68: Chapter 68 The Gray Fog Council's Plans

Several days passed after that, and nothing else happened.

Lin Weixia successfully entered the city and settled down in a cheap house in the southern part of the city.

Five Servants had been secretly protecting her, and only after confirming she was safe did they withdraw three, leaving two behind to continue guarding her.

Su Lin hadn't made any major moves over these past few days, and he had kept a much lower profile.

For one, nothing had actually happened, and there was no information about any treasures.

Secondly, he had very likely provoked a true Forbidden Rank, or perhaps even a god-level entity.

Although, in all likelihood, he had only caused a negligible impact on its plans.

But regardless, that was still a true Forbidden Rank, or even a god.

To be safe, Su Lin still chose to lay low and observe for a while.

Fortunately, nothing happened during this time either.

He did not sense any surveillance, did not encounter any tracking, and there were no anomalies.

The entity within the Land of the End seemed to have truly not noticed him.

Perhaps those "consumables" were simply unimportant, and it didn't matter if one or two died.

Perhaps the shielding effect of the Void Armor was enough to deceive even an entity of that level.

Or perhaps the other party had long since fallen asleep, or was sealed away, and had no idea what was happening outside.

Su Lin did not know the specific reason, but he felt much more relaxed.

As long as he wasn't being targeted, everything else was manageable.

Of course, he hadn't wasted this time either.

Over these past few days, he had been focused on studying the supernatural books he had picked up at the gathering.

The experiences during this period made him deeply realize that his understanding of this world was still too little.

He was like a child who had just learned to walk, completely ignorant of the truth of this world.

Consequently, he began to devour those books, forgetting to eat or sleep.

He would flip through several books a day, and whenever he encountered something he didn't understand, he would read it repeatedly until he figured it out.

He had never been this diligent in his studies in his previous life.

But unfortunately, he still hadn't learned any information about the "Land of the End."

He didn't know if these books were too basic and didn't record it, or if that place was too secretive and inaccessible to ordinary people.

There was no help for it; he would just have to find out through other means later.

At the very least, he had now filled in most of the basic knowledge about the supernatural world and would no longer be completely in the dark like before.

Besides reading, his biggest gain these past few days was the planning and construction of the "Gray Mist Council."

Through his research, he discovered that Lin Weixia seemed to have established some kind of peculiar connection with him.

That connection was very subtle, like a resonance on a soul level.

He only needed to use his consciousness to tap on her crimson light point within the Gray Mist Space to pull her consciousness into the Gray Mist Space.

And Lin Weixia could also contact him by calling out to the "Gray Mist Council."

However, her call was equivalent to "sending a request," which required his consent to actually establish a connection.

This mechanism was quite good, as it saved him from being disturbed.

Besides this, Su Lin also discovered that the entire Gray Mist Space seemed to be able to change according to his consciousness.

He really was a god within the Gray Mist Space.

Thus, he began to modify it.

In the center was a huge long table, with thirteen stone high-backed chairs arranged around it.

He also added many stone pillars, sculptures, and similar things around the space.

Honestly, this thing looked quite authentic and had a real sense of a "council."

Su Lin was very satisfied with this.

And after doing all this, he did another important thing.

He used more and denser gray mist to cover the "self" that structured it.

That terrifying figure deep within the gray mist.

Although it was the source of his power, it was also an existence that absolutely could not be looked at directly.

When Lin Weixia saw it for the first time, even just seeing a vague outline had nearly scared her into a mental breakdown.

He didn't want his members to be scared to death just like that.

Therefore, he used the gray mist to wrap that figure layer by layer, not even leaving a single outline.

This way, when council members entered the Gray Mist Space, they would only be able to feel that suffocating majesty without seeing anything specific.

After finishing all this, Su Lin tried pulling Lin Weixia's consciousness in again.

The little girl's consciousness appeared in the Gray Mist Space, sitting on one of the stone chairs, completely stunned.

She looked around, watching the space where the gray mist surged, looking at that huge stone table, and looking at the empty chairs around her; her eyes were filled with shock.

"Big shot, is, is this the Gray Mist Council?"

Su Lin's voice came from all directions, deep and majestic: "That is correct."

A flash of excitement crossed Lin Weixia's eyes, and she hurriedly stood up from the chair, bowing respectfully: "I will certainly not let down the expectations of the Council!"

Su Lin was very satisfied, and then sent her consciousness back out.

After all the fuss over these past few days, his "Gray Mist Council" was looking more and more like the real thing.

Although there was currently only one probationary member, he believed that more people would join in the future.

As for Lin Weixia herself, Su Lin had also observed her quite a bit over these past few days.

The little girl had strong adaptability; she settled down quickly and even began trying to control her own God-Communicator abilities.

Although the results weren't very good, there was at least progress.

Su Lin flipped through the supernatural books in his hands and discovered some interesting things.

God-Communicators seemed very well-suited for things like divination and curses.

As it happened, among the supernatural books he had collected, there were a few introductory books on divination and curses.

Su Lin had originally intended to learn them himself; after all, having an extra skill wasn't a bad thing.

But when he opened those books, he was left speechless.

Things like rune arrangements, energy flow patterns, causal law calculations...

The content was as complex as the calculus and programming classes from his previous life, and it made his head spin just looking at it.

Consequently, he decisively shelved this plan.

He had originally thought about dealing with it later, but he hadn't expected a God-Communicator to come along now.

Wouldn't he have to dump all these things onto her?

After all, he was the leader of the Council; how could he personally go and learn these tedious things?

Naturally, he had to let his subordinates learn them.

If his organization could gain a diviner or a curse-caster or something similar because of this, it would be excellent for him as well.

Of course, that was a matter for later.

It all depended on whether Lin Weixia had the talent and whether she could learn them.

He hoped she would not let down his trust.

And after confirming that the unknown entity from the Land of the End had not noticed him, Su Lin also decided that perhaps he could start taking action again during this time.

He closed the book, stood up, and stretched his somewhat stiff neck.

He was just about to look for something to eat.

Just then, a dark green speck of light drifted in from outside the window, coalescing in front of him and transforming into a gray-brown humanoid Minion.

The Minion knelt on one knee and transmitted a brief message—

"There is a situation in the South City District..."
