174: Hot peppers

After dispelling the doubts in his mind, Fang Yun dismissed the idea of flipping the noodle shop over and honestly walked to a four-person table to sit down.

The boss glanced at them and put the gun back under the counter:

"The menu is on the wall. Pay first, then eat. Gold members get a 0.1% discount on the first dish."

Fang Yun scanned the holographic menu on the wall, then looked at Valentine and Toke:

"So, you all have Gold membership?"

"Yes."

"Mmm-hmm."

"Then do you have any dishes you'd recommend?"

Valentine reached out and signaled to the boss:

"Boss, give us three servings of Special Supply Synthetic Meat Mixed Noodles, with extra spice. The money has already been transferred."

After ordering, Valentine sat up straight again and said to Fang Yun:

"Special Supply Synthetic Meat Mixed Noodles, Fiery Hot style, that's what I recommend to you."

"Very delicious?"

"Very delicious."

As Valentine spoke, Toke nodded along with him.

"Ho ho, then I'll have to see just how delicious it is."

Fang Yun and the other two each grabbed some small side dishes filled with technology and 'fierce ingredients', sat down on chairs, and ate while waiting for the mixed noodles.

Not long after, the boss lifted the kitchen curtain and walked over with three steaming bowls of mixed noodles.

Speaking of a kitchen curtain, it was actually just a decorative partition.

After all, the Nuclear Noodle Shop was a small place with no dedicated kitchen. The so-called kitchen was just a small area enclosed by the counter, containing a stove and some utensils.

"Special Supply Synthetic Meat Mixed Noodles, Fiery Hot Chili style, please enjoy."

The boss placed the three steaming hot bowls of mixed noodles on the table, the bottoms of the bowls clanging against the metal surface.

Let's take a look at these three bowls of mixed noodles.

The noodle soup base was bright red, thick and rich, with a pungent spicy aroma.

The noodles in the soup displayed a peculiar fluorescent orange-red color, likely soaked in some chemical substance, with an oily sheen on the surface, each strand coated in deep red chili sauce.

In the center of the noodles were two pieces of synthetic meat cut into irregular strips, a 'very fiery' deep red color. Their texture mimicked real pork, but compared to real pork, they appeared a bit too perfect, which felt unnatural.

The meat pieces were also covered with a layer of translucent gel-like substance, slightly reflecting light under the shop's lamps.

Because Valentine had ordered an extra serving of char siu, his bowl of mixed noodles had three extra large pieces of synthetic meat compared to Fang Yun and Toke.

Next, focus on the words "Fiery Hot Chili style."

The chili flakes floating on the top layer of the noodle soup were quite eye-catching.

They weren't ordinary dried chilies, but genetically modified "Nether Fire Peppers," their overall color a bright, almost glowing red, with hints of blue-purple showing at the edges.

Among the bright red chili flakes were a few clusters of white substance floating on the noodle soup.

Based on his conversation with Valentine earlier, Fang Yun guessed it was the so-called special compound that could "enhance taste transmission."

Valentine said this stuff could increase the perceived spiciness by 300%.

To this, Fang Yun could only give a thumbs-up, indicating that Valentine was truly fearless of spice.

"He'll be quiet once he's stuck in the bathroom for half the day."

The entire bowl of mixed noodles emitted a slightly pungent, spicy smell.

This spicy smell mixed with the aroma of synthetic meat and a hint of an industrial solvent smell, rising with the heat, twisting and deforming in the air, making it obvious at a glance that "this stuff is very spicy."

Fang Yun stared at the bowl of mixed noodles in front of him, his mouth twitching:

"Is this stuff meant for people to eat? I bet you have to sign a waiver before eating it, and then go straight to the bathroom afterwards."

Valentine picked up his chopsticks and grinned:

"What are you afraid of? Even if you're spiced to death, you'll die a full ghost."

In the cylindrical container furthest inside the dining table, there were common utensils like chopsticks, knives, forks, and spoons.

In addition, several stirring sticks were inserted into the utensil holder, with the words "Spiciness Neutralizing Solid Gel Stick" written on them.

The stirring sticks had labels that read: If you cannot bear the spiciness of the mixed noodles, please use this "Spiciness Relief Stick" in time. (It's not bad to admit your weakness.)

Fang Yun glanced at the "Spiciness Relief Stick," and the worry in his heart lessened considerably.
