"In order for the Host to complete the Wonder Quest more easily, the System will 'provide special support to the Host.'"
"<Mod: Teleportation Gate 1.0 (Easy Edition 1.0: Player Head Specialization Edition 1.0)>, has been temporarily loaded."
"<Mod: Auto Item Collector 1.0 (Easy Edition 1.0)>, has been temporarily loaded."

"If the Host can successfully build the Wonder and complete the Wonder Quest, the above Mods and crafting recipes will become owned Mods and will be loaded by default in a permanently loaded state."
"If the Host's construction is interrupted for more than 24 hours during the construction of the Wonder, leading to the failure of the Wonder Quest, the above Mods and crafting recipes will be recollected into the System Mall."
"Does the Host accept <Wonder Quest: Journey to the Mantle>?"
Fang Yun, who had just dug one block, hadn't even figured out what was going on when the System's notification sound suddenly rang out in his consciousness.
As soon as Fang Yun saw that Tong Zi had provided him with assistance, his face lit up with joy.
"As expected of you, Tong Zi. When there are benefits, you really give them."
"I was worried about how to get System Points if I didn't trigger any quests. Now it's great, I have a quest, I have System Points, and I have Plugins and Mods too."
"Ding! Thank you for the Host's praise."
After praising the System, Fang Yun quickly accepted the quest.
"Accept the quest. Of course I'll accept the quest."
"This is the first quest I've triggered, so I have to accept it no matter what. Although it might be a bit difficult to complete, I've decided that no matter what difficulties I face, I will complete this quest properly."
Based on the Mods supported by the System, Fang Yun optimized his plan. Then, according to the needs of the optimized plan, he crafted some items from the Mods.
"There's no need to make too many changes to the things I originally planned to bring, mainly replacing some stone pickaxes with more useful items."
As Fang Yun spoke, he replaced the stone pickaxes in his backpack with the crafted Mod items.
"Bring a teleportation gate key and a teleportation gate to reduce the travel time between the Shelter and the excavation site."
(ps: Teleportation gate key crafting recipe: stone, stone, stone; stone, player head, stone; stone, stone, stone.)
(ps: Teleportation gate crafting recipe: empty, empty, empty; empty, player head, empty; empty, stone, empty.)
(ps: In the current version, a stone block refers to a stone material block. Conversion or mining will default to dropping a stone block. A stone block has a default standard value in terms of color, texture, density, hardness, and other properties. A stone block can be freely converted between itself and any recorded non-special specific stone block. After a stone block is converted into a specific stone block, it will undergo specific changes in properties such as color, texture, density, and hardness.)
(ps: wood blocks and other blocks similar to stone blocks can be analyzed by referring to the analysis of stone blocks above.)
"Oh, right. I need to place a teleportation gate in the Shelter first. Otherwise, when I place a teleportation gate while digging later and find that there are no other teleportation gate locations to choose from, I'll look like a clown."
Fang Yun slapped his head, thinking to himself that he almost forgot to place a teleportation gate in the Shelter as well. It would be terrible if he really forgot, so Fang Yun decided to place one now.
Choosing a suitable location, Fang Yun placed a teleportation gate.
The teleportation gate block was just a player head placed on a stone base, less than one block in length, width, and height, making it a very small block.
As for how Fang Yun obtained the player head... don't ask, just assume every block person has committed suicide before.
In the real world, every time Fang Yun committed suicide by cutting off his head with a sword, he would definitely obtain a player head.
"With Looting III, maybe I can get even more?" Fang Yun thought nonsensically.
After placing the teleportation gate, Fang Yun continued to replace the items needed from the Mods into his backpack.
"Bringing one Infinite Capacity Water Hopper and one Infinite Capacity Lava Hopper will be enough, I won't need more."
"There's one Mod item left, the Auto Item Collector. But this thing isn't useful right now, so I'll put it in the chest for now. The Auto Item Collector will only be useful when collecting drops after the Wonder excavation is completed."
Fang Yun planned to expand a small space every 388 blocks down, and then place two chests, a torch, and an Auto Item Collector in the expanded small space.
According to Fang Yun's calculations, doing this would ensure all the drops are collected into the chests, and the chest storage slots would be completely filled.
The pickup range of the Auto Item Collector can be customized within the upper limit, so there's no need to worry about some chests overflowing or some chests being empty.
"Hmm, I'm not lacking anything anymore, let's continue digging."
Fang Yun took his iron pickaxe to the spot where he had just dug one block of stone, raised his iron pickaxe, and began to dig down further.
...
Next came the long period of excavation.
...
Between the very beginning of the excavation tunnel and the part where the spiral officially began, Fang Yun placed the first iron door as the "final defense line" to prevent water or lava from surging up to the Shelter or even the surface.
...
During the excavation process, Fang Yun encountered many problems.
The first problem was the soft ground issue.
Because sand, gravel, and dirt are soft in texture, they would be squeezed and deformed under the high pressure underground, and then surge into the excavation tunnel.
Fortunately, they did not surge into the excavation tunnel quickly, so Fang Yun only needed to dig more blocks, place support blocks in time, and continue digging until he left this "soft ground" to solve this problem.
The second problem was groundwater leakage.
Sometimes, during the excavation process, Fang Yun would dig into groundwater.
The groundwater in the high-pressure cavity would pour out from the opening Fang Yun dug due to the strong pressure, and then surge up rapidly along the excavation tunnel.
At this time, Fang Yun would immediately place stones two blocks behind him to block the excavation tunnel, and then place an Infinite Capacity Water Hopper under his feet.
Next, Fang Yun would place a teleportation gate on the ground of the excavation tunnel and use the teleportation gate key to teleport back to the Shelter.
After that, Fang Yun only needed to teleport back to the excavation tunnel after a while to see if all the groundwater had flowed into the Infinite Capacity Water Hopper.
When the groundwater level was level with the hopper opening of the Infinite Capacity Water Hopper, Fang Yun could dig away the stones blocking the tunnel.
At this point, the groundwater that had surged up along the excavation tunnel would flow back down along the excavation tunnel, and eventually all flow into the Infinite Capacity Water Hopper.
Finally, he just needed to dig up the hopper and place it as low as possible below the remaining groundwater level to further process the remaining groundwater.
In the very end, by repeating the steps of "digging up the hopper, placing the hopper," all the groundwater could be processed.
Then, after collecting the teleportation gate and the hopper back into his backpack, Fang Yun could continue digging down.
The third problem, very similar to the groundwater leakage problem, was lava leakage.
The approach to handling lava leakage was similar to handling groundwater leakage, except the hopper was replaced with an Infinite Capacity Lava Hopper, and an extra step of extinguishing fire was added.
Because lava would cause Fang Yun to catch fire and lose health rapidly, Fang Yun had to handle lava leakage faster than groundwater leakage.
Moreover, after teleporting back to the Shelter, Fang Yun needed to quickly jump into the infinite water nearby to extinguish the flames on his body.
After extinguishing the flames on his body, Fang Yun needed to choose whether to commit suicide by cutting off his head with a sword or eat something to fully restore his health.
And this led to the fourth problem Fang Yun needed to face.
