19: Skill Upgrade

Mistfall Swamp: Recommended for Level 10 and above teams to explore. Lord: Swamp Croc King. Innate Skills: Savage Tear, Combat Charge.

As a newly opened Secret Realm, after entering it, there were quite a few professionals inside.

Bypassing the gathering place of the professionals, they quickly arrived beside a swamp.

The swamp before them was lush with water plants, and at first glance, it seemed to pose no danger.

But as soon as they stepped into the swamp, a fierce giant crocodile leaped out from within.

"These are Level 10 crocodiles; let's be a little careful."

As he spoke, Xu Xiayang had already waved his hand, and a shield appeared in his grasp.

Facing the pouncing crocodile, Xu Xiayang's eyes narrowed slightly, and he slammed his shield fiercely towards it.

After the massive shield struck the crocodile, a loud crash was heard.

The originally ferocious crocodile was instantly knocked several meters away.

However, Xu Xiayang's Rank was not high to begin with, so this impact did not directly kill the crocodile.

Seeing this, Chu Xiang, who was behind him, leaped forward, and the axe in his hand directly split the crocodile's head.

"Easy."

After killing the crocodile, Chu Xiang clapped his hands and looked at Li Changkong.

He had originally thought that someone of a lifestyle profession, upon seeing his own bravery, would surely be awestruck.

But to his surprise, Li Changkong's expression remained calm, as if nothing had happened.

In Li Changkong's view, their monster-grinding speed was as slow as a crawling turtle.

If he were to summon Black Flame, these Level 10 monsters would probably be incinerated by a single breath of Dragon Flame, hundreds at a time.

Of course, though he thought this in his heart, he did not voice it.

"Kid, learn more. Although you are a lifestyle professional, you'd best pay attention to these life-saving combat techniques."

Chu Xiang looked at Li Changkong and said with disdain.

"Oh."

Li Changkong nodded calmly.

"No skill and still putting on airs!"

When Chu Xiang saw that Li Changkong still looked indifferent, the Qi in his heart immediately flared up.

He muttered softly as he looked at Li Changkong.

"Say less; keep grinding monsters."

Xu Xiayang glared at Chu Xiang, and only then did he quiet down a bit.

"How about I go ahead and scout?"

Feeling quite bored here, Li Changkong pointed to a small path nearby and said.

"But it's quite dangerous ahead. Can you manage alone?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Xiayang asked with some concern.

The small path Li Changkong pointed to was indeed a shortcut according to the map.

However, the Yao Beasts there, both in Rank and number, were significantly more numerous than in the swamp.

"I'm just going to take a look; it's no problem."

Li Changkong smiled calmly.

"Alright then, be careful. Otherwise, it would be difficult for me to explain."

Ultimately, Xu Xiayang nodded and agreed to the matter.

Seeing that the other party had agreed, Li Changkong then walked towards the small path.

After realizing there were no other transmigrators around, Li Changkong finally summoned Black Flame.

As soon as Black Flame was summoned, it whimpered at Li Changkong with clear dissatisfaction.

Evidently, its memory still seemed to be stuck on yesterday.

At that time, Li Changkong, worried about its safety, had recalled it into the alternate world space.

"Don't worry, next time we encounter danger, I absolutely won't do that."

Looking at the displeased Black Flame, Li Changkong could only coax it softly.

After hearing this, Black Flame nodded with satisfaction, as if saying it had forgiven Li Changkong.

Just as Li Changkong had predicted, there were indeed many more monsters on this small path.

But in Li Changkong's eyes, these monsters were still not enough to fill a gap between his teeth.

With almost no hindrance, he arrived beside a large lake.

The entire swamp originated from this lake, and if Li Changkong guessed correctly, this should be where the boss resided.

However, Li Changkong was not in a hurry to deal with the boss; instead, he looked at Black Flame beside him and activated Experience Transfer.

"Transfer target detected: Black Flame."

"Please select the amount of experience to allocate."

"Experience Transfer: 50 points."

Li Changkong activated Experience Transfer again, but this time the experience he transferred was skill experience.

Originally, he had only intended to try it out, but the final result surprised him somewhat.

[Experience Transfer Thousandfold Return has been triggered, gaining 50,000 experience points.]

Just as Li Changkong had guessed, the result this time was indeed another success.

"Water Prison Technique Rank increased to LV2."

"Water Prison Technique Rank increased to LV3."

...

"Water Prison Technique increased to LV10, evolving into Weak Water Art."

According to the knowledge Li Changkong had previously learned, skills generally evolve into higher-level skills after reaching LV10.

However, the experience required for this was immense.

Using a skill once only increased skill experience by one.

And these fifty thousand experience points meant that Water Prison Technique would have to be used fifty thousand times to evolve.

After the Water Prison Technique completed its evolution, Li Changkong immediately checked the effects of the Weak Water Art.

Weak Water Art was indeed an advanced version of Water Prison Technique.

Water Prison Technique merely bound the opponent in place, and the duration of the binding was also relatively short.

But Weak Water Art imprisoned the opponent, and it also contained skills like blindness, Silence, and so on.

What surprised Li Changkong the most was that it was actually an area-of-effect skill!

If this was an area-of-effect skill, it could significantly increase his monster-grinding speed.

Just as Li Changkong had explored enough, he followed the path back to the team.

Seeing Li Changkong return safely, Xu Xiayang finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"I didn't expect your luck to be so good; I thought you'd died somewhere."

Chu Xiang's attitude remained unchanged, his words still carrying a sting.

After more than ten minutes of effort, they finally reached the lake Li Changkong had visited earlier.

"I wonder if we're lucky, but it seems there are far fewer monsters in the latter half of the journey."

Xu Xiayang said with curiosity after arriving beside the lake.

Li Changkong had cleared out many monsters on his way back earlier.

Because of this, the team's journey had been quite smooth when they came.

"It looks like no other team has been to this place; we might actually be able to achieve the first clear."

Chu Xiang's eyes lit up, and he then began to give orders: "The Boss should be in this lake. Li Changkong, go check the situation around the lake."

"Are you trying to send him to his death?"

Xu Xiayang frowned and said coldly.

"Brother Yang, aren't I doing this for the good of our team?"

"This person hasn't contributed much along the way; it's fine for him to attract some monsters at the end, right?"

Chu Xiang, however, was quite insistent this time and retorted.
