179: Chapter 179 Won't Steal Any Planes

Wang Ye watched Iwo Jima gradually approaching, having already decided in his heart how he would properly whip the opposition into shape later.

However, he hadn't been flying for long before a rumbling sound suddenly came from behind him.

Hearing this, Wang Ye turned his head to see what was happening behind him. No sooner had he turned than he saw a plane charging straight at him.

Seeing this, Wang Ye's eyes widened, and he hurriedly maneuvered his plane to dodge to the side. A few seconds later, he narrowly avoided the aircraft.

The plane zoomed past him with a "whoosh," leaving Wang Ye dumbfounded.

In the livestream room, the audience felt it was incredibly thrilling to witness this scene.

"Damn, was that speeding? What the...?"

"What is the guy above talking about? A plane speeding? Listen to what you're saying!"

"Since when are there traffic laws on the battlefield?"

"That plane was too intense; it almost wiped out Brother Wang."

At this moment, Wang Ye felt like his heart was about to jump out of his chest. He watched the plane drift further and further away before suddenly descending vertically. Yes, vertically.

The plane plummeted straight down, spinning and rolling as it fell. Upon closer inspection, the plane's left wing had already snapped off.

Wang Ye continued flying forward and did not encounter any more such accidents. When he reached the airspace above Iwo Jima, he realized the island was actually quite large. However, he didn't see a single person.

After circling twice, he had no choice but to randomly pick a bunker and drop the bombs his plane was carrying.

The bomb exploded, echoing across Iwo Jima. Inside the bunker, the violent sound of the explosion gave the players quite a fright.

They had been fighting for nearly an hour without hearing the sound of enemy planes, so its sudden arrival immediately made them nervous.

However, they soon discovered that after that one explosion, no more bombs fell. This left them completely confused.

Was that single bomb just scratching an itch for them? It didn't hurt at all!

On the other side, after dropping the bomb, Wang Ye prepared to return. The endurance of this fighter plane was a bit short. He had only circled twice, and more than half of the fuel was gone, almost bottoming out.

Wang Ye flew towards the aircraft carrier and soon spotted it. However, when it came time to land, he felt a bit nervous. Because he had never landed before, he wasn't very good at it.

Helpless, he could only attempt to land based on his own intuition. The first landing attempt failed. He was a bit too cautious, flying too high and drifting right over the deck.

The ground crew on the deck looked at the plane drifting past, completely dumbfounded. However, compared to those who crashed upon takeoff or slammed into the deck while landing, this was already considered decent.

The second landing attempt also failed; he overshot it. At this point, the plane's fuel was about to bottom out. If he couldn't land successfully on the third attempt, he would run out of fuel and fall into the sea.

Taking a deep breath, Wang Ye held it and dove downward. The audience in the livestream room saw this and broke into a cold sweat for Wang Ye.

They nervously watched the plane Wang Ye was flying gradually approach the deck. When the plane's landing gear touched the deck, the audience in the livestream room became excited.

"Holy crap! He landed successfully."

"Scared the hell out of me, I thought he was going to crash."

"Being too immersive isn't always a good thing; I almost thought I was going to fall into the sea."

"Thank goodness, thank goodness, he landed successfully. Luckily, it didn't explode."

After landing, Wang Ye wiped the sweat from his forehead. He had been extremely nervous just now, terrified that he would crash the plane directly onto the deck. He climbed out of the plane, trembling slightly.

Standing on the solid deck, Wang Ye finally recovered from his nervousness. He glanced at the deck and noticed that his was the only plane there.

At this moment, the ground crew rushed over, hauled the plane away, and went to replenish its ammunition and fuel.

A ground crew member walked over and greeted Wang Ye. "Hey, brother, it's rare that you're the first pilot to land today."

Hearing the ground crew member's words, Wang Ye was stunned for a moment. "Me, the first one to land?"

"Yeah, most of them vanish without a trace after flying the planes out; all the planes on our carrier are gone." The ground crew member nodded, his expression somewhat complicated.

"This is the first time I've seen this situation. Apart from you, not a single other plane has flown back."

Wang Ye's mouth twitched. What on earth were those pilots doing? Could it be that they all flew out and crashed into the sea? They were really something.

...

Meanwhile, on the beachhead. Inside a Sherman tank, Tian Yu was driving, swaying the tank left and right.

Beside him, Liu Yang was firing at the bunker openings. The Anti-aircraft guns inside those bunkers were truly disgusting.

But none of the other tank players were shooting at the bunkers; driving the tanks out was just throwing them away. The beachhead was littered with the wreckage of their own tanks and amphibious landing vehicles.

Even with such good weapons, they had somehow managed to turn it into an uphill battle. The score was now 24,580 to 17,986. The gap had narrowed just a tiny bit.

At this moment, their tank charged up the slope in one go, followed by several Assault Troopers. Using their position as the breakthrough point, the Allied Forces players, who had previously been attacking without any plan, immediately found a leader.

Following the tank that Tian Yu and the others were in, they were finally no longer just passively taking a beating. Now their goal was to capture Mount Suribachi. Once captured, they could use this mountain as a stronghold to attack enemy positions elsewhere.

And the opposition would no longer be able to use the fortifications on the mountain to stop them from landing.

"Brothers, follow me and charge! The enemy's ammo isn't infinite; now it's our turn to strike back!"

Someone shouted, and behind him, a group of Allied Forces players followed him in the charge.

Inside the bunker on Mount Suribachi, just as that player had said, the defenders' ammunition was not infinite. Especially the ammunition for the Anti-aircraft guns, there wasn't much left.

Old Kui had been having a lot of fun earlier, but now he realized that the ammunition for his Anti-aircraft gun was almost used up. On the other hand, Old Hei's machine gun still had plenty of bullets.

It was fun earlier, but now he could only use the gun in his hand to kill people.

"No more shells, my fun is over." Old Kui looked at the empty ammunition box and sighed heavily.

"Hahaha, Old Kui, your cannon is out of shells now, right? You'll have to use the poker in your hand."

Seeing Old Kui sighing at the Anti-aircraft gun in front of him, Old Hei immediately laughed out loud.

"It's fine, I've had my fun. Look at my score; I'm guaranteed to gain points this round." Hearing Old Hei's laughter, Old Kui didn't care.

He opened the scoreboard, and he was still at the top. Moreover, his score was quite a bit higher than the combined scores of the second to tenth place players.

With this gap, even if he slacked off for the rest of the game, it wasn't something the second-place player could easily surpass. Upon hearing this, the smile on Old Hei's face instantly froze.
