12: The sacred profession of doctor has been tarnished by these dogs
Hospital.
Murong Mingyue, looking a bit pale, sat in the corridor.
Next to her were her toiletries and a change of clothes.
"I'm really sorry, I was too useless."
The Hospital doctor, Zhang Qiang, passed by Murong Mingyue, his face full of apology.
Hospital beds were extremely tight recently, and a family member of a Menglong Guild executive happened to need hospitalization.
The Hospital held an emergency meeting, and the dean even issued an order: no matter what method was used, a bed must be cleared for this VIP. If this matter was not handled well, everyone's performance bonus for the month would be canceled.
Performance bonuses accounted for more than half of the doctors' and nurses' salaries, so canceling them for the month would essentially mean no salary.
Hearing the dean say this, everyone immediately erupted.
"Murong Mingyue's hospitalization fees are about to run out, why not let her leave early?"
Nurse Wang Fangfang suggested.
"Right, right, that person's illness is very difficult to treat and costs 5 million. Her family has no money and can't afford the treatment at all."
"I know that person too. Her family has no influence, just one son who is only level 7. Even if we make her move out, it's fine."
As soon as Wang Fangfang said this, many people in the conference room immediately expressed agreement.
Only Murong Mingyue's attending physician, Zhang Qiang, expressed opposition:
"I disagree. The patient's hospitalization fee is still valid for two more days. We must follow the rules. As long as the patient hasn't voluntarily said she wants to leave, we cannot give up."
Wang Fangfang rolled her eyes: "Rules? Rules my ass! What time is it now, and you're still talking about rules? If we offend the Menglong Guild, do you still expect our Hospital to have a good life?"
Finally, the dean made the decision: "It's settled then. Let Murong Mingyue move out, refund all her remaining hospitalization fees, and we won't charge her for today's hospitalization either. Fangfang, you handle this."
The dean knew Zhang Qiang's personality; although his medical skills were superb, he was not smooth enough in dealing with people. He bypassed Zhang Qiang directly and had Wang Fangfang handle it.
As head nurse, Wang Fangfang had done this kind of thing too many times. She directly brought a few nurses, went to Murong Mingyue's ward, and coaxed and tricked Murong Mingyue out.
Zhang Qiang reasoned with the dean several times, but with little effect. The dean just said he would find a way to resolve it and that if another bed became available, Murong Mingyue would be arranged for hospitalization immediately.
Zhang Qiang knew these were just the dean's perfunctory excuses. In the end, having no other choice, he told Qin Tian about the situation, stating that he would do his best to help Qin Tian contact another Hospital so that Qin Tian's mother could go to another Hospital and continue treatment.
Although he had advised Qin Tian to give up before, that was only a suggestion. The final choice still needed to be made by Qin Tian, not like now, being forcibly expelled from the Hospital.
"Shameless, shameless, utterly shameless! Such a sacred profession as a doctor has been defiled by these dogs!"
Zhang Qiang shouted angrily in the Hospital corridor.
Even now, in the room next to him, were the dean and the head nurse, as well as many high-ranking Hospital officials.
Zhang Qiang's words were meant for these people.
Now these people were inside, each with a smile on their face, discussing the patient's condition with the middle-aged man on the bed, both warmly and respectfully.
This middle-aged man merely had a common minor illness, not even requiring hospitalization, yet he relied on his status as a Menglong Guild executive's relative to receive free hospitalization and occupy the bed that originally belonged to Murong Mingyue.
"Dean, what's going on? Why is it so noisy? Are there no more beds in the VIP ward? I'm really not used to staying in this ordinary ward."
The middle-aged man lying on the Hospital bed frowned.
"Oh, I'm really sorry. Please bear with us for a few days. We are already doing our best to make arrangements."
The dean explained with a beaming smile, simultaneously giving head nurse Wang Fangfang a look.
Wang Fangfang understood the dean's meaning and immediately walked out of the ward, into the Hospital corridor, and approached Zhang Qiang. She looked at him with a frown:
"Zhang Qiang, are you crazy? The dean is still inside! This is a Hospital. If you shout like this, you'll disturb the patients and affect their rest. What then?"
"You still remember this is a Hospital? Did the dogs eat the oaths you took when you first joined? And affecting patients' rest? You forcibly tricked my patient out of her own bed, and this is what you call affecting patients' rest!"
The more Zhang Qiang spoke, the angrier he became. He directly tore off his work badge and threw it at Wang Fangfang's face.
Wang Fangfang couldn't dodge in time, and her face was directly hit by the badge. She instantly became furious: "Zhang Qiang, I'll have the dean fire you."
"Go ahead, I've long wanted to leave this Hospital anyway."
Zhang Qiang said, about to leave, when he happened to see Qin Tian.
Qin Tian was squatting beside his mother, comforting her. Seeing Zhang Qiang approach, he also stood up.
"I'm sorry, I failed to fulfill my responsibility as an attending physician. I've already helped you contact another Hospital, and I have some personal savings that I can lend you. You're right, as long as there's a glimmer of hope, we shouldn't give up. I shouldn't have advised you before..."
Zhang Qiang looked at Qin Tian, feeling increasingly guilty as he spoke.
He originally became a doctor to treat illnesses and save lives, but he didn't expect his ideals to be defeated by reality. This Hospital disappointed him too much, and he was preparing to resign.
Qin Tian waved his hand, signaling him not to say more. Zhang Qiang had already explained the previous situation to Qin Tian via text message.
It was precisely because he received Zhang Qiang's text message that Qin Tian did not continue to stay in the Transfer Quest Center but rushed directly to the Hospital.
Qin Tian walked up to head nurse Wang Fangfang. He had heard and understood her conversation with Zhang Qiang just now. It was this woman who led people to kick Murong Mingyue out of the ward.
Leaving the gravely ill Murong Mingyue to sit helplessly in the corridor.
"You must be the patient's family member. The patient has already been discharged. I know her illness; it's incurable, and you can't afford the treatment fees. Hurry up and leave, don't stay here and disturb other patients."
Wang Fangfang crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at Qin Tian. As head nurse, she was already level 10.
The data showed that the patient's family member was only level 7 and had no background, so she wasn't afraid at all.
Qin Tian didn't speak. He directly took out his Novice Longsword. Amidst Wang Fangfang's shocked expression, the longsword in Qin Tian's hand had already fallen.
Wang Fangfang's body was cut in two. She was instantly killed by Qin Tian with one strike.
"What's going on? What's wrong with this kid? Why is his name black and red?"
Zhang Qiang hadn't expected Qin Tian to suddenly attack and kill Wang Fangfang with one strike. This completely exceeded his understanding.
This was the safe zone of the main city! How could he kill someone here?
And what was wrong with his damage? Why was it so high?
Qin Tian's single strike killing Wang Fangfang instantly caused other patients in the Hospital corridor to scream in fear.
"Is your Hospital this chaotic?"
The Menglong Guild executive's family member, lying on the bed in the ward, frowned even deeper.
"I'll go take a look."
The Hospital dean hurriedly walked out.
