293: Heartless Radish

Thinking about how Feng Ming had taken advantage of her before, Hua Dieer’s courage grew in her anger. She cleared her throat and adopted an interrogative posture: “I ask you, are you a fickle man?”

“No.” Feng Ming’s answer was direct and swift, without the slightest hesitation.

Hua Dieer immediately became displeased, her willow-like brows furrowing: “You answered quickly, but if you’re not a fickle man, then why are you surrounded by one woman after another? Shuwan, Sister Anan, and also Qianqian, don’t think I don’t know.”

She leaned in closer, her tone somewhat pressing: “Tell me, what is your relationship with Qianqian now?”

“She likes me, and I like her too.”

“Aren’t you ashamed!” Hua Dieer angrily raised her hand and hit him, “You’re already in love with the older sister, and you’re still thinking about the younger sister, not even letting go of sisters. You’re a complete scumbag!”

Though her words were harsh, her voice unconsciously softened, and the temperature of her cheeks rose a few degrees. She stammered out the question that had been hidden in her heart for a long time: “Then… do you like me?”

“I like you.” Feng Ming’s answer still held no hesitation.

Hua Dieer’s heart gave a sudden leap, and the corners of her mouth uncontrollably turned upwards, yet she feigned ferocity and glared at him: “Who wants you to like them!”

Joy surged in her heart. She pursed her lips and then pressed on, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz: “Then… will you marry me?”

“I will.”

Receiving the affirmative reply, Hua Dieer’s heart beat even faster, her fingertips trembling slightly, yet she still bit the bullet and asked: “Then if I marry you, will I be a concubine or the main wife?”

Feng Ming was silent for a moment, then spoke, his voice clear and firm: “In this life, I, Feng Ming, will only have a wife, no concubines.”

Hua Dieer was first stunned by his words, then couldn’t help but laugh out loud, though she still didn’t let up: “You know how to talk, and you even know about spreading your favor equally.” She paused, then looked up, her eyes holding a hint of cunning temptation: “Then I’ll ask you again, do you like me more, or Jiang Shuwan more?”

“I like both.”

“You still won’t admit you’re fickle!” Hua Dieer pouted, feigning dissatisfaction, but her heart was sweet, as if she held a piece of candy.

She shook her head, casting away those messy thoughts, then raised a finger and pointed at herself, her voice carrying a hint of command, yet also a trace of undetectable nervousness: “You… you hug me.”

Before her words finished, Feng Ming stepped forward, extended his arms, and steadily pulled her into his embrace.

His firm chest pressed against her cheek, and his powerful heartbeat transmitted through his clothes, carrying a reassuring strength.

Hua Dieer’s face instantly flushed crimson, almost dripping blood. She struggled a bit, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s hum: “You hooligan! Who told you to hug me!”

Though her mouth spoke words of resistance, her body honestly nestled into his embrace, and her arms unconsciously wrapped around his waist.

She muttered to herself: It’s not my fault, his arms are too strong, I can’t break free… Thinking this, her hands began to become restless again, quietly caressing his well-defined abdominal muscles.

She happily calculated in her heart: Anyway, he's under control, so touching him a few times doesn't matter, it's just paying him back for past grievances!

She was enjoying her touch (touching) immensely when she looked up to confirm if he was still dazed, only to unexpectedly meet a pair of smiling eyes.

How could that be a vacant gaze of enchantment? It was clearly a sea of stars filled with teasing and tenderness.

Hua Dieer’s movements instantly froze, her mind a blank.

Feng Ming looked down at the stunned little girl in his arms, his Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice deep and hoarse, with a hint of laughter: “Had enough touching?”

Before Hua Dieer could react, he tilted his head slightly and leaned in.

The moment their lips touched, Hua Dieer’s blood seemed to rush to her head, and even her breathing paused for half a second.

The warm touch came, carrying the crispness of moonlight and the moist scent of pond water, completely different from Feng Ming's usual domineering approach, revealing a hint of careful tenderness that made her fingertips tingle.

She instinctively widened her eyes, but only saw Feng Ming’s slowly closing eyes, and his long lashes so close. The pond water gently swayed, creating ripples that blended their figures, along with the full pond of moonlight, into a tender painting.

The touch of their lips was scorching. Hua Dieer shivered, then abruptly pushed Feng Ming away, staggering a couple of steps in the pond water and splashing water everywhere.

In an instant, Hua Dieer felt all her strength drained away, her legs as soft as if she were stepping on cotton, almost causing her to fall into the pond.

The next moment, a pair of warm, strong hands steadily embraced her waist.

A trace of doubt flashed through Hua Dieer’s mind; she hadn’t given any instructions.

But this slight doubt was quickly drowned by an overwhelming surge of emotion. The cool moonlight flowed over the pond water and over their touching skin. Everything around them became a blurry background, leaving only the softness between their lips and the roar of their heartbeats.

After an unknown amount of time, Hua Dieer clutched Feng Ming’s clothes, her pearly teeth gently biting her lower lip, and squeezed out a single word amidst her soft whimpers: “No…”

But the lingering sound quickly dissipated in the evening breeze.

She suddenly remembered that Feng Ming was still under her charm, and even when he would wake up tomorrow morning was up to her. As long as she wished, she could make him completely forget everything about tonight.

Emotions that had been suppressed for too long surged forth. This time, she didn't want to retreat. The unspoken word "want" was swallowed back, replaced by her slightly raised chin.

The night on the mountaintop was so quiet that only the sound of the wind remained. The mottled shadow of the Crooked-Necked Tree fell on the water, and the cool moonlight and rippling waves silently bore witness to the tenderness by the pond.

This night, the pond water was cold, but their hearts were burning hot. Hua Dieer finally shed her maidenly shyness, completely transforming into a true woman.

Staying in the cold pond water for too long was harmful. Feng Ming scooped her up, as soft as a puddle of spring water, and carried her under the Crooked-Necked Tree. They lay nestled together on the soft grass, the moonlight covering them like a thin veil, embracing each other and falling asleep amidst the chirping of insects.

The next morning, as dawn was just breaking, a furious roar suddenly exploded in Feng Ming’s mind:

“Damn it! Where’s my stuff? Where are the rewards? Did you embezzle them? If you don’t give me a reasonable explanation today, I’m not done with you!”

After a long while, the System’s aggrieved voice finally arrived belatedly:

“Ding! The System has not detected proof of the Host’s marriage. Please provide valid credentials to prove that Hua Dieer is the Host’s wife, such as: a wedding banquet, a marriage certificate, or a contract, etc.”

Upon hearing this, Feng Ming instantly bristled, veins throbbing on his forehead: “What nonsense are you spouting?! I worked so hard last night, are you blind? Hua Dieer is already my woman, how dare you say she’s not my wife? I think you just deliberately don’t want to give me the reward!”
