mechanical tow cable.

"Boss, are we just letting these scumbags go like this?" Luo Ning pouted, looking a bit unsatisfied. "I think we should just blow up their main reactor."

Zhou An suppressed the irritability in his mind and glanced coldly at Guild Leader on the ground: "If we destroy the reactor, the hundreds of innocent freelancers below will freeze to death in this polar night. It's not worth it for these pieces of trash. Let's go."

The two jumped back into the A70. Accompanied by the roar of the plasma engines, the fighter dragged the dilapidated little ship and sped away.

The bridge fell into a deathly silence. Cold wind whistled in, making people shiver uncontrollably.

After a long time, confirming that the pair of lunatic killers had truly gone far away, the HR manager struggled to climb up from the ground, his voice trembling: "Guild... Guild Leader, the cargo hold is empty. What should we do now?"

"What can we do?! Deduct all the rations from those useless people below! Make them increase production and get back to work for me!" Guild Leader roared with a face full of resentment, about to vent his anger.

Just then, a violent crashing sound suddenly came from the heavy alloy door outside the bridge!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

"You son of a bitch, Guild Leader! Get out here!"

"The supplies are all gone; we're going to die anyway, so we might as well rebel!"

"Smash this door open! Take our things back!"

What came from outside was the angry roar of hundreds of low-level survivors who had been oppressed for a long time and were on the edge of despair.

They had all witnessed the one-sided crushing match just now. That Guild Leader, who usually acted high and mighty, had actually knelt and begged for mercy like a dog in front of true powerhouses.

At this moment, the fear of the lower levels completely collapsed, replaced by a violent rage that erupted after being extremely exploited.

"Boom!"

The door finally couldn't withstand it and was smashed open by hundreds of people. A group of survivors holding wrenches, iron rods, and even rocks rushed in with bloodshot eyes.

"You... what do you want?! Where is security? I am the Guild Leader! Do you want to rebel?!" Guild Leader watched this pack of wolf-like laborers, retreating in terror until he fell onto his butt.

"Fuck your Guild Leader!"

The leading laborer smashed a wrench hard into Guild Leader's face, "Brothers, beat this vampire to death!"

The desperate crowd didn't listen to his nonsense at all, instantly swarming up and completely engulfing Guild Leader and those few high-level members.
