189: Chapter 189 must be purified!

The four grappling hooks below snapped out instantly, tightly locking onto the largest Gargoyle!

"Take my Mandible Shear!"

Accompanied by a roar from the cockpit...

The terrifying pair of mandibles on the Hornet's head snapped shut with a crisp crack, directly crushing the Gargoyle's head to pieces!

The corpse fell limply toward the ground.

...

Inside the command post bunker...

All the native officials and generals were completely dumbfounded, their jaws dropping to the floor.

Duke Louis King's lips trembled violently. He pointed at the terrifying bug in the distance that was devouring another bug's leg, his voice trembling as he asked Nikon Da Niao:

"Is... is this... is this the reinforcement you were talking about?!"

Facing Duke Louis King's trembling lips and disbelieving gaze...

Nikon Da Niao could only steel himself, trying to reassure this group of native high officials whose worldviews had been completely shattered:

"Oh! Don't be afraid!"

Nikon Da Niao pointed at the Flesh Mecha in the distance that were raw-devouring their own kind, explaining with a dry laugh,

"Those aren't xenos monsters, nor are they real bugs. The bugs are just outer vehicles; inside, they are all actual humans piloting them!"

However, hearing this...

The Adeptus Arbites Arbiter, who was still in a daze, snapped out of it instantly.

His face twisted violently, and a cold killing intent erupted in his eyes.

"Heretics! You damn traitors!"

The Arbiter suddenly drew the bolt shotgun from his waist, racked it with a click, and pointed the dark barrel directly at Nikon Da Niao's head.

"How dare you openly research and pilot heretical technology!"

As the most ruthless execution machine of the Lex Imperialis...

In the underlying logic of this Adeptus Arbites Arbiter, the word "gratitude" simply did not exist.

He would not feel grateful just because the Spark Alliance's army had just saved the city.

In their rigid dogmatic eyes, daring to control and use xenos creatures was an unforgivable, severe heresy!

On the other side, the Battle Sister showed even stronger hostility.

In the fanatical dogma of the Ecclesiarchy, xenos were enemies of the God-Emperor, the most unclean abominations.

"This is a heretical corruption even more terrifying than a demonic invasion!"

The Battle Sister drew her Chainsword, raised the purification flamer in her hand, stared fixedly at Nikon Da Niao, and shouted harshly,

"Your souls have been corrupted! You must be purified by flame!"

With that, she was about to pull the trigger of the flamer.

"Stop! Are you all crazy?!"

Duke Louis King and several generals were scared out of their wits.

Being much more pragmatic, they immediately rushed forward, firmly holding down the Arbiter's gun barrel and the sister's arm.

On one hand, they had just witnessed with their own eyes on the video the terrifying strength of the Alliance warriors solo-killing a Tyrant, knowing that these people were absolutely not to be trifled with.

On the other hand, the battle outside was raging, and these monsters were currently helping them hold off the swarm.

If an infighting broke out in the command post and they accidentally killed the Alliance's representative...

Who could stop those thousands of giant monsters outside if they turned around and charged into the city?!

Looking at the gun barrel pointed at him, Nikon Da Niao instantly broke out in a cold sweat on his forehead.

"Damn, that flex backfired. I almost lost my life right there!"

But as a veteran Warhammer lore-enthusiast player, Nikon Da Niao knew the theological-political system of the Warhammer universe inside out.

He knew that reasoning with these religious fanatics was impossible.

The best way to deal with them was to borrow a formidable name to intimidate them!

As long as he brought up a backer even more powerful than them, these country bumpkins who had never left their remote star system in their entire lives would definitely be cowed!

Nikon Da Niao suddenly puffed out his chest, and instead of backing down, he took a step forward.

"Presumptuous! What do you think you are doing?!"

Nikon Da Niao barked, his voice carrying an inviolable authority.

This full-throated shout instantly stunned everyone present.

The Arbiter and the sister stopped their movements one after another, frowning as they looked at him.

"Ignorant!"

Nikon Da Niao pointed at the Arbiter's nose, cursing with deep distress,

"How dare you slander the greatest masterpiece of the Adeptus Mechanicus as heresy?!"

He grew more excited as he spoke, spouting nonsense with full confidence:

"Listen up! Those outside are not xenos at all! They are pure organic servitors!"

"Those are the most efficient organic war machines cultivated through gene-alchemy by the great Archmagos of Mars! They are the supreme holy gifts bestowed upon humanity by the omnissiah to combat the Tyranid plague! How dare you point guns at the gift of the omnissiah? Are you not afraid of incurring the wrath of the omnissiah, causing all your weapons to backfire and explode?!"

"Organic servitors? Creations of the omnissiah?"

The Arbiter and the sister exchanged glances, a hint of hesitation flashing in their eyes.

The Imperial Adeptus Mechanicus was already secretive in its dealings.

Those cogboys covered in gears usually liked to scoop out human brains to make servo-skulls.

If they had a sudden whim to create a batch of bio-mecha specifically targeting the bugs using organic flesh, logically... it seemed to make sense?

And just at this moment!

At the very front lines of the battlefield, a ridiculous scene occurred!

Void Terror, who was charging at the very front and was somewhat disconnected from the main body of players...

The giant bug he was piloting was surrounded by the swarm and besieged by over a dozen Tyranid Warriors.

After a frenzy of slashing...

The legs and the two giant scythes of the giant bug mecha were all severed by the boneswords of the Tyranid Warriors.

Its massive body crashed to the ground, completely losing its combat capability.

Those Tyranid Warriors opened their bloody maws, preparing to feast.

Suddenly!

*Rip—!*

The abdomen of the fallen Flesh Mecha suddenly split open from the inside, revealing a blood-red gash!

Immediately after...

Under the dumbfounded gaze of the Defense Force...

The player Void Terror, holding a heavy Power Axe in both hands, jumped straight out of the mecha's belly!

"How dare you tear apart my mount! I'll fight you beasts to the death!"

Void Terror cursed loudly, raised his Power Axe, activated its force field, and charged head-on at those dozen or so three-meter-tall Tyranid Warriors in a human infantry stance!

With a single swing of his axe, he shattered the skull of the bug charging at the very front!

This scene, of course, was also clearly seen by the people in the command post.

Seeing this, Nikon Da Niao quickly pointed over there and shouted loudly:

"See that?! Open your eyes and look closely! The one crawling out of that monster's belly is a real, pure human warrior! That's the pilot!"

Everyone in the command post gasped in unison.

Fortunately, there was no accompanying Tech-Priest of the Adeptus Mechanicus here today.

Otherwise, Nikon Da Niao's nonsense might have been exposed on the spot.

The Arbiter and the Battle Sister were cowed by Nikon Da Niao's heavy accusation involving the Adeptus Mechanicus, coupled with the fact that they indeed saw a normal human emerge from the monster's belly.

The two hesitated for a moment before finally lowering their weapons.

"Regardless..."

The Arbiter stared coldly at Nikon Da Niao, putting away his shotgun.

"Once this battle is over, I will personally lead a team to conduct a thorough investigation of your forces! If I find even a single shred of Chaos corruption..."

"Investigate all you want!" Nikon Da Niao snapped back without hesitation, though he secretly let out a long sigh of relief.

...

On the battlefield...

With the addition of these five thousand-plus Flesh Mecha, the situation on the front line was instantly reversed!

Controlling their behemoths, the players did not care about losses at all, rampaging through the swarm.

The Defense Force's front line, which was originally on the verge of collapse, finally stabilized again, and they even began to push forward with counter-fire from their trenches.

Just as the ground battle was gradually turning for the better...

*Vroom—!*

A low rumble of engines suddenly echoed from the sky.

Everyone looked up.

Ten massive, heavily armored orbital transport assault ships were spewing plasma trails, slowly descending through the clouds.

On their grayish-black metallic hulls...

...the Aquila emblem of the Imperium was clearly painted, along with a prominent design of a hand holding a burning torch!

That was the emblem of the Spark Alliance!

These ten transport ships met no anti-air resistance. Having received air traffic clearance from Duke Louis King, they landed steadily on the field starport platform not far from the defensive line.

"More reinforcements?" Duke Louis King asked in pleasant surprise.

Nikon Da Niao was also somewhat curious. Wasn't the main force still in space kiting the bugs?

But seeing that torch emblem, he knew they were definitely his own people.

"It's our Alliance's regular army," Nikon Da Niao said, puffing out his chest.

*Hiss—*

The giant front cargo doors of the ten transport ships opened simultaneously.

The ramps slammed heavily onto the ground.

Immediately after...

A uniform, thunderous metallic clatter of footsteps echoed from deep within the cargo holds.

Squads of tall soldiers wearing uniform grayish-black standard-issue Power Armor marched out silently in standard formation, fully armed.

Their equipment was outrageously luxurious!

Every single one of them wore Ranger Power Armor, carried multi-barrel large-caliber lasguns, and had high-explosive armor-piercing grenades hanging from their waists.

The units were even equipped with heavy plasma cannons and heavy Promethium flamers!

What was even more chilling was that these soldiers averaged over two meters in height!

Each was as strong as an iron tower!

A massive force of a full five thousand men.

After disembarking from the transports, they quickly formed five phalanxes on the starport's open ground.

Throughout the entire process, the five thousand men made no noise whatsoever, save for the cold friction of clashing armor.

Subsequently...

...two tall figures broke away from the phalanxes and, guided by a squad of the Defense Force, strode into the frontline command post.

Both removed their helmets at the same time, tucking them under their arms.

Nikon Da Niao recognized these two NPCs at a single glance.

The brawny, fierce-faced man with a bald head on the left was none other than Ironhead.

It was said that before being recruited by Lin Li, this guy was a badass who could tear Orks apart with his bare hands.

And the well-proportioned young man on the right, with slightly pointed ears, was the former mine slave, Pointy Ears.

This force was, of course, the Alliance's direct lineage troops personally ordered into existence by Lin Li and genetically enhanced at the fundamental level by Stone Man Hong—the Central Legion!

They were entirely composed of native NPCs with maxed-out loyalty.

The various officers present, including Duke Louis King, the Arbiter, and the Battle Sister...

...all warily sized up these two giant men who stood a full head taller than them.

Especially the bald one named Ironhead.

The intense sense of oppression radiating from him instinctively made people feel he was extremely dangerous.

However, Ironhead did not speak.

This lad was naturally rather simple-minded.

He merely used his beast-like eyes to coldly sweep over everyone in the command post.

Upon discovering that these native generals were all weaklings...

...he curled his lips in boredom and shifted his gaze directly to the battlefield outside the door.

This single glance...

...instantly made the Arbiter and the Battle Sister feel uneasy, to the point where they did not even dare to meet his gaze.

But when they realized the other party had dismissively looked away, their pride as high imperial officials felt a strong sense of insult.

However, with the other party's terrifying physique and equipment right there, they could not even utter a single tough word.

Compared to Ironhead's arrogance...

Pointy Ears, on the other hand, behaved with great manners.

He took a step forward, first performing a standard Imperial Aquila salute to Duke Louis King.

Then, snapping his legs together, he crisply rendered a Spark Alliance military salute.

"My Lord."

Pointy Ears' voice was very steady, devoid of any emotional coloring.

"The Spark Alliance Central Army, on the orders of the High Lord, has come to reinforce the Ceres Agri-World."

"We will take over the frontal battlefield and purge the Tyranid plague on this planet ourselves."

Having said that, without waiting for Duke Louis King and the other officers to respond...

...Pointy Ears and Ironhead turned around, put on their helmets, and strode out of the command post.

"Central Legion! Target the xenos positions directly ahead! Advance, whole army!"

Along with Pointy Ears' command...

...the five thousand gene-enhanced warriors standing like statues on the starport leveled their heavy weapons in unison.

Like an immovable wall of steel, they marched in lockstep, directly grinding into the bloody frontline battlefield!

Inside the command post...

...the crowd of officers and generals stared blankly at the back of that silent and lethal army, the shock in their hearts unable to subside for a long time.
