200: Chapter 200: The Pressure of an Immortal!
Clearly, this figure was the mastermind behind the countless events in Linyuan Village.
Their so-called Ancestor, whose authenticity was unknown.
An existence of the Immortal Level.
Of course, this figure was definitely not a true Immortal Level existence.
Otherwise, just by standing there, he would be enough to cause irreversible aberrations in all surrounding living beings, and even Su Lin wouldn't be able to hold out.
This was highly likely just a consciousness imprint left behind by the Ancestor.
Or rather, a wisp of a consciousness Clone attached to the chains, used to anchor world coordinates and guard the treasures here.
After all, the Sea Siren Clan's sacrifices were buried here, serving as an important bargaining chip in the Ancestor's game against those deep-sea monsters.
Without anyone guarding it, relying solely on those Magic Circles and monsters, it would have likely been breached by the Sea Siren Clan long ago.
As for those Raging Wave Warriors.
They had been bound by the Ancestor for a hundred years, resisting, struggling against, and undergoing Fusion with the chains day and night.
During their long imprisonment, they had even developed a twisted symbiotic relationship with these chains.
Like comrades-in-arms who had fought side-by-side for a hundred years, they shared a tacit understanding and a deep connection.
They Cursed the Ancestor day and night, wishing they could tear him into ten thousand pieces.
Yet, until their deaths, they never knew that these "comrades-in-arms" who had accompanied them for a century were actually their most hated enemy.
And so, they had spent these hundred years mindlessly guarding this undersea ruin for the Ancestor, acting as his enforcers and becoming the most pathetic pawns in this century-long chess game.
If they were to find out the truth, one could only wonder what kind of expressions they would make.
However, now was not the time to think about this.
Because although that figure was only a wisp of a consciousness Incarnation, it still radiated an extremely terrifying pressure.
Just by appearing there, it was enough to make the entire ocean tremble.
The seawater froze in mid-air, as if a pause button had been pressed.
Countless dark red spots of light emerged from all directions like dense, overwhelming ghost fires in the deep sea.
Standing in the center of these spots of light, Su Lin bore the brunt of that terrifying pressure.
Clenching his teeth, he continuously mobilized the power within the Gray Mist Space, barely managing to suppress the mental pollution and aberrant forces that were surging in frantically.
Is this the power of the Immortal Level?
To think that even a mere wisp of consciousness could possess such terrifying pressure.
If the Ancestor himself were here, Su Lin probably wouldn't even have the room to resist before being instantly crushed.
Meanwhile, the figure finished solidifying.
He seemed to notice Su Lin as well, but showed little emotional fluctuation.
It was as if he were looking at some insignificant existence.
He merely raised his hand slowly.
In the next second—
"Boom!!!"
Dark red energy erupted from his palm like a tsunami, instantly dyeing the entire ocean a bizarre blood-red.
The red energy surged and coalesced frantically in the seawater, transforming into countless twisted faces.
These faces belonged to men and women, young and old; some wailed in pain, some roared hideously, and others wept in despair.
They pressed and piled on top of each other, dense and overwhelming, completely surrounding Su Lin.
Tens of thousands of twisted faces influenced him in unison.
The terrifying mental pollution spread out like something physical, enough to cause any living being to instantly collapse and die.
Those faces were like countless invisible hands, tightly gripping Su Lin's Soul.
They wanted to drag him into that sea of blood, making him one of them.
Every second, a terrifying mental shock blasted against his consciousness.
Even with Calm Heart Soul Suppression stabilizing his mind, and even with the Grey Mist Power protecting his Soul,
subjected to such a horrific mental attack, even Su Lin was starting to find it hard to bear.
He felt his physical body and Soul beginning to twist and distort; dark red spots began to surface on his skin, as if something was about to hatch from inside his body.
He felt his consciousness being assimilated by that power, about to be dragged into the endless sea of blood to become one of those twisted faces.
He could only mobilize even more and stronger Grey Mist Power to suppress it.
And his other self within the Gray Mist Space seemed to sense the danger as well.
The massive figure seated high up in the Void Realm slowly opened its eyes.
A power more vast than ever before surged frantically out of the Void Realm.
It poured into Su Lin's body like a bursting dam.
"Boom!!!"
A greyish-white light suddenly exploded around Su Lin, dispersing all of the dark red pollution.
The twisted faces let out shrill wails, shattering and dissipating one after another under the crushing force of the Grey Mist Power.
The entire sea of blood surged violently, forced back several yards by that Grey Mist Power.
"Hmm?"
The figure seemed somewhat surprised.
Looking at the Grey Mist Power swirling around Su Lin, a ripple of emotion appeared on his blurry face for the first time.
He seemed rather curious about Su Lin's ability to dispel his power.
Su Lin also let out a sigh of relief, his back already drenched in cold sweat.
Fortunately, he had promoted to the Peak of the Calamity Level yesterday, allowing him to manifest Grey Mist Power several times more robust than before.
If he were still at his previous level, he might have truly been finished when facing mental pollution of this magnitude.
Of course, this was likely because the opponent was merely a wisp of the Ancestor's consciousness.
If the Ancestor himself were truly present, the mental pollution released...
...would probably be impossible to suppress with just the tiny amount of Grey Mist Power he could manifest.
Furthermore, he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination,
but he always felt that this Ancestor's level of power seemed to go beyond just the Immortal Level.
Although that power was just a wisp of consciousness, it carried an indescribable depth.
Yet, it shouldn't be of the Forbidden Rank either.
What on earth was going on?
What kind of thing was this Ancestor, exactly?
Right at that moment, the figure moved again.
His body suddenly emitted an even more dazzling dark red light, dyeing the entire ocean blood-red once more.
The figure remained highly blurred, making it impossible to see his exact appearance.
But Su Lin could clearly feel that the way the other party looked at him was like looking at an ant.
That indifferent, cold, and high-and-mighty gaze was as if he were examining an interesting toy,
rather than looking at a living being.
Of course, to an existence of the Immortal Level, crushing him to death was indeed probably no different from crushing an ant.
The figure spoke slowly, his voice ethereal and deep, like an echo drifting out of the Nine Nether Hell:
“Then let me see what secrets you are hiding.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he flew straight toward Su Lin.
Su Lin's pupils contracted sharply, and before he could react—
Then,
in the next second,
that mysterious and familiar feeling emerged once again.
Su Lin felt himself floating up, passing through the seawater and the battlefield, soaring over mountains and rivers, and crossing the land.
The entire world shrank beneath his feet into an unfurled scroll.
Everything was under his bird's-eye view.
Mortals were like dust, and the strong were like specks of light.
Even the pressure of the Immortal Level became insignificant.
The grey mist surged, boundless and infinite.
He sat high up in the Void Realm, just like a true deity.
