Kyle was shocked staring at the system notification which suddenly popped up alerting him he’d created a new skill? This was certainly weird as this was the first such had ever happened.

[Astral demon projection]

I-i created a skill. It was mostly the system that created new skill for him during certain special conditions. Never for once had he thought of trying to create a skill let alone creating one.

He’d read various fantasy novels where the mc created skills of their own apart from the one’s provided by the system so the idea of creating skills wasn’t out of the box but still.. he didn’t even plan to create a skill let alone creating one.

I gained 500exp from unlocking my spirit state and 1000exp from creating a skill. Kyle stared in awe at the experience points he got from unlocking his spirit state and creating a new skill. As a demon he never expected to have a spirit or soul for that matter. Depicting the fantasy novels such mystical creatures weren’t meant to have souls or spirits.



Take a vampire for example.. they are cold bloodsucking monsters without souls feeding on blood and staying in the dark. Zombies on the other hand are flesh eating mindless monsters preying on flesh and brain. They are depicted to not have a soul as they are classified as the undead. Meaning half dead.

Werewolves on the other hand were the real headache as they are more of part beast and part human mostly depicted to having a soul.

I must admit that was pretty impressive what you did. Eldren’s voice snapped Kyle from his daze putting him on alarm. The latter could see eldren’s spirit gently floating towards him a smile on his lips.

You managed to land a hit on me.. tricky but you did. And not only did you attack me you managed to break past your physical body unleashing your spirit with a bang. Eldren then waved his hand as his body gently flew to him. Under Kyle’s watch eldren’s body then merged with his spirit like Kyle’s but eldren’s was much smoother and incredibly fast.

I must ask young one how did you manage to achieve such a feet? Were you hiding your true strength from me or do you have knowledge about spiritual control? Eldren asked with expectant eyes darting to Kyle. An anticipant and excited look plastered on his face his interest in Kyle growing more deeper. He expected Kyle was hiding some things from him which he didn’t mind but his control over his spirit form was so vivid it made eldren wonder if truly Kyle was a beginner in spiritual knowledge.

I wasn’t holding back on you one bit infact am a bit embarrassed in myself I gave it my all and still couldn’t beat you in a clean fight. Kyle honestly replied scratching his head nervously. He had given it his all to defeat eldren in hand to hand combat but the latter was just on a whole new level above him.

Not only was eldren insanely faster than him he was also stronger and had more battle experience than Kyle. Giving him the upper advantage over Kyle.

And no I have no external knowledge on spirits than the one you’ve taught me. I myself am surprised I managed to release my spirit but I guess I was just going with the flow. Nodding eldren could sense Kyle wasn’t lying. Walking over to Kyle eldren extended his hand to Kyle causing the latter to flinch a bit. He was more waey of eldren after his little stunt earlier and seeing him extend his hand again caused more uneasiness for him.

Don’t worry, am not going to harm you. Eldren smiled stopping his hand waiting for Kyle’s permission. Reluctantly Kyle’s tension eased a bit allowing eldren’s hand to reach him as the latter softly patted his shoulders.

Did I ever tell you you remind me of myself during my youthful days?

Only for the second time. Kyle rolled his eyes sensing a story was coming up. He could see the sudden change in eldren’s expression turning sour as his aura plummeted.



I’ve never shared this with anyone but I feel I can share this with you. Long ago I had a wife and a daughter, we lived in a far away world inhabited only by elves in a kingdom called ellyom. I was the king guiding my people and ensuring our safeties. Eldren’s expression turned more grim his words becoming more heavier with each breath.

Even though we were in a far away world our lives weren’t saved as we were constantly hunt down by our enemies. Vampires, orcs, werewolves golbins, demons to name a few.

Hearing the last word demon Kyle’s eyes widened a bit but he immediately regained composure hiding his shock behind a poker face.

Why did he suddenly mention demon? Is he onto me. Kyle wondered stunned a bit. He was certain no one in the castle knew he was a demon so he thought his identity was safe. But hearing eldren say the word demon made him nervous for unknown reasons.

I knew it.. he’s really a demon. Eldren inwardly said. He’d noticed Kyle’s change in expression when he mentioned demon but he decided to keep a straight face.

Though we were always victorious and barely had any casualties but there was always this lingering unsettling feeling of disaster about to strike. One day I was defending my kingdom from a set of high level beast on a stampede.

I found it weird how they suddenly started a rampage towards the kingdom as such has never happened before. Anyways to cut the whole thing short I got back to find my wife and daughter laying in the pool of their own blood. Eldren bitterly spoke his fist clenched tightly his nails digging into his flesh drawing out blood. Kyle could feel the intensity and burden in eldren’s words as he too understood how it felt to loose someone dear.

It sent an excruciating pain throughout the body scarring the person internally. The grief and guilt also didn’t spare belittling the individual mentally and physically.

Am sorry for your loss. Kyle softly said in a low tone. Even though he was wary of eldren he didn’t let it affect his emotions as he knew what it was like to watch while the ones you swore to protect taken before your very eyes.

I too know what it’s like to loose someone dare.. raising his head a bit eldren stared at Kyle the duo locking gazes for a while before eldren suddenly spoke.

Am not done.. when I found my wife and daughter killed in cold blood next to their lifeless bodies was a handwritten note. Eldren paused his bitterness contorting into that of anger mixed with killing intent.

I hope you like the surprise I left for you to be honest I tried to make it fast and clean but they kept on screaming your name their eyes begging for your return. Anyways.. I want you to know this was your fault. If you’d joined me all this could’ve been avoided. Haa.. oh well your loss.



At the bottom of the letter was a name I would never forget.. Lucifer deadstar. Hearing that name Kyle’s eyes were twitching slightly his hands trembling. His mind immediately went to the demon lord that took everything from him but he wasn’t sure yet it was the same Lucifer so he decided to ask.

Lucifer.. as in the demon lord? Kyle asked just to be sure. Staring at him awkwardly eldren didn’t outright say yes thinking of something. Confusion lurked in him as he seemed to be in a dilemma for a moment.

Yes.. eldren nodded observing Kyle’s reaction. He could see the latter was fuming in anger unlike the initial reaction he’d expected which stunned him a bit.

You’re a demon. Eldren abruptly spoke garning Kyle’s attention.

How long have you know?

At first I wasn’t sure but when you used that skill on Boris and judging from your aura I was sure. The scenario had taken a turn in a flash as the tension could be felt in the atmosphere. Silence eeried in the air as the duo stood still their gazes locked on each other anticipating the other’s next move.

So.. what now?

I don’t know you tell me.. since you’re a demon I can tell you work for Lucifer-

I don’t.. I want to kill him just as much as you do.

Huh? Eldren was a bit taken aback by what Kyle just said. Lucifer was the demon lord the king of all demons. He basically created them to do his biddings so why was Kyle saying he wanted to kill Lucifer?

Is he perhaps the one who took everything from you? Eldren asked to which Kyle slowly nodded. The formers eye then widened a bit a weird smile forming on his curved lips.

Things just got interesting..
