141: Chapter 140 Formation!

Yun Ming sat down cross-legged and closed his eyes.

His consciousness sank into his body, where five Golden Cores slowly rotated within his Dantian. Although his spiritual power was nearly exhausted, setting up a Formation required not spiritual power, but Divine Sense—an understanding of the Laws of heaven and earth, and a resonance with the Star Power.

He took a deep breath and concentrated all of his Divine Sense at his fingertips.

The first formation patterns flew out from his fingertip.

It was a pale gold line, thin as a strand of hair, yet it contained an indescribable mystery. It flew into the sky, merged into the clouds, and vanished into the night.

The second, third, and fourth followed immediately—more and more formation patternss appeared, growing denser as they continuously flew from his fingertips like countless golden threads weaving a giant net.

His Divine Sense was being consumed at a rapid pace.

Every formation patterns he inscribed required a precise sensing of Star Power and a profound understanding of the Laws of Formations. Sweat slid down his forehead and dripped onto the ground; his face grew paler and his aura weaker. Yet his fingers did not stop, still meticulously drawing stroke by stroke in the void.

Fu Qingyun stood at the very front, qingyun sword held horizontally before him, his gaze like a torch. More and more devil cultivators were approaching, getting closer as the auras of those in the Late Golden Core Stage bore down on them. He did not look back, only tightening his grip on his sword.

"They're here," he said in a low voice.

The first devil cultivator charged forward—a Golden Core Middle Stage using a long black blade surging with Devilish Qi. Fu Qingyun slashed out, his sword light like a rainbow, forcing the devil cultivator back three steps.

But more devil cultivators swarmed forward like a tide, like a plague of locusts.

Fu Qingyun roared and met them bare-handed. His copper bell was already shattered; his fists were his final weapons. He smashed a fist into a devil cultivator's face, sending him flying with a scream. However, another blade slashed from his side, leaving a deep, bone-deep gash on his arm. He gritted his teeth against the pain and threw a backhand punch, sending that person flying as well.

Han Song held the handle of the iron ruler, guarding Yun Ming's side. A devil cultivator broke through the outer perimeter and rushed close. Han Song thrust the iron ruler handle out, striking the man's throat. The devil cultivator collapsed clutching his throat, but Han Song's chest was also slashed open by the man's dying strike.

Liu Ruyan's long silk ribbon had long since been shredded; she picked up a broken sword from the ground and stood guard behind Fu Qingyun. Her sword techniques were far less exquisite than Fu Qingyun's, but every strike was made with her full strength and a resolve to die.

Even Sikong Gu rushed out carrying a Pill Furnace that was about to explode, using the violent blast to force back several Golden Core devil cultivators!

More Qingxuan Sect Disciples gathered around.

Those at the Foundation Establishment Stage and Qi Refining Stage—young people who should have stayed in the rear and never appeared on a Golden Core battlefield—stepped forward one by one, using their bodies to shield Yun Ming.

When someone fell, someone else filled the gap. When someone died, someone else stepped over their comrade's blood to charge forward.

Yun Ming could not hear any of this.

His entire mind was focused on those formation patternss, on those golden threads flying toward the sky. Most of his Divine Sense was already spent, and his head felt as if it were being pierced by countless needles, but he could not stop.

The formation patternss became more numerous and dense.

They intertwined, tangled, and converged in the air, gradually sketching out a massive outline. That outline covered several miles, enveloping all the Disciples of the Qingxuan Sect within it.

Then, the map of mountains and rivers flew out from between his eyebrows.

It suspended before him, green light flowing across its surface. He bit the tip of his tongue and spat a mouthful of essence blood onto the scroll. As the blood seeped in, the scroll suddenly unfurled, transforming into a green pillar of light that shot straight into the sky!

The map of mountains and rivers contained a hundred thousand miles of heaven and earth within it; it was his Lifebound Treasure. At this moment, it became the eye of the Zhoutian Star Array.

The green pillar of light surged into the clouds, interweaving with the golden formation patternss.

The entire sky began to vibrate. Clouds were torn apart and Devilish Qi was dispelled, revealing the pitch-black night curtain behind them.

Upon the night curtain, stars began to light up.

Not just one or two, but hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands.

Those stars seemed to be awakened by some power, lighting up one after another until the entire sky was as bright as day.

Starlight poured down from the Nine Heavens, converging into pillars of light that fell upon the Formation that was taking shape.

The map of mountains and rivers began to operate.

The hundred thousand miles of heaven and earth within the map slowly unfurled. Mountains, rivers, flora, and fauna—every inch of land resonated with the stars in the sky. The starlight fell upon the map, was absorbed, transformed, and then released by the scroll, turning into a purer and more vast Star Power that flowed into every vein of the great array.

The Spirit Stones on Yun Ming's person began to fly out.

Those Spirit Stones were his entire savings from over the years—Low Grade, Medium Grade, High Grade, and Top Grade. Tens of thousands of pieces flew from his robes, his sleeves, and the map of mountains and rivers, suspending in mid-air. They were so numerous they resembled an ocean of Spirit Stones, emitting various colors that sparkled brilliantly under the starlight.

Yun Ming raised his hand and pressed down into the void.

All the Spirit Stones shattered simultaneously!

The resulting Spiritual Qi was like a torrent, a tsunami, like the heavens collapsing and the earth rending!

The entire world trembled. Mountains shook, the earth cracked, and even the devil cultivators locked in combat were forced back repeatedly by this terrifying power.

Spiritual Qi surged into the formation patternss, and the veins suddenly blazed with light!

Those golden threads instantly expanded, turning into thick pillars of light that shot into the sky!

They connected with the stars above and the world within the map of mountains and rivers, weaving the sky, the earth, the stars, the mountains—everything—into this great array!

The entire battlefield was illuminated by starlight.

The devil cultivators still fighting, those charging, and those watching from afar—everyone stopped their movements and looked up at this sudden sea of stars.

They felt a vast, irresistible power slowly rising from this great array.

That power did not belong to the Golden Core, nor the Nascent Soul, nor even any person in this mortal realm—it was the power of the stars, the power of heaven and earth.

As the starlight fell upon the Qingxuan Sect Disciples, their wounds began to heal, their consumed spiritual power began to recover, and their exhausted bodies were refilled with strength.

Fu Qingyun looked down at his bloody fists, watching the wounds heal at a visible rate, his eyes full of disbelief. Fu Qingyun gripped his broken sword, feeling the long-lost sense of fullness within his body, and suddenly smiled. Liu Ruyan leaned against Fu Qingyun's shoulder, her eyes closed, letting the starlight wash over her; the light was warm and gentle, like a mother's hand.

Yet for the devil cultivators, the starlight that fell upon them felt like the cut of a blade, the burn of a fire.

Those with lower cultivation retreated screaming, smoke rising from their bodies. Even the Golden Core devil cultivators frowned, forced to circulate their techniques to resist.

Yun Ming finally stopped his hands.

His spiritual power was completely drained, and his Divine Sense was nearly dry. He collapsed onto the ground, without even the strength to lift a finger.

But he looked up at the sky shrouded in starlight, at the formation patternss slowly flowing through the starry sky, and at the map of mountains and rivers suspended in mid-air. A faint smile touched the corners of his mouth.

The Formation was complete.
