Vultures attack, annihilation vortex
On the platform, desperate cries and shrill alarms mingled together.
Deep in the Void Realm, the scavenger starship known as the "Vulture" pressed forward with a ferocious Aura.
Its entire body was pieced together from various rusted metals and the skeletons of unknown creatures.
A blood-dripping Vulture emblem was painted on its bow, and its sides were densely packed with cannon muzzles flashing with ominous light, like a starving steel Vicious Beast that had crawled out of a scrap heap.
Before the starship had fully approached, a foul stench mixed with blood, violence, and the smell of some inferior energy fuel had already swept in with its energy field, making the survivors on the platform nearly gag and tremble.
“Lord Carlos! The ‘rats’ here seem to have found a new backer! The Formation is a bit sturdier than last time!”
Inside the starship’s command room, a one-eyed brute stared at the scanning screen, licked his cracked lips, and roared into the communicator.
A voice as hoarse as metal rubbing against metal came through the communicator: “A backer? Hmph, in this Exiled Domain, besides those few old geezers, who dares to meddle in my, ‘Vulture’ Carlos’s, business? Blast open that tortoise shell; slaughter all the men, and take the women and whelps! If that newcomer is sensible, recruit them; if not… deal with them together!”
“Understood!” The one-eyed brute sneered, slammed the red button on the control lever, “Use the ‘Bone-Eroding Acid Cannon’ for me! Give them a bath first!”
On the sides of the starship, several thick cannon barrels suddenly lit up with a ghastly green glow.
The next moment, several viscous torrents of green energy, exuding a strongly corrosive stench, tore through the Void Realm like poisonous Dragons and slammed fiercely into the platform’s protective Formation!
Sizzle—!
The green acid made contact with the Formation’s light shield, producing a teeth-gritting corrosive sound.
The light shield vibrated violently, and the light, which had just brightened slightly after being replenished with a trace of energy by Nightmare, dimmed again at a speed visible to the naked eye!
Some acid even penetrated the weak spots, splashing onto the platform surface and immediately corroding deep pits into the rock!
“Hold on! Quickly inject energy into the core!” the old priest Norton shouted hoarsely.
Several survivors who were still relatively calm scrambled to inject their meager magic power into the Formation base, but it was undoubtedly a drop in the bucket.
The light shield was teetering on the verge of collapse, and the bloodthirsty laughter and cursing of the scavengers could already be heard from the starship.
Su Wanqing gripped the jade hairpin Magic Treasure in her hand, the Nine-Orifice Exquisite halo circulating around her body, ready to strike at any moment.
She trusted her Senior Brother, but the scene before her still made her heart tremble.
As for Nightmare, he had stood at the edge of the platform from the very beginning, his hands behind his back, his black robe flapping in the violent wind brought by the starship’s energy field.
He watched the ugly starship and the disgusting acid attack with calm eyes, as if he were enjoying a clumsy performance.
“Is this all the ability you have?” Nightmare muttered, a hint of disappointment in his tone.
He hadn’t even used much computing power for the rule fragment.
In his eyes, this level of attack was no different from a child splashing water.
Seeing that the second wave of acid cannons had already begun charging, and the starship’s hatch was slowly opening, one could vaguely see the figures of scavengers inside, rubbing their hands and preparing to land and loot.
Nightmare finally moved.
He simply raised his hand, spread his five fingers towards the starship that was currently showing off its might, and then slowly closed them into a phantom grip.
There was no earth-shattering eruption of Aura, no dazzling Spell light.
But the moment his palm closed in a phantom grip, that massive scavenger starship, which was frantically pouring out firepower, suddenly froze!
It was as if an invisible giant hand had crossed space and directly gripped its energy core and propulsion System!
The energy patterns flickering on the starship’s surface instantly became chaotic; the ghastly green light of the acid cannons was suddenly extinguished as if the power had been cut off, and the tail flames ejected by the thrusters turned into intermittent flickers.
The entire starship was like it had been pressed with a pause button, frozen in place, with only inertia pushing it slowly forward.
Inside the starship’s command room, shrill alarms blared, and the data on all the instrument panels jumped wildly!
“What’s going on?! Energy out of control!”
“Engine unresponsive!”
“Who is it?! Which bastard is playing tricks?!” The one-eyed brute was both shocked and furious, frantically pounding on the console.
The survivors on the platform were also stunned, staring blankly at the starship that had been so ferocious just a moment ago, now frozen in the Void Realm like a puppet with cut strings.
Nightmare did not give them much time to react.
His phantom-gripping palm slowly rotated.
As his palm rotated, the Void Realm around the frozen starship began to distort and collapse silently!
A miniature black vortex, composed entirely of the Power of Annihilation, suddenly formed with the starship as its core!
Annihilation Star Vortex!
This time, the Star Vortex was more condensed and terrifying than when it was used in the Star Fragment Belt!
At the edges of the vortex, space was torn into fine black cracks, emitting a deathly Aura that devoured everything.
“No! No! Let us go!”
“It’s that Black-Robed Person! He’s the one who did it!”
“Quick, launch the escape pod! Ah—!”
Inside the starship, the panicked and desperate screams and curses of the scavengers could be heard.
They tried to start the backup energy, tried to launch the escape pods, but everything was futile under the terrifying force field of the Annihilation Star Vortex, which twisted Laws and devoured energy!
The starship’s sturdy hull, pieced together from various scrap metals, began to deform and shatter like paper under the rotation and tearing of the Star Vortex!
Large armor plates were forcibly stripped away and pulled into the center of the vortex, disappearing.
The exposed internal structures, along with the screaming scavengers inside, rapidly turned gray, withered, and finally turned into fly ash under the erosion of the Power of Annihilation!
The entire process had no explosions, no firelight, only a chilling, silent destruction, as if all things were heading towards their end!
In just a few breaths, that massive, intimidating scavenger starship, along with all its crew, was completely swallowed and annihilated by the constantly rotating and shrinking Annihilation Star Vortex right under the eyes of everyone on the platform, leaving not even a scrap behind.
When the last fragment disappeared into the center of the vortex, the black Annihilation Star Vortex also slowly dissipated, as if it had never appeared.
In the Void Realm, “peace” was restored once again, with only some subtle spatial ripples slowly undulating.
On the platform, there was dead silence.
All the survivors, including the old priest Norton, had their mouths wide open, their eyes widened like copper bells, looking in disbelief at the empty Void Realm, and then at the Black-Robed Person at the edge of the platform who was slowly lowering his palm, as if he had just brushed away a speck of dust.
This was… the end?
That “Vulture” starship that had terrified them for countless years, which they regarded as a symbol of doomsday, that notorious scavenger leader Carlos… just like that… was gone?
Su Wanqing breathed a slight sigh of relief, her gaze towards Nightmare filled with a proud smile.
She knew it; whenever her Senior Brother acted, it was always so clean and decisive.
Nightmare turned around and looked at Norton and the others, who were still in a petrified state, and frowned: “It’s all resolved, what are you still standing there for? Go repair the houses, and go replenish the energy if you need to.”
His voice broke the dead silence.
Norton snapped back to reality, then fell to his knees with a “thud”, trembling with excitement, incoherent: “Th-thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord, for saving our lives! Lord, your Divine Might! Lord...”
The survivors behind him also snapped out of their daze, knelt down one after another, kowtowing like they were pounding garlic, and the sounds of tearful gratitude were endless.
Nightmare waved his hand, too lazy to pay attention to this.
He scanned the perimeter of the platform with his rule fragment, confirmed there were no other threats, and his thoughts returned to the Star Core fragment and the primal cube.
Having resolved the noisy flies, it was time to continue with the real business.
However, just as he was preparing to return to the secret chamber, his rule fragment suddenly captured that at the final location where the starship had been annihilated, there seemed to be a trace of an extremely weak, yet exceptionally resilient special fluctuation, different from the scavengers’ energy, that had remained behind?
Hmm?
