Chapter 250 Encountering Other Fleets
The two halves of the corpse crashed into the seawater with a boom, splashing up a massive white curtain of water!
Amidst the churning waves and the dark halo of blood,
a cold-white bone spur, about ten centimeters long, emerged from the severed section of the corpse!
"A tide needle!!!"
Han Cheng's eyes lit up, and he called out without looking back, "He Yu!"
In the back row of the cabin,
the elder twin brother didn't speak; he simply raised his right hand, fingers slightly splayed.
The next second, an invisible current of air exploded beneath Han Cheng's feet.
"Bang!"
Han Cheng instantly charged out, stepping onto invisible air steps without even glancing down.
He snatched the cold-white bone spur floating in the bloody water.
The moment the needle left the sea surface, its white light brightened significantly.
Han Cheng casually tucked it into a pocket at his waist and landed steadily back on the deck.
He Yu also withdrew his hand; the air current lost its sustaining force and dissipated silently in mid-air.
"He Yu is an A-rank support-type Talent user. His ability is Gas Shaping, which allows him to compress air to create temporary solid structures for paving paths, lifting, or cushioning."
Song Xingmian, sitting to the side, explained to Chen Yu.
After listening, Chen Yu was slightly taken aback. "Why are you telling me this?"
Song Xingmian spoke calmly, "Just reminding you about your teammates' Talents. Isn't that appropriate?"
Chen Yu nodded.
Song Xingmian continued, "The twins, He Yu and He Xun, are both Han Cheng's confidants. The three of them coordinate with extreme synergy, making Han Cheng even more formidable."
Chen Yu smiled. "Do you think he's a powerful love rival of mine?"
Song Xingmian: "?"
She took a deep breath and uttered four words: "...Utterly incorrigible."
Just then, everyone on the boat was staring at Han Cheng.
This was because some changes had appeared on him.
Although he had already pocketed the tide needle, a very faint cold-white halo still emanated from the edges of Han Cheng's silhouette, from his shoulders to his waist.
It was as if he had a luminous pearl in his pocket that wouldn't go out, its light conducting through his entire body.
The light wasn't blinding, but under the gloomy sky, it was hard for anyone not to focus on Han Cheng; he even slightly illuminated the entire boat.
Ding Shouchang frowned slightly. "Captain Han, you're glowing all over now. If it were night, you could probably be seen from a very long distance away."
Han Cheng looked down and patted his pocket indifferently. "Hmph, let it glow then. I'm afraid of not having enough needles, not the light being too bright."
He Yu said with a smile, "Captain Han's decisiveness is still the best. No one else could have easily dealt with a sea beast that large. With Captain Han here, we definitely won't lack needles."
Chen Muqing added calmly, "But this area of the sea seems too quiet. From departure until now, we've only encountered this one sea beast."
He paused. "We haven't even encountered any other fleets..."
Ding Shouchang nodded in agreement and said in a low voice, "We probably started late. It's all Lu Heng's fault!"
Chen Yu: "?"
Han Cheng laughed nonchalantly. "Don't worry. Ultimately, this mission depends on the struggle between people. The closer we get to the lighthouse, the more intense that struggle will become."
He sat back down and gripped the oar handle. "Keep rowing! Everyone, speed up for your captain!"
"Uh..."
Ding Shouchang quickly sat properly. "No problem, Captain Han!"
And so, the entire boat set sail again, but this time, in less than an hour...
everyone saw... the wreckage of a ship?!
Planks, broken Glass, and torn canvas fragments floated in and out of sight amidst the swells, scattered across a nearly hundred-meter-wide stretch of sea.
The hull hadn't completely sunk; a section of the upturned bow could still be seen among the wreckage.
"Was it destroyed by a sea beast?"
"This is too tragic..."
"Everyone on the ship is probably dead!"
The members of the Haicheng team lamented for a few moments.
"It wasn't a sea beast."
Chen Muqing interrupted them. "The edges of that gash weren't caused by bite marks or an impact. It's similar to a dart or a hidden weapon... cutting horizontally from the outside of the hull..."
The boat fell silent for a moment.
Ding Shouchang narrowed his eyes. "In other words, someone has already attacked other ships this soon?"
Chen Muqing nodded. "Judging by my Talent map, the team that attacked isn't far from us. They should be less than two kilometers west of our course."
Everyone instinctively looked up and scanned the surroundings.
On the iron-gray sea, the mist hung low, and no silhouettes of ships were visible.
Light points were another form of signal.
Chen Muqing raised his hand and pointed toward the nearest light point. "That direction."
Han Cheng looked in the direction he pointed, his excitement unconcealed.
"Quick, head over there!"
Ding Shouchang hesitated. "Captain Han, we don't know the specific strength of that team yet. If we approach rashly and they..."
"And if what?"
Han Cheng interrupted him, his tone contemptuous. "And if you're a coward?! This is a global mission; if anyone cowers, they're shaming Huaxia!"
"If we miss the opportunity and they escape, will you compensate for the needles?"
Ding Shouchang didn't dare to talk back and could only nod repeatedly.
Chen Yu and Song Xingmian had been watching quietly from start to finish.
Since they didn't have to row, they didn't care how much the others fussed.
The boat gave chase for an unknown amount of time...
The light point on the sea ahead grew closer, brighter, and more chaotic.
"BOOM—!!!"
"Rumble~~~~~"
"Fire! Cover me!!"
"Damn it, they’re flanking—"
The massive sounds of battle mingled with the clashing of iron!
Curiously, however...
Chen Yu's English proficiency was very limited, yet he could deeply understand the word combinations he had just heard!
Song Xingmian explained, "According to the records of the first Global Slaughterhouse, in international missions, all languages heard by participants are automatically translated by the world's rules."
"So it can even do that..."
Chen Yu narrowed his eyes. These damn world rules were truly impressive.
But even with world rules this powerful, Alice was able to trap him for a full three minutes?
Song Xingmian shook her head, seeing his shocked expression.
"Rumble!!!"
"Get the binoculars out and stop our advance!"
"Let's observe for a bit!"
Everyone quickly pulled out their binoculars to watch the commotion nearby!
A white wave exploded on the sea surface, and a figure walked upon the waves. The man was bare-chested, his thick beard damp with seawater, and he held a massive war hammer in his right hand!
"Zzzt zzzt zzzt!"
The hammerhead was octagonal, its surface wrapped in blue-white electric arcs. Every swing left a brief trail of current in the air!
"Pfft pfft pfft pfft!"
As his soles stepped onto the sea surface, the powerful electromagnetic field instantly electrolyzed the seawater beneath his feet into white mist; every step he took was on that mist!
A mutated sea scorpion attempting a sneak attack from the side had just emerged from the water. Without even turning his head, he swung his hammer back and down; the moment the hammerhead made contact with the scorpion's shell, the sea scorpion died instantly!
