Chapter 315 Did you see me?

"That ghost... where did it run off to?"

Zhao Tieshan's expression was grim as he scanned his surroundings; aside from a locked double door, there was no other path.

The group was also a bit bewildered. The white-skirted figure had just darted in the direction of this door, but if it was locked, how did she get through? Did she walk through walls?

"Move aside..."

Chen Yu signaled everyone to step back, then took a few running steps and kicked the double door!

"Boom!!!"

After a massive crash, the lock snapped, and the door frame cracked!

The two door panels swung inward violently, hit the wall, bounced back, and hit it again!

"Cough, cough, cough, cough!"

Dust fell in flurries from above the door frame, choking everyone into a coughing fit.

Seeing this method of clearing a level for the first time, Flyer, Lin Yuan, Zhao Tieshan, and the others were a bit stunned, whereas Wang Mengmeng and the others remained relatively calm.

"That actually works..."

"This isn't puzzle-solving, this is puzzle-demolishing..."

"Nothing wrong with that; if you tear up the question, there is no question."

Behind the door was another room.

The beam of the flashlight probed inside, illuminating a row of Glass cabinets, which were densely packed with toy dolls.

An entire wall of Glass cabinets, from floor to ceiling, layer upon layer, with the dolls' faces turned toward them—and they were those big-eyed dolls common in horror movies...

"Damn it, this is too creepy..."

Zhao Tieshan, standing at one meter eighty, was hugging his shoulders, looking around nervously.

Flyer and Lin Yuan were behind him, muttering to themselves, though it was unclear what they were saying.

Chen Yu narrowed his eyes, scanning row after row...

Suddenly, it felt as if someone had blown a breath behind his ear.

"Brother Chen Yu, what do we do?"

Chen Yu's pupils constricted. He swung his blade instantly, slashing horizontally from right to left, cutting into the air behind him!

But there was nothing behind him!

Seeing Chen Yu's actions, the group could roughly guess what had happened...

Flyer asked in a low voice: "Did someone call you?"

Chen Yu nodded.

Flyer swallowed hard and started rambling again: "I have good luck, my spirit is full..."

"Eeya, eeya, eeya~~"

A burst of low-quality children's toy music began to play.

It was a doll on the fourth row that suddenly lit up with a pink glow, seeping out from the collar, cuffs, and hem of her dress, making her entire face flicker in the light.

"Holy crap!"

Flyer, who was closest, nearly dropped his flashlight, catching it in a panic.

Wang Mengmeng shrank entirely behind Chen Yu, and Yang Kexin did the same.

Chen Yu tilted his chin: "Bring it here."

Flyer's face turned pale: "Me?"

Chen Yu nodded: "Could it be me?"

Flyer swallowed hard, switched the flashlight from his left hand to his right, took a deep breath, and began to chant:

"My hands won't shake, I won't gasp for air, I'll just treat holding this doll like holding a bowl... Yes, right, I'll treat it like a bowl..."

He walked to the cabinet, reached out to pull open the Glass door, took the doll out, and cradled it in his palm.

The light was still on, and the sound was still playing, eeya, eeya.

He held the doll up to his ear and shook it, moving it a little; the head was fixed and couldn't be twisted, though he could bend its arms, but there was nothing unusual about it.

Flyer frowned. "There's nothing here; it's just a normal doll."

Chen Yu looked at Zuo Shi: "Investigate this cabinet."

Zuo Shi nodded, walked to the cabinet, pressed her palm against the inside of the Glass door, and closed her eyes.

On the other side, Flyer was still studying the doll in his hand, looking it over repeatedly, and even lifted its dress to take a look, earning a glare from Wang Mengmeng nearby.

"Hey, I was just trying to find where the batteries go!"

Flyer explained, utterly baffled—how could it light up without batteries?

Just then, a childish voice came from beside Flyer's leg.

"Why are you taking my toy?"

Flyer moved the toy away, and a Little Boy was standing by his leg, looking about seven or eight years old, wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt and dark blue shorts, his face deathly pale.

And on such a pale face, he had a pair of pitch-black eyes with no whites at all.

Flyer's expression changed in terror; his mental inventory of rhymes was instantly wiped clean, and he couldn't spit out a single word.

The boy reached out, snatched the doll, hugged it to his chest, and turned to run.

His shoes tapped on the floor, tap, tap, tap, tap...

"Bang!"

Chen Yu chased after him immediately; in the blink of an eye, his figure was already several meters away.

However, the Little Boy only looked like he was running slowly; in reality, his speed was bizarrely fast, managing to put distance between them in the room as he ran out the door.

"Keep up!"

Yang Kexin pulled Wang Mengmeng along, and Flyer, Lin Yuan, Zhao Tieshan, and the others quickly gave chase.

Everyone was running, their flashlights swinging wildly.

"Toy cabinet set, model Blythe, pressed from the same mold. There is a foreign object inside the doll, gray-white short hair, about two to three centimeters long, hair follicles intact, cut from a living body."

But at the same time, Zuo Shi was reciting her Talent.

When she opened her eyes, she discovered the room was already empty.

Her flashlight beam was still shining on the ceiling, but a chill had already shot from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.

"Zuo Shi, how do you know it was cut from a living body?"

Zuo Shi swallowed hard. The voice came from right behind her, and the hot breath of the speaker sprayed against the back of her neck.

But that wasn't enough.

What truly made her blood run cold was that, through the reflection in the Glass of the cabinet door, Zuo Shi saw her own face—her chin was sharp, but her expression was ghastly.

On the ceiling behind her, a white shadow was hanging upside down, its four limbs clinging to the ceiling, its sparse hair hanging down, very, very long, because the ceiling of this room was less than three meters high...

It was almost touching Zuo Shi's shoulders.

Its face was turned downward, facing the back of Zuo Shi's neck, its eyeballs twitching irregularly, a smile stretched to its earlobes, revealing sharp, dense teeth.

"Zuo Shi, how do you know it was cut from a living body?"

"Zuo Shi, you are so smart."

"Zuo Shi, did you... see me?"

On the other side, Chen Yu was chasing the Little Boy, sweeping through the corridor!

The Little Boy dove headlong into an iron door!

Chen Yu kicked off the ground, kicked the door open, and rushed inside!

A few seconds later, Wang Mengmeng and Yang Kexin followed him in, bracing their knees, panting heavily!

Their faces were pale, and their legs were weak!

If they hadn't been clinging to Chen Yu the whole time, they probably wouldn't have been able to keep up this distance at all!

Behind them, Lin Yuan was following closely, but hadn't rushed in yet...

"Bang!"

The door was slammed shut by a gust of wind!

Lin Yuan slapped his hand against the door panel, but no matter what he did, he couldn't open it again; it was as if it had been welded shut!

Lin Yuan gritted his teeth: "What's going on? Why won't it let me in?"

Hoodie Guy rushed over. "It won't let you in?"

Lin Yuan shook his head: "Yeah, a gust of wind from nowhere slammed the door shut instantly. My luck didn't work either; I was just a tiny bit away from catching up to Brother Yu..."

Hoodie Guy paused. "You mean, you almost got in?"

Lin Yuan nodded.

Hoodie Guy was silent for a long moment before speaking slowly: "Is it possible that your luck actually played a role?"

"Clatter, clatter, clatter!"

The main group had also caught up.

Lin Yuan explained simply: "Brother Yu and those two girls went in, but I didn't make it..."

"Wait! Two girls?"

Flyer noticed the detail.

Lin Yuan nodded: "Yeah, one baby-faced, one with long legs, and also... and also..."

Everyone's expression changed: "Oh no!"
