83: Chapter 83 Fragments of Memory

Near his flank, a scorching smell suddenly appeared.

Under the might of this cluster of Void Magic Flame, a fist-sized hole also appeared on the petrified Minotaur before him.

Ross enchanted the effect of the Hand of Magic onto his own hands, then used his right hand to press against the Minotaur's head, preventing it from turning around in time.

His left hand drilled like lightning precisely into the hole on the monster's flank, expanding the torn wound once again.

"Die!"

Following that, as Ross's left hand also became free, his elbow pressed against the monster's head, and both hands directly ripped open the monster's flank area.

The Minotaur-like monster before him had already been ripped apart at the waist by him.

"Who says a wizard cannot engage in close combat? As long as one attaches the Hand of Magic to their body, it is equivalent to the standard of a warrior."

With a bang,

after the Minotaur stone statue in front of him was cut in half at the waist, it fell to the ground with a loud noise.

The entire process happened in a flash of lightning and flint, starting from Ross using the Hand of Magic to deal with the two lizard scouts.

To him turning around to press against the head of the Minotaur stone person, then using the Magic Flame to open a gap from its flank, and finally tearing apart its entire waistline, all of this took no more than a dozen seconds.

But within these brief dozen seconds, a fierce conflict erupted.

Whether it was Ross's Spell fluctuations, the dull, loud thuds of these wild monsters dropping to the ground, or the piercing screeches of the stone statue cracking and splashing against the surrounding walls,

these battle fluctuations were like a giant boulder being thrown into a calm lake, rapidly echoing through the surrounding maze corridors.

"There's no time to closely observe the corpses of these monsters."

Ross fixed his gaze on the corpses of those two lizard scouts, decisively packing them into his magic pocket.

Monster lizards were also a common type of monster, but the monsters here seemed to have been cast with an effect similar to a petrification curse, causing their Physical Body to become like stone statues.

However, the green blood that had just spurted from the necks of these lizard demon-men proved that these corpses still retained a trace of their original biological vitality.

They still had research value and could not be wasted.

Just in the time it took for Ross to collect these two corpses, he wasted another second or two.

At this moment, the nearest patrol team seemed to have already reached the next corner, and he had to relocate as soon as possible.

Ross no longer wanted to linger in the fight. After eyeing a direction, he chose a passage intersection with no movement and no sound to head towards, his figure rapidly retreating.

While retreating in that direction, for his own safety, Ross also fired the Magic Flame condensed in his left hand in the opposite direction.

At this moment, Ross intentionally slowed down the input of his mana; this time, what he condensed was the Magic Flame composed of fire elements.

Although due to insufficient mana input, the power might not be that great, the explosive effect of the fire elements was still extremely conspicuous in this dim maze.

The fireball was rapidly condensed by him and then tossed into the opposite passage.

"Boom!"

At this time, the Magic Flame composed of fire elements, or rather a scorching fireball, exploded in the distance.

The bright fiery light and the sound of violent elemental fluctuations attracted most of the patrolling wild monsters drawn by Ross's battle fluctuations.

Meanwhile, Ross took the opportunity to blend into a dark maze passage, rapidly distancing himself from this place of trouble.

Fortunately, the patrolling wild monsters in this maze seemed to have rather low intelligence, lacking the wisdom of their original forms.

They could basically be regarded as the Spell effects of animated stone statues.

However, after closely studying the headless lizard scout corpse he was holding in his hand,

Ross discovered that these stone statues were originally transformed from intelligent creatures. This was also why, after the outer layer of the stone statue cracked, biological blood would still flow from the deepest part.

"I don't know who the Official Wizard of this Secret Realm is, but judging by this method, they should be a rather cruel wizard."

You must know that the current Wizard World still relatively protects the intelligent races within the world.

It does not allow wizards to wantonly hunt or enslave these ethnic groups.

Who knows which era's old antique this wizard belongs to?

Or perhaps these races petrified by him came from an alien world outside the plane.

As the scout's corpse before him shattered, a familiar light was also transmitted into Ross's mind.

"Mental Energy +1"

"Not bad, still the familiar taste."

Although it wasn't a Secret Realm formed by the Wizard World devouring fragments of a foreign world, this Secret Realm formed by the echo of an Official Wizard still had the function of improving the Mental Energy of a Wizard Apprentice.

At the same time, along with the increase in Mental Energy, Ross was also digesting some memories transmitted to him by these petrified statue monsters.

"This seems to be..." Ross stopped in his tracks, looking somewhat surprised at this moment. "Within this light, aside from being able to enhance Mental Energy, there are actually memory fragments of an Official Wizard, which contain his understanding of magic, sorcery, and so on."

Ross looked at the maze composed of huge walls in the desolate and chilling Maze Graveyard before him, as well as the large number of patrolling stone monsters existing within this huge maze, and came to a realization.

"So that's how it is."

"As long as one kills these stone monsters in this Secret Realm, they can obtain a portion of the memories of this Secret Realm's owner, which is that Official Wizard. They can acquire some of his original understanding of first-ring sorcery, or sorcery and magic below the first ring."

"Of course, the memory fragments contained within these stone statues are not all the memories of that Official Wizard. Most of these memory fragments are fragmented, but they still retain the essence of that Official Wizard's research on magic."

Within this Secret Realm, the original wizard had already died, and what remained was naturally his essence.

These memories remaining after death, along with the understanding of magic, were confined within the Echo Secret Realm by the academy using some unknown means.

I'm afraid those private memories had already been dealt with by the Official Wizard before death. What remained was mostly the research knowledge and understanding of magic and sorcery.

But this also meant that as time passed, more and more important magic knowledge would be left behind here.

Ross thought to himself at this moment, "In other words, within this maze Secret Realm, every single patrolling stone monster is a memory fragment. They are like a mineral vein; as long as I kill more of them, not only can I enhance my Mental Energy, but I can also acquire a memory fragment from an Official Wizard."
