99: Chapter 99: Fifth Ring Mage! Sylvia! Void Rift!

Today, Sylvia wore a well-tailored light purple mage's robe, its sleeves and hem embroidered with silver thread depicting the profound Latour Family crest and spatial runes.

Her waterfall-like long hair was tied up with a simple amethyst hairpin, revealing a swan-like elegant and slender neck and an impeccable side profile.

Hearing her junior's call, she turned her face slightly.

"I understand, Annabelle," Sylvia's voice was soft.

She set down the magical item she was currently analyzing, gave a slight nod to her personal maid Winona who stood waiting nearby, and headed toward the core area of the tower.

Inside the central control room, the atmosphere was solemn.

Several high-level mages with powerful auras were gathered around a massive three-dimensional formation sand table, casting spells.

In the primary seat sat a female Archmage dressed in an elegant black mage's gown.

She was Sylvia's mentor, Lady Delia, and also one of the three Archmages currently within the Lunhe Tower.

"Mentor." Sylvia entered the control room and bowed slightly to Lady Delia.

"Sylvia, you've come at the right time." Lady Delia glanced at her most prized disciple, a flicker of hard-to-detect admiration flashing in her eyes, though her tone was urgent as she said:

"The Silent Blade Legion came prepared this time, deploying at least three war mages and an unknown large-scale siege artifact. They are fiercely attacking the western wall, and the defensive formations there are already teetering."

"We need to perform spatial interference immediately to disrupt their offensive rhythm and buy time for the defenders to repair the formations!"

"Understood." Sylvia wasted no words, walking skillfully to a high platform inscribed with complex spatial coordinates and energy-conducting runes.

The maid Winona followed like a shadow, quickly adjusting several auxiliary crystals on the platform for her.

Sylvia closed her eyes, and her majestic mental strength poured out like mercury, instantly connecting with the tower's vast mana pool and the external spatial network.

She extended her hands, her fingers dancing as she sketched spatial runes shimmering with silver light in the air.

The runes continuously combined and shifted, inducing subtle ripples in the surrounding space.

In the next moment, her eyes snapped open, and she pressed her hands forward into the void.

"In the name of Space, Sever!"

Fifth-Circle Spatial Magic: Void Rupture!

Outside the tower, in the air about a hundred meters in front of the third section of the western wall, space was suddenly torn apart as if by an invisible giant hand!

An eerie rift with edges flickering with unstable silver light appeared out of thin air!

A squad of Dark Elf Shadowraiders launching a charge were either directly sliced by the distorted spatial power the moment they touched the [Void Rupture], or they vanished into the rift, thrown to some unknown corner of space!

This precise and powerful spatial interference instantly disrupted the Silent Blade Legion's fierce assault, winning a precious breathing room for the defenders on the wall.

Imperial mages and defensive siege engines took the opportunity to fire with all their might, harvesting the enemy troops exposed outside the rift in swaths.

And it wasn't over yet.

Sylvia's expression remained calm as her hand signs changed; the [Void Rupture] did not disappear.

Instead, under her control, it began to drift slowly along the weak points of the wall like a sentient silver ribbon.

From time to time, it would split into several small spatial vortices, sucking in approaching flying units or projectiles and weakening long-range attacks...

Her control was exquisite and meticulous; her understanding and application of spatial power had reached a state of perfection.

The control room fell into a dead silence.

All the mages, including her mentor Lady Delia, looked at the silver ribbon representing the [Void Rupture] on the 3D formation sand table with eyes full of wonder.

"Such exquisite continuous control... the requirements for mental strength and spatial perception are terrifyingly high..."

An elderly mage murmured.

"Has she really only just promoted to the Fifth Circle?"

"The stability and variability of this Void Rupture are things many Sixth-Circle mages might not be able to achieve!"

"As expected of the Pearl of the Latour Family, an outstanding graduate of Saint Helen..."

The battle continued for about another hour.

The Silent Blade Legion's surprise attack was finally repelled.

The Night Federation's army retreated back into the darkness like a ebbing tide.

Although the walls of Golan Fortress were damaged in several places and the magical defensive glow was dim, it was held after all.

However, the price of victory was equally heavy.

The bodies of soldiers from both sides were strewn across the walls, and blood stained the masonry red.

The casualty count for the defenders would certainly not be small.

At this time, Lady Delia walked to Sylvia's side. Looking at her disciple's profile, which was only slightly pale, her eyes were filled with undisguised amazement:

"Sylvia, you did very well. That [Void Rupture] just now was controlled very exquisitely; your understanding of space has improved once again."

Sylvia shook her head slightly, her voice soft:

"Mentor overpraises me. I only did what I could."

At this point, several young mages and officers from other departments of the tower couldn't help but gather around, looks of admiration on their faces as they tried to strike up a conversation.

This young and beautiful spatial mage from a prestigious family had not been at the Lenhe Magic Tower long before she was dubbed the 'Flower of the Tower' by those fond of such things.

"Lady Latour, that spatial magic just now was truly eye-opening!"

"I wonder if I might have the honor of asking you for some advice regarding spatial stability..."

"Miss Sylvia, if you have time after the battle, I wonder if you would do me the honor..."

Sylvia's expression remained indifferent. She politely declined everyone's praise and advances with the briefest of words.

She gave a slight nod to her mentor Delia and said, "Mentor, I need to rest for a while to recover my mental strength."

"Go then, get some good rest."

Sylvia said no more. Taking the waiting maid Winona with her, she turned and left the control room, heading toward her exclusive room on the upper levels of the tower.

Returning to the room that overlooked the desolate Twilight Creek Plains, Sylvia dismissed Winona and walked to the window alone.

Outside, Golan Fortress was brightly lit, with emergency repairs being made to the city defenses and the wounded being treated.

In the darkness of the distant plains, there were still faint, scattered fluctuations of battle qi—scouts from both sides were still entangled.

Her beautiful eyes gazed into the endless darkness, toward the north.

Her exquisite face remained expressionless, but deep in her eyes, a very faint trace of longing seemed to flicker...
