4: Unlimited Water

Time: October 6, 2074. Location: Night City, Badlands.

After several hours of scavenging, Fang Yun finally converted all the materials included in the collection plan within this abandoned small town into blocks as the sun began to set.

However, Fang Yun's backpack was only so big, and even though it was full, there were still many materials that couldn't fit. So, Fang Yun had a flash of inspiration and synthesized some chest minecarts, putting all the remaining materials into them.

Then, Fang Yun tried it out. Using the collision boxes of the chest minecarts, he could push a line of chest minecarts forward by squeezing them one by one from behind.

"This should work. When leaving this small town, as long as I choose the right direction, I can just push the line of chest minecarts and head out."

Fang Yun glanced regretfully at the remaining scraps of materials.

"These scraps can't be converted because they don't meet the required standards, which is a bit of a shame."

"But the blocks I've already converted are enough for me to use for a long time. I'll just leave these scraps here."

Fang Yun checked his backpack.

The blocks in Fang Yun's backpack were mainly raw materials: iron, leather, wool, string, wood, and water source blocks.

As for the hotbar, it contained the sword and tools he had synthesized earlier, as well as some bread converted from food like the withered hamburgers he had accidentally found.

"Alright, now I'll make a shield and equip it in the off-hand."

Fang Yun first turned the wood into planks, then used the planks to synthesize a crafting table. Next, he placed the crafting table and synthesized the shield he had planned to make on it.

"Then, synthesize a bed. With a bed, I can set a respawn point."

Speaking of respawn points, Fang Yun suddenly remembered something and immediately asked the System:

"Tong Zi, can I still use the command to set a respawn point now?"

"Ding! Answering Host, of course. After death, the Host will exist in the form of a consciousness body. At this time, under the protection of the System, the Host can observe the world from a ghost-like perspective, but can only observe the world and cannot exert other interference on the world."

"Whether in a living state or a consciousness body state, the Host can use the command to set a respawn point."

"However, please note, according to the Host's current permission level, only a part of the commands can be used, not all commands. At the same time, the Host can currently only use commands, not create commands."

"For details on the Host's current permission level, how to increase the permission level, and other related information, please refer to the <Permission and Restriction Guidelines> and other entries."

"For the commands that the Host can currently use, please refer to the <Complete List of Currently Usable Commands>."

Fang Yun quickly read through the <Complete List of Currently Usable Commands>.

Although Fang Yun hadn't held much hope after hearing the System's words, in the end, he still regretfully found that he couldn't use the mode switching command right now.

In other words, the idea of using a command to open creative mode and just fly is temporarily out of the question.

As for the entries related to permissions, such as the <Permission and Restriction Guidelines>, because the content was too much, Fang Yun chose to read them later when needed. For example, when he urgently needed to increase his permission level.

"Since I can use the respawn point setting command, the main function of the bed becomes providing good sleep. After all, everyone who has used an MC bed says it's good; its main feature is curing various types of insomnia and restless sleep, guaranteeing excellent sleep quality."

After putting the bed in his backpack, Fang Yun re-planned his next actions.

"I'll make infinite water when I find a suitable place to build a home. For now, I'll look for bushes and dead grass to get some saplings and wheat seeds, completing the last piece of the puzzle for the essential items needed for building a home."

"OK, it's time to leave this beginner town. Saplings and wheat seeds, here I come!"

Time: October 6, 2074. Location: Night City, Badlands.

After more than half an hour of long-distance travel, Fang Yun finally pushed the line of chest minecarts out of that godforsaken place and successfully saw the bushes and dead grass he had been longing for.

"Finally left that godforsaken place. Now I understand why the small town I landed in when I transmigrated was abandoned."

"Within a large area around the small town, you can't see any water or plants. If people could still live there, it would be a ghost town."

Fang Yun complained a few times, venting his frustration, then took a deep breath and calmed himself down.

"Phew~. Now I've left that ghost place. Next, it's time to get down to business."

After parking the line of chest minecarts, Fang Yun walked up to a bush, took out his axe, and with a few chops, cut down the entire bush.

Perhaps that's not quite accurate, because the entire plant disappeared into thin air, rather than falling to the ground.

Looking at the empty slot he had cleared in his backpack beforehand, Fang Yun found a lush green sapling, quietly lying in the first slot.

"It wasn't easy. After walking for so long, I finally got a sapling."

After saying that, Fang Yun also used his hand to quickly break all the surrounding dead grass, successfully obtaining a few wheat seeds.

Looking up at the bushes and dead grass in front of him, Fang Yun, like a human plow, began to clear the bushes and weeds on the ground. During the clearing process, he occasionally encountered some cacti.

After successfully clearing a large open area, Fang Yun finally stopped.

Counting his harvest, Fang Yun found that he had obtained a total of 2 stacks of saplings, 3 and a half stacks of wheat seeds, plus some wood, sticks, apples, and cacti.

"Hmm... Although it's a bit unreasonable for bushes to drop apples, this is very MC."

"These saplings and wheat seeds should be enough. Next, I need to find a suitable place to build a home."

Fang Yun used some sand blocks he had conveniently dug up while looking for bushes to build himself up high, then looked into the distance.

After looking around in various directions for a while, Fang Yun retrieved the sand he had used to stand on, then aligned the line of chest minecarts in the correct direction, and continued heading east.

"According to my observation just now, there are some things similar to the large rocks in the 2077 game to the east. And it seems there are no human settlements near the rocks."

"I'll go take a look first. If it's suitable for building a home, I won't go any further and will build a home there directly."

After traveling for nearly ten more minutes, Fang Yun successfully arrived next to the rocks he had seen earlier.

As he got closer to the rocks, Fang Yun had already carefully observed the surroundings in advance.

This was a group of rocks, with huge stones breaking through the sand and exposed on the surface. No traces of human activity were found around or on the stones. This was clearly a location where a home could be built.

"Very good, this place is quite suitable and can be used as a digging location for building a home. Let's start digging."

Fang Yun gave himself a pep talk, then started digging a small path inward from the bottom of the nearest huge rock, and then began to widen the space downwards.

Soon after, the rudimentary form of a Shelter appeared. Although it was called a Shelter, it was actually the classic dirt hut-style home that Fang Yun often built in MC, and it was also an underground version.

"Alright, the rudimentary form of the Shelter has been dug out, and the charcoal in the furnace has finished burning. I can put up torches and start refining it."

Fang Yun synthesized a batch of torches using charcoal, then placed them throughout the Shelter in a way that the minimum light level wouldn't be less than 8, illuminating the interior of the Shelter brightly.

Next, Fang Yun pushed all the chest minecarts into the Shelter, then turned around and temporarily blocked the hole he had just dug in the outermost layer of the rock, in case someone came here and found the hole.

Returning to the Shelter, Fang Yun simply arranged the chest minecarts neatly.

"Next, I'll reinforce the outer walls of the Shelter with the synthesized sandstone, or widen and then reinforce them. Then I'll make infinite water, a farm, and a tree farm."

"Fortunately, I can dig up some dirt and gravel deep underground, otherwise I wouldn't be able to plant wheat seeds and saplings."

After being busy for a long time, Fang Yun finally finished building the infinite water, the farm, and the tree farm.

"Although they are the simplest single-layer, purely manual harvesting farm and tree farm, I'll make do with them for now."

Fang Yun comforted himself, "Semi-automatic or even fully automatic farms and tree farms will come later."

Then, Fang Yun cupped some water from the infinite water pool with his hands and drank it.

"Although a digitized body doesn't need to drink water, in this arid environment with sand and dust everywhere, only drinking water heartily can remove the dryness in my mouth and the stuffiness in my heart."

After drinking a lot of water, Fang Yun let out a long sigh of relief, feeling much refreshed.

"Synthesize some chests to store the things on me and the sand and stone I dug up. Also, transfer the materials from the chest minecarts into the chests."

Fang Yun said this while synthesizing some chests. Then, he stored all the things on him and the sand and stone blocks on the ground.

Next, Fang Yun transferred the materials in the chest minecarts, as well as the chest minecarts themselves, into the chests.

"Alright, now let's think about what to do next."
