101: Chapter 101 Fall
Governor Jia Mei listened to Sand Snake's desperate shouts without saying a word.
His eyes were cold, without a trace of warmth.
He turned his head and asked the Sand Snake Gang member leading the way in a cold voice, "Does this basement have any other secret exits?"
"No... no," the member shook his head frantically. "But there is a ventilation shaft connecting to the outside."
Governor Jia Mei nodded.
He turned around, took two buckets of thick black liquid from the hands of several brothers behind him, and strode to the ventilation shaft in the corner.
It was flammable Promethium crude oil.
Governor Jia Mei didn't hesitate at all, unscrewing the caps and pouring both buckets of crude oil down the ventilation duct into the basement!
Then, he stepped back a few paces.
He lit a match and tossed it gently into the vent.
"Boom!"
Blue Promethium flames, carrying thick black smoke, instantly erupted into a violent blaze within the basement!
Before long, from behind the iron door of the basement came blood-curdling screams, frantic pounding on the door, and the pungent stench of charred flesh.
After several minutes, the screams gradually faded into a dead silence.
Governor Jia Mei didn't even spare a glance at the iron door, which had been burnt glowing red.
He turned around, looked at his rebel companions—covered in scars and with bloodshot eyes—and raised his gun, pointing straight south.
"Let's go! To the Black Tower!"
The news of Sand Snake being burned alive quickly spread throughout Shahe Town.
Those opportunistic gangs who usually bullied others and followed the wind immediately dropped their weapons and surrendered.
Governor Jia Mei led several thousand bloodshot-eyed rebels, marching grandly toward the Black Tower in the center of town, the symbol of supreme authority.
Shahe Town center, the top floor of the Black Tower.
Unlike the constant gunfire and desperate slaughter outside, this luxurious hall—symbolizing supreme power—was hosting a frenzied feast that transcended the limits of humanity.
Thick velvet curtains completely shut out the noise from the outside world.
The air was filled with a strange pink mist that was sickeningly sweet.
In the corners of the hall, several civilian slaves chained up were wailing in pain.
But upon closer inspection, one would find this was no ordinary torture.
This was a morbid art.
An aristocratic painter in lavish robes was using an exquisite brush to smear vibrant red onto a canvas.
That red pigment was carefully mixed from the arterial blood of the dying and freshly extracted brain fluid.
Only in this way could such a breathtakingly vivid hue be presented on the canvas.
Not far away, several craftsmen were carving a bone sculpture.
The raw materials were several people who had not yet drawn their last breath.
The nobles believed that only by carving directly from the youngest, most vibrant bones could the perfect charm of the moment life fades be captured.
And in the very center of the hall hung a naked person.
His vocal cords were filled with metal tubes and copper megaphones.
Whenever the nearby nobles tortured him, his screams and the resonance of the metal tubes produced a series of shrill yet perfectly rhythmic notes.
This instrument, known as the Doom Siren, provided the accompaniment for this banquet.
In the center of the hall, dozens of male and female nobles were entangled together, barely clothed.
The Trade Overseer, whose face was pale and bloated from excessive indulgence, now showed a morbid flush under the influence of the pink mist.
He swirled the goblet in his hand and stumbled toward the high platform at the front of the hall.
"Distinguished colleagues."
The Overseer's voice carried a hint of intoxicated trembling.
"Please stop what you are doing. Today, I would like to invite everyone to appreciate a rare masterpiece I recently acquired. It is called 'The Starry Night'."
Beside the platform, two blood-soaked slaves pulled down a massive black velvet curtain with all their might.
A copy of Van Gogh's 'The Starry Night,' painted with wasteland pigments, was revealed to everyone.
The moment this painting appeared.
The eerie pink mist in the hall seemed to come alive, stroking the rough canvas as gently as silk.
Then, something incredible happened.
The image on the canvas actually began to twist and squirm!
The giant yellow stars seemed to turn into burning vortexes, and the deep blue night sky spun like a whirlpool, as if to suck the souls of everyone present into it!
The nobles stopped their debauched activities, their eyes fixed intently on the painting.
At first, it was a purely aesthetic shock.
The frenzied colors seemed to turn into physical blades, stabbing fiercely into their optic nerves and detonating unparalleled sensory pleasure in their already numb cerebral cortexes!
But soon, this appreciation of art completely degenerated.
"So beautiful... these colors... they're screaming..."
A noblewoman covered in gold powder murmured to herself.
Her eyes were fixed on the painting, but her hands rose uncontrollably, clawing fiercely at her full chest!
Long, sharp nails instantly tore through the delicate skin, and blood seeped out.
But instead of feeling pain, she threw her head back and let out a sweet, pleasurable moan.
The painting began to emit a strange Warp fluctuation.
The physical veil of reality began to thin within this hall.
The atmosphere in the banquet hall underwent a qualitative change.
What was originally promiscuity for physical pleasure rapidly escalated into a frenzied demand for extreme sensory stimulation!
Simple touching could no longer provide satisfaction.
The nobles began to tear at each other like beasts.
Someone picked up a sharp silver dinner knife from the table and carved artistic patterns, stroke by stroke, into their partner's smooth back;
Someone poured scalding exotic fragrant oil directly onto their body.
Flesh sizzled from the heat, and the smell of roasted meat filled the air.
But strangely, whether victim or torturer, there was no pain on their faces; instead, they simultaneously let out high-pitched screams of ecstasy that seemed to reach the depths of their souls!
"Not enough! Nowhere near enough!"
The Overseer roared frantically.
His eyes had turned completely purple-black, without even a trace of white visible.
His jaw had dislocated from overexcitement, and saliva mixed with blood dripped onto the expensive silk carpet.
At that moment, the canvas of 'The Starry Night' completely melted away.
A rift oozing pink slime tore open on the wall.
Art finally stepped out of the canvas.
With elegant, lithe, yet eerie steps, several tall, curvaceous figures slowly emerged from the pink mist.
They were the servants of the evil god Slaanesh!
They possessed androgynous faces of exquisite beauty, with skin as white as snow covered in fine black leather and barbed black veils.
One of their arms was a slender, delicate hand, soft enough to stir any desire;
While the other was a massive, incredibly sharp crab claw!
If it were a rational citizen of the Empire, they should be screaming the Emperor's name and taking their own life right now.
But in this completely corrupted hall.
There was no fear, only the most fanatical worship.
Those high-and-mighty nobles shed tears of joy, crawling naked on the floor toward these demons descended from the Warp.
Like the most devout believers having an audience with their deity.
A Daemonette walked with an elegant cat-like stride to the noblewoman.
The Daemonette raised her giant pincer, capable of cutting through armor, and like a master sculptor handling marble, she gently and slowly sliced open the noblewoman's abdomen.
She did not resist.
She even proactively reached out her hands, cradling her own intestines as they flowed out of her body.
With a near-sacred smile of ecstasy on her face, she drew her last breath amidst extreme emotion.
Her soul was instantly sucked into the Warp, becoming a delicious dessert for the Prince of Darkness.
And on the platform.
The Overseer spread his arms, proactively welcoming the Daemonette's embrace.
The demon's barbed tongue kissed deep into the Overseer's throat, greedily sucking out his soul.
Meanwhile, the demon's massive pincer swung up and down, snipping off the Overseer's limbs piece by piece!
Blood sprayed everywhere.
During this process of dismemberment, the Overseer did not scream in agony, but instead let out bursts of blood-curdling, ecstatic laughter!
...
Outside the Black Tower.
Governor Jia Mei led several thousand bloodshot-eyed members of the People's Armed Insurgent Army, finally reaching the base of the tower.
"Brothers! Charge in! Slaughter those animals!"
Governor Jia Mei raised his rifle and roared, preparing to lead the charge.
These mortals had no idea that the interior of the Black Tower had already become a terrifying den of demons.
Just as Governor Jia Mei was about to step onto the stairs of the Black Tower.
"BOOM—!!!"
From the distant street behind them, a world-shaking roar of engines suddenly erupted!
Several blinding searchlight beams tore through the darkness like swords, shining directly onto the walls of the tower.
"Boom!"
A 150mm smoothbore shell whistled past, accurately shattering the heavy metal gates of the Black Tower! Rubble and steel fragments flew everywhere!
Governor Jia Mei and the rebels were startled by the sudden bombardment and scrambled for cover.
Tank tracks crushed the ruins.
Five wildly styled light tanks, escorting a dozen troop carriers, aggressively charged into the plaza in front of the tower.
Ming Shen and others led a large group of fully armed players, jumping off the vehicles with guns in hand.
"Everyone, stop right there!"
Ming Shen saw Governor Jia Mei preparing to charge and immediately roared into the megaphone.
Seeing that it was the allies who provided the weapons, Governor Jia Mei breathed a slight sigh of relief and responded loudly:
"You've come at the right time! Have you taken the city gates? Quick, charge in with us, the Overseer is right up there!"
"Charge my ass!"
Ming Shen rushed up the steps in a few strides, grabbed Governor Jia Mei by the collar, and forcefully dragged him back.
As a veteran Warhammer tabletop player, Ming Shen's gaze was fixed on the blasted-open gates of the Black Tower.
Inside the gates, there was no resistance from the noble's private soldiers as expected.
Instead, wisps of faint pink mist drifted out, and the air even echoed with eerie whispers that made anyone who heard them feel dizzy and parched.
Ming Shen's face instantly darkened.
"Something is wrong with the things inside."
Ming Shen immediately turned to look at Governor Jia Mei and the eager rebels, his voice stern to the extreme,
"Listen up! Everyone, fall back immediately! Without my order, no one is allowed to set foot in this tower!"
Governor Jia Mei was stunned, his face full of confusion:
"Why? We've already fought our way here!"
Liver Emperor stepped forward, "This is to save your lives!"
If it were just ordinary nobles, the players would have been more than happy to let these rebels go in and take their revenge.
But now, there were clear signs of Warhammer demons inside.
If these ordinary mortals, whose faith in the Emperor was incomplete and who had no psychic protection, were unfortunate enough to witness a true demonic entity...
The result would be catastrophic!
A mortal's mental firewall simply cannot process visual information that defies the laws of physical reality and shouldn't exist in three-dimensional space.
The moment they see a demon's true form, the brain's self-protection mechanism completely collapses.
Many would go insane on the spot, screaming frantically until their vocal cords were completely torn.
Or, to stop those blasphemous images from continuing to enter their minds, they would scream and gouge out their own eyes with their bare hands, clawing their own faces!
Even closing their eyes wouldn't help; the demon's presence would bypass the retina and project directly into the depths of the mortal's consciousness.
In just a few seconds, these thousands of rebels who had finally stood up would be wiped out, turning into a floor of drooling wrecks who could only giggle or wail!
"The things inside are not something you people can handle."
Ming Shen didn't explain those things to Governor Jia Mei.
He just coldly left those words, then turned to look at the group of players behind him who were itching for a fight.
"Brothers."
Ming Shen pulled down his tactical mask, clicked his rifle into gear, and a grin of excitement curled on his lips:
"There's a big boss inside! Charge with me!"
Under the shocked gazes of Governor Jia Mei and countless rebels.
Several hundred members of The Fourth Calamity, carrying a variety of weapons and howling, dove headlong into the tower where the pink poisonous mist drifted!
