Chapter 201: Rion’s Purposeful Dream

Rion sighed in unwillingness at delivering the speech; however, even if he found it burdening, he knew how much of an importance words hold...Words alone could fuel wars as well as end them, so his words could be the spark the tribe needed to move in the way he needed them to be.

Dhaevrak was strong, yet they were trapped in the red and black mountains for thousands of years, which meant that strength alone wasn’t enough for them to be free...

What they needed was to reach a level where the strength of others was simply meaningless, and fortunately, the red and black mountains, which were now filled with ether and various rare minerals, were like a legendary treasure that could help them reach that level — the only things they lacked were methods and time.

But knowledge could fix the lack of methods and make the development faster.

Clenching his right fist, he stood up from his chair and walked to the edge of the stage.

The tribe members, who were dancing around the stage, waved and called out to him, and he looked at them with a sweet smile stretching across his face.

He slowly raised his right arm and said, "My dear family..."

Even though his voice wasn’t enhanced with the aura, his words still reached everyone’s ears.

The dance, the chatter and the drums stopped instantly.

Everyone looked at him with bright eyes, and he continued warmly, "For many years we have been praying for this day — the day of our freedom, the day from which we have the right of choice... but..."

His eyes shifted towards the young warriors who were sitting under the beam shelters, and he added in a slightly heavier tone, "The shackles that were around our necks were also our purpose... a duty to fulfil, however, we no longer hold a duty or purpose..."

The crowd’s expressions hardened slightly, but his words didn’t halt.

"Many may say that having no purpose is better than a forced duty, but I do not think the same..."

He paced around the edge of the stage and continued, "The forced duty to defend the green from the purple allowed us to become the warriors that we are... it allowed us to go beyond our limits and reach a realm that," he lifted a finger towards Marin, "some people might even call superhuman."

Marin flashed him his usual kind smile and gave a nod before leaning back in his chair.

Rion smiled back and continued in a deeper voice, "But does that mean our freedom has no merit? Or that it was meaningless?"

He swung his arm as if he were cutting through the air. "NO, IT DOES NOT!"

He growled, "So what if we no longer have a forced purpose?!"

"We will find a purpose of our own!"

The veins of his face bulged in fury, and he roared, "We are the descendants of the gods! The hegemony of this world is our birthright, and we will take it from those who have committed the great sin of trapping us in here!"

"HEGEMONY!" Shouted a tribe member, and the others followed.

The ground trembled at their unified chants, and with one raise of Rion’s right hand, everyone once again fell silent.

"We need not be forced to achieve greatness. What we require is unity, vision and absolute trust in OURSELVES."

He took out his dagger, slit a streak across his palm and clenched it to force out the blood. As he did so, his Immortal Body activated and tried to heal him, but using the Absolute Will, he forced it to a halt.

A few drops of his blood fell onto the ground, and the warrior’s eyes widened in shock.

Rion was a master warrior, one so proficient in the art of battle that he rarely bled even in his handicapped spars against the group leaders but seeing him bleed for this was like a declaration that screamed that he was just like them, that he wasn’t someone who couldn’t bleed but he simply chose not to as no being had the right to make a god bleed.

His eyes flared like never before, and he announced, "From this day forth, we will not live just for the sake of living."

The warriors’ breathing became ragged at the devotion and determination in his voice, and he continued.

"We will strengthen ourselves!"

His eyes moved towards Zaelyane. "We will develop ourselves to such a degree that no one would dare call us barbarians!"

A tidal wave of his golden aura spread outwards; the tribe members’ expressions darkened upon seeing the wave make its way towards them, but instead of harming them, it went past them.

The tribe members looked at it in confusion, and a few moments later, cries and roars erupted from the nearby mountains.

Hearing them, everyone understood that the aura wave had struck the ether beasts that were closing onto the feast site.

"With the Sovereign’s delighted agreement, I, the high commander, decree the beginning of a new era... I decree the reformation of Pantheon, the kingdom of godbloods."

The tribe members stared at him in utter disbelief, each one of them had never thought of what they would do once the purple was gone... Some were curious about the world beyond the mountains but most weren’t.

For most tribe members, what mattered most was the life of tribe members and the tribe itself, but Rion’s dream wasn’t something that went against them... instead, it solidified what they always wanted.

He wasn’t just freeing them; he was giving them the key to stay free forever.

Yuura instantly fell onto his knee, his head touched the ground, and he shouted at the top of his lungs, "GLORY TO THE GODS! GLORY TO THE HIGH COMMANDER!"

Tarun, Karhun and Zukah were the next and following them, more and more tribe members bowed down to him.

However, Rion didn’t reply to any of them.

They lifted their heads, and all of them were left baffled because Rion was no longer there and Haden’s words spread throughout the silent site, "Dora is awake..."
