Chapter 21: I want to consummate with Arinya

I doubt Damar will let me go like he did the previous day. But maybe if I can get him to trust me, he’ll let me go again."D-Damar," I called, stuttering a bit, and he suddenly began to breathe in my ear.

"You remembered my name."

Of course, I remember. If you remember mine after I told you just last night, what’s going to stop me from remembering yours?

But... this snake man... Was he always like this?

No, he was acting so differently compared to the aloofness he showed the previous night.

He looked excited, grinning from ear to ear as he looked at me favourably with that handsome face of his.

Why? Did he suddenly fall for me?

"Yes, Damar. But can you let me go first? You’re squeezing me so tight." I said but he frowned, seeming reluctant. "If you don’t want to, then could you at least release my legs? It’s a bit... uncomfortable."

His tail was wrapped around my legs and I could finally move them. Phew, that was one down.

I glanced at him from over my shoulder.

He was staring at me with sparkling eyes.

I feel like I shouldn’t ask but I can’t help but wonder what was going on through his mind.

"W-what is it?" I asked, and hoped I wouldn’t regret hearing his answer. He’s not thinking about mating, is he?

"Arinya looks a little different today." He said and I blinked.

Oh, I just had a little, what they call, skin makeover by taking a damn bath!

"R-really?" I feigned ignorance. "I didn’t know. What part of me looks different?"

"Your face." He said and my heart skipped for no reason. "You’re very pretty."

Damar just called me pretty

Just yesterday, he was looking at me with scorn because I peed on him, and only changed his attitude after he sniffed me.

But now... He was actually complimenting me?

I knew it. The mud was to blame.

But... That doesn’t mean it’s entirely the mud. I doubt Arinya has had mud on her face for her entire life.

"Thank you, Damar," I said. "You’re also very handsome."

I think his tail began to flap on the water because splashes appeared out of nowhere, following his excitement.

"What are you doing?"

"I’m celebrating."

Are you a kid who splashes water when happy? And what are you even celebrating about?

"Damar, what are you going to do now?" I asked.

"I want to consummate with Arinya." He said and my eyes fell blank.

Ah, is consummating all you ever think of? What? Are you in heat?

"That... That’s too early." I said. "You want me to like you, right?"

He nodded.

"Then, should we take it slow?"

"But why? You’re mine."

I still need to go back to the tribe, and I need to be early since there’s apparently a feast to celebrate the snow tigers that came to visit our tribe.

I’m sure both of the snow tiger princes will choose a spouse from our tribe, while one of my two foolish brothers will try to win the snow tiger princess.

I think even the chief of the snow tigers wants to find a new spouse since his spouse is deceased.

But then why did they not stick their nose in their tribe alone and come to ours?

They probably don’t know the word called alliance yet but the concept must be there.

They need to marry into each other’s tribe to create strong bonds between the tribes.

I don’t consider myself one of those ’lucky’ females that will get a snow tiger as a mate but... Fenric was fine as hell. I can still feel myself drooling over that fit body.

Damar doesn’t pale much in comparison given he was handsome and had a toned body, but he was leaner compared to Fenric’s build.

Well, I can’t expect a snake to be bigger than a snow tiger.

I noticed Damar was suddenly annoyed, frowning as he looked at me.

"Are you thinking of another beastman right now?" He asked and I pursed my lips, completely guilty.

How did he know?

I gulped, rolling my eyes away in guilt.

Where did my sense of danger disappear to that I was thinking of Fenric while wrapped in Damar’s arms?

I could lie, but I don’t think he’s such a fool that he’d believe it.

"You are, aren’t you?" His harsh voice made me flinch.

He suddenly wrapped his tail around me and started leaving the water.

"W-wait, hold on. I can explain."

I can explain that I have my eyes on handsome beastmen with hot bodies.

What the hell was I going to say?

He laid me on the damp grass and I instinctively covered my breasts.

They were on display.

This body was even hotter than my human body but to think it could be so easily exposed.

He’s going to take my sister as his mate." Probably. "So you don’t have to worry that he will make me his spouse."

"Nonsense," he immediately dismissed my words. "I have never met a female like you who smells so good."

And how many females have you met in total aside from me?

"One whiff of you and he will definitely lose his mind. Any sane male will definitely go insane." He said so confidently but his words made me feel even more unsure.

Why does that sound so unlike me?

If that were the case, then Arinya wouldn’t have had to struggle with so many rejections all this time.

Fenric did glance at me once but that was only when my father was giving the introductions. Nothing more.

His gaze swept towards Veyra next and he never turned to look at me again.

And the beast males were starting to pay attention because I was acting weak and relying on them, boosting their ego. It wasn’t because I was attractive or anything.

I was suddenly feeling bitter. And I began to wonder if Damar was making fun of me.

"I’m telling the truth," I said. "No one likes me. Why do you think I’ve not had a mate this entire time? It’s because I’m not as desirable as you make me out to seem, Damar."
