28: Chapter 28 Technique!

Zhou Jingtang truly lived up to his reputation as a titan of the medical world.

He didn't rush to crudely categorize the situation as some "rare myopathy," but instead quickly grasped the core of the problem.

"This power didn't appear out of thin air, nor is it simply a loss of control," Zhou Jingtang said as he sat by the bedside, his tone calm and his logic exceptionally clear. "Its essence is that your neural recruitment sequence has changed. When a normal person exerts force, the brain issues a command, motor units are recruited layer by layer, muscle fibers respond in turn, and the power is transmitted layer by layer along the fascia, tendons, and bones."

"Your current problem is that these motor units, which should have been activated in stages, are being lit up prematurely by some special circumstance."

"They light up too quickly and too intensely, which is why you feel local stinging and tremors before the onset, followed by a sudden explosion of power."

Li Yuefeng listened intently.

A man like him, who had seen blood and endured hardships, possessed a nearly instinctive sensitivity to danger. He could see that Elder Zhou Jingtang was deconstructing the changes occurring within his body.

Zhou Jingtang continued:

"If we follow the logic of traditional medicine, the safest approach would naturally be suppression—reducing stimulation, lowering the trigger frequency, and trying to prevent it from losing control again. But suppression doesn't mean a solution." Elder Zhou Jingtang paused.

However, from the side, a voice suddenly rang out.

"Why not try to master it?"

Su Ye stood nearby, his gaze fixed on Li Yuefeng's forearm while his mind raced through simulations. Muscle fibers, fascia alignment, tremor frequency, and local force compression paths—all this information intertwined and collided in his mind like a high-speed precision computer.

The room fell silent for a moment.

Even Li Yuefeng was stunned.

Zhou Jingtang slowly raised his eyes to look at Su Ye. A faint glint of light flashed in his eyes, and he finally broke into a smile.

"Young people's ideas are often radical, but you've put it very well."

Li Yuefeng's heart also jolted.

He recalled the moment he had crushed the metal doorknob that day—the stinging in his forearm, the muscle tremors, and then the explosion of power in his palm. At that moment, he hadn't actually been afraid; he was shocked, and deep down, there was even an irrepressible thrill.

Because that power was simply too strong.

So strong that it far exceeded the limits of a normal person.

If this power wasn't a loss of control, but something he could master and command...

He thought of the situation at the Military Region, and his expression turned solemn.

"Please guide me, Elder Zhou."

"Using medical knowledge to help you master it might indeed be possible. I never expected to encounter such a rarity in my lifetime. It truly is interesting."

After saying this, Zhou Jingtang gestured for Su Ye to come closer as well.

"You come here too. Let's observe and think together."

Su Ye's heart stirred slightly, and he immediately approached.

Over the next ten minutes or so, Zhou Jingtang began to guide Li Yuefeng step-by-step to feel that power.

It wasn't about exerting force directly.

It started with the smallest movements.

Clenching the fist, releasing, and clenching again.

Not using full strength, but only twenty or thirty percent, keeping the forearm muscles right on the edge of "about to tremor."

"Don't be in a hurry to strike it out," Zhou Jingtang said in a steady voice. "Feel it first. Feel where that stinging starts, which muscle bundle tightens first, and which layer of fascia tenses up first."

Li Yuefeng closed his eyes and followed the instructions.

The first time, he couldn't find it.

The second time, his forearm trembled slightly and the feeling immediately dissipated.

The third time, that familiar vibration deep within the muscles surfaced again.

Meanwhile, Su Ye stood to the side, pushing his Mental Energy to its absolute limit.

His perception spread out along the lines of Li Yuefeng's muscles, observing how that layer of vibration appeared, gathered, and was transmitted.

His mind was calculating rapidly.

He wasn't just looking vaguely.

He was deconstructing it.

The forearm flexor muscles vibrated first, then the fascia tightened. The power didn't leak out directly but was compressed toward the base of the palm and the knuckles. Every tremor was a miniature charge; the denser the vibration, the harder the compression, and the more concentrated the force when it finally exploded outward.

Drawing inferences from this.

Li Yuefeng had completed this process in his forearm.

What if it were himself?

What if it were the surface of the fist, the elbow, or the shoulder?

The more Su Ye watched, the more he felt that what he was seeing wasn't a "disease" but a naturally derived rule of force exertion. It was a "Technique"—a high-intensity offensive method evolved by the human body under the stimulation of Spiritual Energy.

Zhou Jingtang's voice rang out again.

"Don't think about striking it out all at once."

"First, retract."

"Keep that vibration contained within the muscles; don't let it run wild."

"Then, gather."

"Direct it toward a single point."

"Finally, release."

Beads of sweat appeared on Li Yuefeng's forehead and his face turned pale. Learning and controlling this sensation left his spirit infinitely exhausted, and his breathing gradually grew heavy. Moreover, he looked somewhat pained, his hand repeatedly clutching his chest.

At a certain moment.

He suddenly pressed a palm down onto the small table by the bed.

Bang.

The sound wasn't loud.

The tabletop didn't crack.

But the water glass on the table suddenly jumped, and the surface of the water inside vibrated violently, sending out ring after ring of dense ripples.

Li Yuefeng was panting, yet he was also stunned.

A hint of a smile appeared in Zhou Jingtang's eyes.

"That's about it. Guided by medical knowledge, you've attempted a similar kind of power control. However, exploding with the kind of force you mentioned—like crushing metal—is still quite difficult. It requires your own comprehension and muscle control precise to the millimeter. This requires practice."

Li Yuefeng looked down at his hands, his expression so excited that his face was almost flushed.

"Although I don't fully understand it yet, I believe I will soon be able to try and master this power. Thank you, Elder Zhou."

Having said that, he looked at Su Ye again, his tone much more solemn.

"And you, thank you, young man."

Su Ye returned the gesture respectfully.

A significant wave of emotion had already risen in his heart.

This soldier named Li Yuefeng definitely had an unusual identity.

Being able to call the semi-retired Zhou Jingtang out for a personal consultation spoke volumes, and his tempered bones, muscles, and the murderous aura in his eyes were enough to show that this man was by no means an ordinary soldier.

Soldier King.

It was almost the first word that popped into Su Ye's mind.

Such a person, even if he didn't possess an obvious "talent" like Wang Ming to condense a Rudimentary Golden Core, had muscles, fascia, and a skeletal frame tempered to the limit. Under the long-term soaking of Spiritual Energy, these had evolved first, giving rise to such a "Technique" following the most instinctive rules of force exertion.

Su Ye kept watching and memorizing.

He even began to feel somewhat fortunate that he had a Water-element Golden Core within him.

A brain enhanced by Mental Energy was simply invincible.

Having seen it once, he could remember it.

Looking closely enough, he could even continuously deconstruct, reorganize, and simulate it in his mind.

When Li Yuefeng stood up, he gave Zhou Jingtang a serious salute.

Then he turned and nodded to Su Ye.

That gaze was no longer just looking at a junior, but carried a deeper meaning.

Then, he left the hospital room.

The door to the room closed softly.

The room became quiet once again.

In Su Ye's mind, those trajectories of vibration, compression, focusing, and explosion continued to echo.
