67: Chapter 67 Nomads

The ones besieging them were a pack of Orks!

This group of greenskins consisted of fifty or sixty strong Orc Boyzs, led by five massive Orc Bosss wielding Power Axes!

The defensive line had been savagely torn open by the greenskins.

Several Orc Bosss rushed into the crowd with sinister grins; with a single swing of their axes, they could cleave two nomads in half.

Desperate cries and screams echoed throughout the camp.

“Wild mobs are slaughtering a village! What's the plan?” Flash licked his lips and drew the Melta Sword from his back.

Miracle Walker raised the large-caliber Heavy Stubber in his hands, quickly analyzing the situation:

“A head-on fight won't work. There are five Nobs over there; the two of us going down would just be suicide. But look, they're all infantry—no vehicles!”

Miracle Walker patted the motorcycle behind him, a wicked smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

“We can kite them! You drive to pull them around, and I'll pick them off from the back seat! We'll clear those Orc Boyzs first and leave those five Nobs for you to duel!”

“Got it! We can finally play as White Scars bikers for once!”

Flash straddled the motorcycle and twisted the throttle.

“Vroom—”

The motor let out a sharp howl as the crude two-seater motorcycle shot out from cover like an arrow from a bow, charging toward the greenskins' flank!

The sharp howl of the motor tore through the wind of the wasteland.

Like a stampeding mechanical beast, the two-seater motorcycle suddenly lunged from behind the stone forest and plunged into the edge of the chaotic battlefield.

“Greenskin bastards! Look over here!”

Flash twisted the handlebars to the limit, and the motorcycle carved a beautiful arc into the sand, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

The Orks rampaging through the camp were momentarily stunned.

With their walnut-sized brains, they clearly hadn't processed where this two-wheeled little vehicle without even an exhaust pipe had come from.

“Fire!”

Miracle Walker, sitting in the back seat, let out a roar. His legs gripped the seat tightly as he raised the heavy, large-caliber Logging Gun and pulled the trigger at the densest cluster of greenskins.

“Rat-tat-tat-tat!”

Dazzling tongues of fire spat out.

Miracle Walker's marksmanship was vicious, specifically picking off the Orc Boyzs who lacked heavy armor protection.

The large-caliber bullets carried immense kinetic energy, instantly shredding the chests of three or four Orks.

Green blood mixed with minced meat splattered across the ground.

“WAAAGH!!!”

The sudden attack completely enraged the bloodthirsty monsters.

The Orks abandoned the nomads they were slaughtering, brandishing their choppas and sluggas as they roared and lunged toward the motorcycle.

“The kiting begins! Hold on tight!”

Flash laughed excitedly, swerving the handlebars as the motorcycle grazed the edge of the Orks' encirclement.

Although the Ork infantry wasn't slow, how could they possibly outrun an electric motorcycle?

They were left eating dust behind the bike, roaring in fury and firing their guns wildly, but the bullets only kicked up dirt pits in the sand behind the motorcycle.

Miracle Walker sat comfortably in the back seat, treating the motorcycle as a mobile fire point.

“Bang! Bang!”

He calmly fired in long bursts.

Every time the muzzle jumped, a greenskin boy was guaranteed to fall with a scream.

“This is awesome! This is what an absolute cavalry-vs-infantry stomp feels like!”

Miracle Walker laughed wildly while changing magazines.

“Flash, keep your distance! Don't let them flank us!”

“Don't worry! With my maneuvering, even the God of Mount Akina would have to offer me a cigarette!”

The two coordinated seamlessly.

The motorcycle was like an annoying fly, constantly pulling and circling around the Orks' formation.

The Orks couldn't catch them if they chased, and were picked off if they retreated; they were being tormented into total helplessness by this shameless tactic.

In less than ten minutes.

More than half of the fifty or sixty once-arrogant Orc Boyzs had been systematically wiped out by Miracle Walker as if he were taking roll call.

The remaining greenskins had their formation broken and were running around in disarray.

“Trash mobs cleared! Ease up on the gas!” Miracle Walker patted Flash on the shoulder.

Flash squeezed the brakes, and the motorcycle slid for over ten meters across the sand before coming to a steady stop.

He hopped off the bike, casually handing the handlebars to Miracle Walker, and then drew the heavy demolition Melta Sword from his back.

“Now, it's my turn to show off.”

Flash licked his lips and pressed his thumb heavily onto the ignition switch on the hilt.

“Hum—”

The previously dull blade instantly erupted with a blinding dark-red glow, and the surrounding air warped violently from the thousands of degrees of heat.

Not far away, the five largest Orc Bosss were reaching the peak of their fury because their subordinates had been slaughtered.

Carrying sizzling Power Axes, they marched with heavy steps, closing in on Flash like mobile mountains of flesh.

“Puny humie! I’z gonna crush ya!”

The two Orc Bosss in the lead let out a roar. From the left and right, they raised their heavy Power Axes and swung them down fiercely toward Flash's head.

The nomads in the distance closed their eyes in despair at the sight.

To them, it seemed certain that the human in the strange exoskeleton would be hacked into meat paste.

However, there wasn't a hint of panic in Flash's eyes, only the absolute, cold calculation of a player facing a Boss.

“Too slow. With a wind-up that big, it's nothing but openings.”

At the very moment the two axes were about to land, Flash moved.

He didn't block; instead, he bent his knees and performed a textbook Souls-like roll, sliding through the gap between the two axes by the narrowest of margins.

“BOOM!”

The two Power Axes slammed heavily into the sand, cratering the ground.

“My turn!”

Flash used the momentum of his roll to spring up, gripping the high-temperature Melta Sword with both hands. Using the torque from his waist, he delivered a powerful horizontal sweep!

The blazing red blade sliced through the air without resistance, cutting through the left Orc Boss's thigh as smoothly as a knife through tofu.

The high temperature instantly carbonized the wound; not a single drop of blood flowed out.

“Agh—”

Losing his balance, the Orc Boss crashed to the ground.

Seeing this, the Orc Boss on the right roared and swung a backhanded slap at Flash.

Flash's gaze sharpened, and instead of retreating, he advanced.

He slid directly into the Orc Boss's chest, dodging the lethal giant palm. Immediately after, he gripped the hilt with both hands and thrust the sword upward, stabbing it fiercely into the Orc Boss's chin!

The high-temperature blade pierced straight through the greenskin's hard skull and emerged from the top of its head.

The second Orc Boss didn't even make a sound. Its massive body stiffened instantly before crashing to the ground like a collapsing iron tower, dead as could be.

Fluid as water! A flawless double kill!

The entire process took less than five seconds.

The remaining three Orc Bosss hadn't even had time to run over and help.

Miracle Walker cheered loudly from behind while holding his gun: “Beautiful! I'm giving you a perfect score for that play!”

“Rat-tat-tat!”

Miracle Walker didn't give the remaining three Nobs time to react, using the Logging Gun to provide suppressive fire.

Flash, carrying the Melta Sword, followed the same pattern. Coordinating with Miracle Walker's line of fire, he cleanly and efficiently harvested the lives of the remaining three Nobs.

The battle was over.

Only the sound of the wind blowing across the sand remained on the wasteland, along with the charred corpses of greenskins scattered everywhere.

The three or four hundred shaken nomads in the camp were all staring blankly at these two sudden arrivals from the heavens as if they were looking at gods.

In their years of wasteland survival experience, greenskin Orks were invincible nightmares.

When encountering a greenskin raiding party of this scale, their entire tribe would usually be slaughtered to the last person.

Yet these two people, riding just a single strange two-wheeled vehicle, had wiped out the entire pack!

An old man who looked like a tribal elder walked over, trembling, supported by two strong tribesmen.

He leaned on a bone staff and, upon reaching Flash and Miracle Walker, shouted something loudly.

As the old man knelt, the hundreds of nomads behind him also dropped their weapons and knelt in unison.

“Hey, hey, hey, don't kneel. This is embarrassing.”

Flash quickly put away his Melta Sword and stepped forward to help the old man up.

“Old man, do you have any hidden quests? A reward or a skill book would be nice!”

Miracle Walker also leaned in, his face full of anticipation.

The old man looked up at them with eyes full of awe and spoke another long string of gibberish.

Flash and Miracle Walker stared at each other.

“I can't understand this. It doesn't sound like gothic; it's more like some weird dialect.”

“Language barrier, we can't communicate. Can't take any quests either.”

Miracle Walker shrugged helplessly.

“Forget it, at least the greenskins are cleared. The Ork teeth and weapons on the ground are all points; let's hurry up and loot!”

The two unceremoniously rummaged through the Ork corpses, stuffing all the valuable items into the motorcycle's storage compartment.

After the looting was finished, they straddled the motorcycle.

“See you around, folks! We're heading back to turn in our quest!”

Flash waved at the nomads and twisted the throttle. Amidst a cloud of flying dust, the motorcycle sped off toward the east, in the direction of the Fire Seed Shelter.

However.

When they had driven over a dozen kilometers, Miracle Walker happened to look back and was suddenly startled.

“Flash! Look behind us!”

Flash turned his head.

A long trail of dust was rising a few hundred meters behind them.

Those hundreds of wasteland nomads, instead of staying behind to rebuild their camp, had packed up all their belongings and were following them, riding mutant horse-like creatures with sharp horns on their heads!

“What the hell? Why are these NPCs following us?” Flash slammed on the brakes.

Seeing them stop, the group of nomads also immediately pulled their reins and stopped in the distance, not daring to approach, but watching them from afar with fanatical and persistent gazes.

“Are... are they sticking to us?” Miracle Walker swallowed hard.

“This is bad. Are we bringing wolves into the house, or are we human trafficking?”

Flash's scalp felt numb.

“That's three or four hundred mouths to feed! If we bring them back to the Shelter, Boss Lin Li will definitely skin us alive!”

“What do we do then? We can't exactly shoot to drive them away, can we?”

Miracle Walker looked at the ragged, emaciated women and children and really couldn't bring himself to do it.

“Forget it, whatever! Let's just drive back and throw this hot potato to the Boss to handle!”

Flash gritted his teeth and started the motorcycle again, racing toward the Shelter.

...

Two hours later.

Fire Seed Shelter, third basement level, main control room.

Lin Li was sitting in front of the computer, checking various data indicators of the new players, and he was in a quite good mood.

“The grind of these newcomers is indeed impressive; they've generated so much GDP on the first day. Once the battery packaging machine starts running, the camp's production capacity can double.”

Just as he was calculating the next expansion plan.

“Creator.”

STC-73's red light flickered, and its cold electronic voice broke the silence.

“A large-scale biological group is detected rapidly approaching the Shelter. They are currently staying on the Gobi desert three kilometers away from the camp.”

“Large-scale biological group?” Lin Li sat up straight. “Are the Orks attacking?”

“Negative. Genetic scans indicate they are human. The number is approximately three hundred and fifty. They are riding some form of Mutant Horned Horses.”

73 switched the surface surveillance footage to the main screen.

On the screen, Flash and Miracle Walker were pushing their motorcycle, standing outside the camp gate with guilty expressions.

And not far behind them, a dense crowd of wasteland refugees dressed in tattered furs was kneeling on the ground.

Lin Li looked at the three or four hundred faces on the screen, gaunt from years of malnutrition, and then at the skeletal pack animals beside them.

The corner of his eye began to twitch violently.

“These two idiots... I sent them to map the area, and they freaking brought back an entire village of refugees?!”

Lin Li slammed his hand on the table in frustration.

The Shelter's food problem hadn't been solved yet; the current food reserves were already tight, barely enough to support the players and existing miners.

Suddenly having over three hundred extra mouths to feed was going to be difficult.

But if he directly drove them away, with greenskins everywhere outside, it would be no different from sending them to their deaths.

Furthermore, Lin Li used the slogan of 'restoring humanity' to motivate the players; driving them away would clearly dampen their enthusiasm.
