11: Chapter 11 Enlightenment Card

Yun Ming equipped the Serious Punch golden trait and threw the heaviest punch he was currently capable of delivering.

As the trait lit up, Yun Ming felt the surrounding air begin to twist and distort.

The wind from his fist was biting; he felt as if he had entered a transcendent Realm where he could hear nothing, and only Ma San remained in his sight.

Bang!!!

A loud, dull sound rang out.

Ma San felt as if something had shattered; he felt incredibly light, as if he were flying in the sky.

He was indeed flying in the sky. Yun Ming's punch was almost equivalent to a heavy truck hitting him at full throttle; it was estimated that not a single bone in his body remained intact.

He flew for a full ten-odd seconds before falling from the sky.

Upon landing, he immediately fainted, losing consciousness.

Just then, people from the Law Enforcement Hall arrived.

“Who is fighting here!” shouted the leading Law Enforcement Hall Disciple.

Yun Ming naturally wouldn't claim responsibility and prepared to leave stealthily.

“Stop! Did I let you leave?” The leading Law Enforcement Hall Disciple saw Yun Ming trying to slip away and immediately blocked him.

Looking at the Law Enforcement Hall Disciple blocking his path, Yun Ming knew this matter probably wouldn't be handled easily.

“Internal fighting is forbidden within the Sect, don't you know that?”

“Senior Brother, you can't blame me. I was Cultivating peacefully at home when he suddenly barged in to burn, kill, and loot. Look,” Yun Ming pointed at the small broken house still engulfed in flames, “the Law Enforcement Hall must seek justice for me.”

One of the Law Enforcement Hall Senior Brothers brought Ma San—whose Meridians and bones were all broken—before Yun Ming and asked, “He did this?”

Yun Ming’s face didn't change and his heart didn't skip a beat: “Yes, that's right, it was him.”

“Then who beat him up?” From the tone of the question, he was genuinely asking Yun Ming who had beaten Ma San.

Yun Ming was stunned for a moment, but then it dawned on him. Oh, stereotypes. Stereotypes are great.

From the bottom of their hearts, they felt that Yun Ming couldn't be Ma San's opponent, let alone be able to beat Ma San into this state. One would need to be at least at Qi Refining Level 8 to achieve such an effect.

So they felt that Yun Ming was just someone caught in the crossfire.

The scene must have been Ma San having a dispute with someone at Qi Refining Level 8; the aftershocks of the battle destroyed Yun Ming's small broken house, and then Ma San was no match and got beaten into a pulp.

Yun Ming continued his Oscar-worthy performance: “I don't know. Aside from him, I didn't see anyone else.”

Yun Ming's words indirectly corroborated these people's thoughts.

“Can his words be trusted?” one of them said.

“Do you think a Qi Refining Level 4 could beat a Qi Refining Level 5 into a pile of mush without a scratch?”

“This...” The speaker also felt it was impossible.

“He probably offended some Inner Sect Disciple. He's just a mere Outer Sect member; no need to worry about it.”

They then lowered their heads for a brief discussion and reached a conclusion.

“Alright, this matter has nothing to do with you. You may go.”

Hearing the Law Enforcement Hall Disciple's words, Yun Ming breathed a sigh of relief, but to play the part to the end, he added, “Then what about my house?”

“Hey, I told you to scram, so scram already,” the Law Enforcement Hall Disciple said unpleasantly.

Seeing the other Law Enforcement Hall Disciples searching Ma San's body, Yun Ming knew he likely wouldn't get compensation for the house, though he hadn't really expected to get any in the first place.

The Law Enforcement Hall Disciples, having chased Yun Ming away, found a Storage Pouch and a few scattered Spirit Stones, then took Ma San away. As for where they went, it wasn't something Yun Ming could know.

Beside the ruins of the burned-down hut, Yun Ming warmed himself by the fire while counting what he had obtained from his hundred pulls.

Not counting the golden trait that could only be used once a day.

Yun Ming had also pulled ninety Low-Grade Spirit Stones and seven Mid-Grade Spirit Stones.

One qi condensing pill, Blue quality, Tier 1 High Grade Medicinal Pill, used to Breakthrough a Bottleneck during the Qi Refining Stage.

One enlightenment card, Purple quality, which can instantly allow one to comprehend any Tier 3 or lower Cultivation Technique, Spell, or Divine Ability.

He still stored the Mid-Grade Spirit Stones in the System wealth, but since he had over a hundred Low-Grade Spirit Stones, he simply took out a hundred to store in the System, leaving about fifty on his person.

Name: [Yun Ming]

Realm: [Qi Refining Level 4]

Trait: [Serious Punch] (Gold)

Profession: Tier 1 Low Grade Alchemist

Cultivation Technique: [Supreme Profound Pure Qi Art] (Purple), [Introduction to Alchemy Scripture] (Blue)

Spell: [Green Wood Art] (White)

Pull Count: [20]

Wealth: 0.12

Items: enlightenment card × 1 (Purple), qi condensing pill × 1 (Blue)

Looking at the panel, Yun Ming felt a bit pained. Only one gold after a hundred pulls? Was his luck good or bad? Was he a 'European' or an 'African'?

“Next time, I must endure until I have a Gacha-favorable trait before pulling.” After comforting himself, Yun Ming studied the enlightenment card again.

“An item that can instantly comprehend a Tier 3 or lower Cultivation Technique... Tier 3...” Yun Ming rubbed his chin and thought, “Tier 3 already belongs to the Golden Core Stage. Even if I comprehended a Tier 3 Spell, the Spiritual Qi in my body wouldn't be enough. I'd probably be drained dry before it even launched.”

“I can't use it for now, so I'll put it away.”

Yun Ming patted the dust off his buttocks and stood up; the hut had just finished burning down.

“To burn for this long, it seems my little broken house was quite flammable.” Yun Ming uttered a bit of nonsense.

However, having no place to live was now quite a problem for Yun Ming.

Unexpectedly, someone approached him at that moment.

“Senior Brother, do you need help?”

Yun Ming turned to look and saw a lean man. Like him, he had Five Spiritual Roots, but his cultivation was only at Qi Refining Level 2.

Seeing that Yun Ming didn't speak but was just sizing him up, the man spoke again: “My humble surname is Feng. My ancestors were all carpenters. I was lucky enough to enter the immortal Sect, but my Aptitude is mediocre, and it's hard for my cultivation to progress. The Spirit Stones provided by the Sect are barely enough for food and clothing, with little left to save. So, in my spare time, I help Senior Brothers renovate their houses to earn a Spirit Stone or two for Cultivation.”

Hearing this, Yun Ming understood. “How long would it take to build a livable house, and how many Spirit Stones?”

Carpenter Feng said, “If it's just for living, the simplest one only takes three days. I only charge for the material cost, so two Spirit Stones are enough. However, I also know Disciples from the Array Peak. For another three Spirit Stones, I can have a Array Peak Disciple set up a simple Spirit Gathering Array, which can take Senior Brother's Cultivation speed to the next level.”

“So cheap?” Yun Ming was somewhat skeptical. “Can you even earn any Spirit Stones?”

“It's a bit on the low side, but there's still a profit. Although my talent is poor, I want to save some Spirit Stones to return to the mortal world to marry and have children; perhaps my children will have talent.”

Yun Ming asked again, “Besides the Spirit Gathering Array, are there other Formations?”

“Yes, there are Dust-Cleansing Formations, Water-Drawing Formations, Glimmer Formations, Insect-Repelling Formations, and so on. They all only cost three Spirit Stones.”

When Yun Ming heard this, hey, don't say, it really was comprehensive. Cleaning, water purification, lighting, pest control—truly home essentials.

“Give me one set of everything you mentioned. Calculate how much it costs.” Yun Ming waved his hand grandly and took them all. He was an Outer Sect Disciple after all; he could afford this many Spirit Stones.

Hearing that Yun Ming wanted everything, Carpenter Feng immediately beamed with joy. “Thank you, Senior Brother. It's seventeen Spirit Stones in total, but fifteen will do. The Materials aren't worth much, so consider them a gift from me.”
