140: Chapter 140 The Truth

"Help! Captain Flynn! Someone, come quickly!"

The doctor, dangling in mid-air, face flushed red, struggled desperately while letting out shrill cries for help.

"Let him go, Ivy."

A low, cold male voice came from outside the tent. The curtain was violently pushed aside, and a burly Winged man, clad in a full set of dark silver high-tier battle armor, strode in.

The captain of the guard, Flynn. He was also a Fifth-Tier powerhouse.

Flynn glanced at the mess on the floor and stared coldly at Ivy: "Put him down. The Great Elder just pardoned your incompetence; are you looking for death now?"

"I just want to know where the subordinates I brought back are!"

Ivy did not let go. Her Fifth-Tier psionic energy rippled around her like a physical force, colliding fiercely with Flynn's aura.

"How could they just vanish into thin air?!"

"I advise you not to meddle in other people's business."

Flynn took a step forward, his voice lowered, carrying a hint of warning.

"Just pretend nothing happened tonight and go back to your camp to sleep obediently. This is better for you and for everyone."

"Bullshit! Those are seventeen living human lives! They are the kin I brought back!"

Ivy laughed out of sheer anger, her eyes filled with determination.

"If you don't explain things clearly today, even if I have to tear down this medical district, I will find them!"

"Stubborn fool."

A trace of killing intent flashed in Flynn's eyes. To prevent the matter from escalating and causing panic in the camp, he decided to act immediately.

"Boom!"

The ground beneath Flynn's feet cracked instantly, and his entire body shot out like a heavy battle tank.

Ivy flung the doctor aside and threw a punch to meet him. But her current situation was terrible—her main battleship had been destroyed, all her high-tier weaponry and armor were lost, and she was only wearing a thin casual outfit. Meanwhile, Flynn opposite her was fully armed, with even his battle armor's energy amplification turned to the maximum.

After just a few rounds of fighting, the massive disadvantage in equipment was completely exposed.

"Bang!"

Flynn took Ivy's whip kick head-on and grabbed her arm with a backhand, pinning it firmly. Accompanied by a teeth-gritting sound of twisting bones, he slammed a knee strike hard into the back of Ivy's leg.

Ivy let out a muffled groan, instantly losing her balance. Flynn took the opportunity to pin her arms behind her back, like escorting a serious criminal, and pressed her hard against the metal support pillar at the edge of the tent.

The rough, cold metal pressed tightly against Ivy's cheek, distorting her features. This extremely humiliating position left her unable to move, her Fifth-Tier psionic energy tightly locked down by the suppression field on Flynn's battle armor.

"Let me go! You bastard!" Ivy struggled desperately, her eyes bloodshot as she roared toward the outside of the tent.

"I want to see the Guild Master! I want to see the Great Elder! Where on earth did you hide them!"

"I have been here all along."

A steady sound of footsteps came from outside the tent. The Great Elder, Cormac, walked in slowly, surrounded by several trusted guards.

He was still wearing that pristine robe, looking down at Ivy, who was pressed firmly against the wall, with a slight frown: "Ivy, I told you to go down and get some rest, yet you are here shouting and yelling. You are such a disappointment to me."

"Great Elder!" Ivy, like someone clutching at a final straw, ignored the intense pain in her cheek and loudly demanded, "Where are the wounded? What on earth happened to the guild?! Where is the Guild Master? And where is the Vice Guild Master?!"

"Noisy." Seeing that her voice was getting louder, Flynn reached out and roughly covered Ivy's mouth, blocking all her subsequent words.

"Mmph! Mmph-mmph!" Ivy twisted her neck desperately, her eyes filled with anger and despair.

Watching her in this state, Cormac sighed softly, a trace of pity flashing in his eyes: "Originally, considering the many meritorious services you have rendered to the guild in the past, I did not want to be this ruthless."

As he spoke, Cormac pulled a piece of parchment from his wide sleeves.

"This is a Subordinate Contract. Sign it, swear your loyalty to me, and then keep your mouth shut, and you will still be the sharpest blade of the Winged race."

Ivy, with her mouth covered, stared intently at the contract, her eyes erupting with extreme disbelief and resistance.

Like a crazed beast, she suddenly bit hard onto the finger of Flynn's metal-gloved hand, forcing a small gap open, and shrieked hysterically: "You want me to be your dog? I would rather die!"

She used all her strength to erupt with the remaining psionic energy in her body, attempting to shake off Flynn behind her.

"You don't know what's good for you."

Cormac glanced at her indifferently and tilted his chin slightly.

Receiving the instruction, Flynn's eyes turned ruthless. He released his hand from her mouth, clenched his fist covered in hard alloy, and delivered a series of vicious, heavy punches directly into Ivy's defenseless, soft abdomen!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The dull sound of flesh being struck echoed inside the tent. Without the protection of her armor, Ivy could not withstand the full-force blows from a powerhouse of the same tier.

"Ugh—"

Ivy's eyes bulged suddenly, and a large mouthful of bitter, sour liquid mixed with stomach acid sprayed out directly.

She convulsed in pain. As soon as Flynn let go, she collapsed to the ground powerlessly like a boiled shrimp, her hands clutching her agonizing stomach tightly, curled into a ball, with even her breath seemingly carrying the scent of blood.

Cormac walked up to her, looking down at Ivy, who was twitching in pain on the ground, and leisurely adjusted his cuffs.

"You are too naive, Ivy."

Cormac's voice remained refined, but his words made one feel as if they had fallen into an ice cellar.

"You ask me where the Guild Master is? The Guild Master was besieged by the main battleship of the Blood Moon Guild, severely injured and on the verge of death, and is only hanging on by a thread thanks to a life-support pod."

Ivy struggled to lift her head, looking with horror-filled eyes at this Great Elder who usually appeared so sanctimonious.

"As for the subordinates you brought back..."

Cormac sneered.

"This island is barren, and resources are completely exhausted. Do you know how much clean fresh water and food it takes every day to maintain the life of a severely wounded person?"

"They have no combat capability and can only lie in bed like parasites, taking up space and consuming the guild's already bottom-level resources. Therefore, I have found a way for them to continue contributing to the clan."

Cormac leaned down slightly, staring coldly at Ivy: "I traded them. Not just your subordinates, but all the severely wounded in the camp who lost their combat capability were all bundled and sold to other races in exchange for the supplies and defense blueprints that the guild desperately needs."

"You..."

A loud "buzz" rang in Ivy's mind, as if something had completely collapsed.

Selling her own kin, those wounded who had luckily survived by fighting desperately on the battlefield, like goods to people who eat people without spitting out the bones?!

"You... beast..."

Ivy, while retching up sour water, stared fixedly at Cormac, tears of despair dripping from the corners of her eyes, her voice hoarse like a malicious ghost.

"You are simply... even more disgusting than those Beastkin..."
