75: Boss internal fighting

"What is this?" Li Changkong wondered, muttering to himself before moving closer.

The howling sound came from the distant marshy valley.

Li Changkong cautiously approached and soon arrived at the source of the roar.

Before he even reached the low valley of the marsh, he saw plumes of dust rising from the distant swamp.

Two giant beasts were entangled in a fierce battle, neither willing to yield.

The giant beast closer to Li Changkong was a Crocodile man wielding a massive axe.

This Crocodile man glowed red all over, his eyes filled with ferocity.

Opposite the Crocodile man was a Fire Lion, completely engulfed in flames.

From the Lion's appearance, it was evident that he likely did not belong to this territory.

Next to this marsh was a Fire Dragon Valley.

If Li Changkong's guess was correct, this Lion was probably the boss of the Fire Dragon Valley.

At this moment, the Fire Lion was covered in wounds, and much of his fur had even fallen off.

But even so, the Fire Lion showed no sign of retreating.

Surrounding him were also many elite Crocodile man generals.

Li Changkong suddenly realized why he hadn't encountered any elite monsters on his way, only common ones.

It turned out all the elite monsters had gathered in this place.

The territorial instincts of these bosses were inherently very strong.

For these bosses, their own territory never tolerated invasion from other bosses.

Therefore, these monsters were not a unified force; they were, in fact, quite scattered.

Both bosses had reached Rank 30, and they were both purple-Rank 30 bosses.

Even in the middle of the forest, they were extremely rare existences.

Li Changkong, who had initially wondered if these two bosses had suddenly contracted rabies, now noticed two corpses behind the Crocodile man.

These two corpses were also fiery red, as if an undying flame was flickering around them.

Although the two corpses were not clearly visible, Li Changkong already understood that these seemed to be the Fire Lion boss's cubs.

From this, it could be deduced that the Crocodile man had likely deliberately killed the Fire Lion boss's cubs.

This way, the Fire Lion boss, in his rage, would charge into his territory.

And the Crocodile man had already set up a trap here, just waiting for him to walk into it.

After understanding this, Li Changkong was somewhat incredulous.

He knew that as monsters reached higher Ranks, their intelligence would also increase.

But he hadn't expected them to even use military strategies; this was simply unbelievable.

Although they were already in a critical battle, Li Changkong did not immediately step forward; he continued to observe their fight from a distance.

Opportunities like watching a spectacle were truly rare.

After a brief respite, the Crocodile men once again launched an attack on the Fire Lion.

After a burst of flames, several elite Crocodile men instantly fell to the ground.

The Crocodile man then raised his great axe and swung it towards the Fire Lion's head.

Just as the great axe was about to fall, a Fire Dragon spewed towards them.

Li Changkong chose to act not to help the Fire Lion.

Rather, it was because if the Fire Lion died, the sheer number of Crocodile men and elites would be too much for him to handle.

If he remained alive, he could somewhat tie down the opponent through battle.

He was merely hoping to maintain the balance of the situation, with the intention of using one powerful force to subdue another.

Li Changkong's attack was too fast; the Crocodile man didn't even react before it heavily struck him.

He felt a massive force, and the great axe he had raised now lay on the ground.

At this moment, Li Changkong did not hesitate, rushing straight into the battle with his two pets.

The Fire Lion, who had already been somewhat despairing, showed a glimmer of hope upon seeing this situation.

Although this person was a human, an enemy's enemy was a friend.

With Li Changkong dealing with the elite monsters, he had time to focus on fighting the Crocodile King first.

Although the strength of these elite monsters was considerable, Li Changkong didn't find them too troublesome to deal with.

Moreover, his two high-health pets could protect him from harm.

And he could completely hide behind his two pets, continuously unleashing skills.

A few minutes later, the more than twenty elite monsters present had all met their demise.

After dealing with these matters, Li Changkong finally turned his gaze to the leading boss.

The Crocodile King still held the advantage, but seeing that the surrounding elite monsters had been killed, he began to feel uneasy.

After cleaving the Fire Lion with an axe, the Crocodile King flashed, preparing to burrow into the mud.

Just as he was about to escape, the mud on the ground turned into a hard stone.

"This Petrification skill actually has such a use."

Li Changkong was quite pleased at this moment.

Petrification was also an Elementary skill, capable of petrifying the opponent for a short period.

This skill was actually somewhat useless.

After petrifying the opponent, the opponent also could not take damage for a period of time.

This meant that Petrification was only a skill to avoid fatal attacks.

Moreover, the petrification duration of the Petrification skill was very short; even at max Rank, it could only petrify a boss for about three seconds.

Just as he saw the Crocodile King about to escape, Li Changkong used the Petrification skill.

He hadn't expected the effect to be so good, preventing the opponent's escape.

And the Fire Lion behind him, seeing this opportunity, immediately ran up and bit his tail.

With a powerfulThrow from the Fire Lion, the Crocodile King was directly flung onto the ground nearby.

Seeing that the opponent had been controlled, Li Changkong's skills were like a rapid-fire barrage, showering down upon him.

Although the Crocodile King was still struggling, it was clear that his struggles were already becoming futile.

Accompanied by a desperate roar, the Crocodile King's body heavily collapsed onto the ground.

And on his body, two pieces of equipment appeared.

"Congratulations! You have defeated the purple boss Crocodile King and gained 30,000 experience points."

"Obtained purple equipment: Water Drop Bow."

"Obtained purple equipment: Water King Bracers."

As sounds echoed in his ears, Li Changkong finally let out a long sigh of relief.

A Rank 30 purple boss was actually not too difficult for him to handle.

Even without the Fire Lion's help, he would have been able to crack this tough nut.

Li Changkong did not immediately check the attributes of the two pieces of equipment; he first put them away.

Then, he turned his gaze to the Fire Lion.
