306: Is this inappropriate?

Feng Ming's words were powerful, and as they reached Feng Mian's ears, all the worries in his heart dissipated.

Seeing Feng Ming's confident look, he realized he had underestimated his younger brother after all; his thinking was far more meticulous and far-sighted than he had imagined.

The four elders stood to the side, hearing their conversation clearly. The expressions on their Faces shifted from initial smugness to doubt and surprise, and finally to pure rage.

They hadn't expected Feng Ming to be so arrogant, not only disregarding them but even ignoring the interests of the Jiang Family.

"Good! Well played, Feng Ming!"

The leading elder trembled with rage and shouted sharply, "Since you are so stubborn, don't blame us for being heartless. We're going to the Jiang Family right now to let Senior Jiang judge this matter. We'll see if your complete disregard for rules and reckless behavior should be disciplined!"

"That's right! Today, Senior Jiang must give us an explanation. I want to see if you can still be this arrogant in front of Senior Jiang!"

The four elders were furious, each shouting their rebukes.

Seeing this, the smile on Feng Ming's lips deepened. He tilted his chin toward Feng Da: "Feng Da, escort the four Seniors to the Jiang Family for me. Make sure to deliver them personally; do not be negligent."

Feng Da bowed and replied, "Yes, Young Master."

With that, Feng Da walked to the door and waved his hand. The closed wooden doors swung open at his command as he made a gesture of invitation: "Seniors, please."

Seeing Feng Da's attitude, the four elders grew even angrier, feeling that Feng Ming's actions were a great insult to them.

They snorted coldly, flicked their sleeves, and walked out. They had already decided that once they reached the Jiang Family, they would definitely embellish the story to ensure Jiang Qinghe punished Feng Ming severely.

They were convinced that Jiang Qinghe would never sit idly by while his own interests were damaged; Feng Ming's arrogance would eventually come at a price.

Watching the four of them leave, Feng Mian sighed softly: "Second Brother, I hope your predictions are correct. If Senior Jiang Qinghe really favors the Four Great Families, we're going to be in big trouble."

Feng Ming looked toward the Jiang Family, his gaze deep. He said slowly, "Don't worry, Brother. Jiang Qinghe won't disappoint us. In this game, the only losers will be the Four Great Families."

The sky over Liangzhou City was clear at the moment, but a storm concerning interests and the status quo was already quietly brewing.

The entire Liang Province was quietly watching to see how the dispute over medicinal herbs between the Four Great Families and Feng Ming would end, and what choice Jiang Qinghe would make.

Feng Ming knew in his heart that this move, while seemingly risky, was actually a guaranteed victory.

What he wanted was not just those rank seven and above herbs, but to use this matter to establish a foothold in Liang Province, letting everyone know that the Feng Family had risen and could no longer be bullied.

Feng Da followed behind the four elders, heading all the way to the Jiang Family.

The four elders remained silent throughout the journey, each harboring a fire of resentment, just waiting to vent it once they reached the Jiang Family.

Little did they know that when they told Jiang Qinghe the whole story, what awaited them would be the exact opposite of what they expected.

At the Jiang Family Mansion, Jiang Qinghe was sitting in the courtyard, sipping tea and listening to his subordinates' reports on the Liangzhou Trial.

When he learned that the Four Great Families had arrived in anger and that Feng Ming was involved, a playful smile flashed in his eyes. He said softly, "Let them in."

A conversation that would decide the landscape of medicinal herbs in Liang Province was about to begin at the Jiang Family Mansion, and Feng Ming's fate seemed to be tightly bound to the Jiang Family at this moment.

Yet, everyone knew that Feng Ming had never placed his fate in the hands of others.

On the other side, at the Trial Grounds, Feng Mian was somewhat anxious.

"Second Brother, what exactly are you planning?"

Qin Hu and Guan Rong also had their brows furrowed, clearly unable to grasp Feng Ming's intentions.

Only Jiang Shuwan, who was already accustomed to his style of acting seemingly out of line but actually planning everything out, stood quietly to the side, looking at him with a gentle gaze.

While the others were still thinking it through, Feng Ming spoke up, his tone calm yet leading: "Think about it. What will be the result of them going to the Jiang Family to complain?"

"Does the result even need to be said?" Feng Mian immediately replied. "Even if Old Master Jiang doesn't get truly angry, his impression of you will definitely plummet. All the goodwill you built up at the Jiang Family before will likely be wiped out."

Qin Hu also agreed in a low voice, "With the Four Great Families filing a complaint together, even if Jiang Qinghe considers the Madam's Face, he'll inevitably have a negative opinion of you."

Hearing this, Feng Ming instead chuckled. "None of that matters. The key is, how will Jiang Qinghe handle it once he finds out?"

"Naturally, he'll seek you out to verify the situation," Guan Rong said directly; it was the most obvious outcome.

"Then think again. Why was I so insistent on collecting all the rank seven and above herbs from the Four Great Families, even at the cost of clashing with them?" Feng Ming posed another question.

Feng Mian was stunned at first, then his pupils suddenly constricted. Qin Hu and Guan Rong also realized instantly, their Faces showing expressions of sudden enlightenment.

"That's it!" Feng Mian blurted out. "When Jiang Qinghe asks, you only need to tell him the truth—that Shuwan is pregnant and you're collecting herbs for the child in her womb! That way, not only will he not blame you, but he'll also feel that you're affectionate and truly cherish Shuwan!"

"You're only half right." Feng Ming shook his head with a smile, his gaze sweeping over the group. "If Jiang Qinghe knows Shuwan is pregnant, for the Jiang Family, which is more important: the small herb profits of the Four Great Families, or the child?"

Qin Hu immediately understood: "The child carries the Jiang Family Bloodline. Jiang Qinghe will definitely put the child first. He'll simply ignore the complaints from the Four Great Families."

"More than that," Feng Mian added, his tone filled with wonder. "Jiang Qinghe is the Lord of Liangzhou and the true person in power of the Jiang Family. Knowing Shuwan is pregnant, he won't just sit by. He'll most likely step in personally to buy up the Four Great Families' herbs, and might even take the initiative to collect more to ensure the safety of Shuwan and the child."

Hearing this, Jiang Shuwan finally understood Feng Ming's plan. A hint of bashfulness crossed her Face as she said softly, "Husband, would it be too improper for you to do this?"

"Not long ago, you received his rank seven spirit tree, the seven-ranked plum blossom, and now you're going to make him pay to buy herbs..."

"The rank seven spirit tree, the seven-ranked plum blossom?" Feng Mian was even more shocked. "Second Brother, your moves are simply too grand."

Feng Ming shrugged helplessly, his tone frank: "He already cherishes Shuwan. Now that Shuwan is pregnant, as a grandfather, it's only right for him to do something for his grandchild. Besides, I never forced him. Everything is of his own volition. How is it improper?"

The others looked at each other, all speechless.

What Feng Ming said was true. From beginning to end, he hadn't used the slightest bit of coercion; everything was simply going with the flow.
