6: Chapter 6 The Kids Are Hard to Deal With

Yun Ming tried to sense Xiao Hao's Realm, but found that he actually couldn't see through it.

Feeling somewhat shocked but remaining calm, he asked, "Is it really that simple?"

"It's that simple. If you want to learn, the Scripture Pavilion has introductory books on Alchemy. However, you'll need to buy the Pill Formulas and Materials yourself. You can just rent a furnace from the Alchemy Room, otherwise even a first-grade low grade furnace would cost nearly a hundred Spirit Stones," Xiao Hao added some details.

"Thank you for the guidance, Senior Brother. I'll treat you to some wine once I pass the assessment," Yun Ming said, cupping his hands in gratitude.

"Alright, I'll wait for your treat then." Xiao Hao clearly didn't take Yun Ming's words to heart.

After saying that, Xiao Hao left and headed deep into the Alchemy Room.

Yun Ming didn't continue waiting; he planned to head to the Scripture Pavilion first. Although he had the System-instilled Introduction to Alchemy Scripture, it was best to compare it with the Sect's version.

Upon arriving at the Scripture Pavilion, the Elder guarding it merely glanced at Yun Ming, yet Yun Ming felt as if he had been seen through completely.

Fortunately, the Elder didn't notice anything unusual and said casually, "Outer Sect Disciple, only the first floor is open to you. Remember that." After speaking, he ignored Yun Ming.

Yun Ming replied, "Yes, this Disciple understands."

But shortly after entering the Scripture Pavilion, Yun Ming walked back out.

After walking some distance away, he found a corner and cursed under his breath in exasperation, "Damn it, you can only see the cover, and borrowing it actually costs ten Spirit Stones? Why don't you just go rob someone!"

But considering that entering the Alchemy Room was a necessity, Yun Ming opened the System interface.

Name: [Yun Ming]

Realm: [Qi Refining Level 4]

Cultivation Technique: [Supreme Profound Pure Qi Art] (Purple), [Introduction to Alchemy Scripture] (Blue)

Draws: [140]

Wealth: 0

"Let's start with twenty draws."

"Ding! Congratulations, you have obtained the following items:

Low-Grade Spirit Stone ×1 (White)

..."

Mid-Grade Spirit Stone ×1 (Blue)

Mid-Grade Spirit Stone ×1 (Blue)"

Yun Ming calculated: eighteen Low-Grade Spirit Stones, two Mid-Grade Spirit Stones, three left on his person, and the fifteen he had just snatched.

Converting them all to Low-Grade Spirit Stones, he had a total of two hundred and thirty-six.

Of course, he wouldn't use the Mid-Grade Spirit Stones; they turned into streaks of light and were temporarily stored in the System's wealth.

With thirty-six Spirit Stones tucked in his robe, he walked into the Scripture Pavilion once again.

Half an hour later, Yun Ming walked out again with a darkened Face.

"What a loss!"

Yun Ming hadn't expected the Alchemy introduction in the Sect's Scripture Pavilion to be so superficial. Compared to the System-instilled Introduction to Alchemy Scripture, the gap was more than just a little.

Exhaling a long breath, Yun Ming looked at the twenty-six Spirit Stones remaining in his hand, wondering if it was enough to buy Materials for qi gathering pills.

Before going to the Sect Market to buy Materials for the qi gathering pills, Yun Ming first went to the Sect Deacon Hall to register and officially become an Outer Sect Disciple.

The monthly Spirit Stone allowance for an Outer Sect Disciple was increased to one hundred. He received a set of Outer Sect Disciple robes, a Disciple token, a first-grade low grade longsword artifact, and was allowed to choose any first-grade low grade Spell from the Scripture Pavilion.

Hearing about the hundred Spirit Stones a month made Yun Ming ecstatic, but when it came time to collect, the Senior Brother at the Deacon Hall told him there were none for this month and he'd have to wait until next month, which was like dousing Yun Ming in cold water.

Returning to the Scripture Pavilion once more, he began selecting a suitable Spell for himself.

"Fireball Technique? Average."

"Golden Shield Incantation? Also average."

"Wind Blade Technique? Huh? Why does it cost a hundred Spirit Stones? Damn, it's actually a First-Grade Medium Grade Spell."

After much picking and choosing, Yun Ming finally selected the Green Wood Art, a first-grade low grade healing Spell.

Fighting and killing wasn't his style; he was a kind person.

Having chosen his Spell, Yun Ming left the Scripture Pavilion decisively. This place was a source of heartbreak; he would remember those ten Spirit Stones for the rest of his life.

Upon returning to his small hut, Yun Ming ran into Yun Xin again, who was walking with the three people from the Alchemy Room.

"Yun Ming! You... you're okay?" Yun Xin and the other three looked at Yun Ming in surprise, scanning him up and down as if trying to find some sign of injury.

Yun Ming's eyebrows twitched, thinking that today's incident clearly had something to do with them.

Instantly, he went into full actor mode, clutching his chest and looking as if he were at death's door.

"Yun Xin, do you know something? Did you find someone to take revenge on me!"

Seeing Yun Ming's miserable state, Yun Xin felt as if he had finally vented his frustration. He laughed toward the sky, "Good, good, good! That's right! I'm the one who found people to teach you a lesson, to let you know the consequences of disrespecting your Elders!"

The other three were also overjoyed at the sight. "Kid, remember, don't be too arrogant, or you never know when bad luck will strike."

Yun Ming pointed at the three of them tremulously and asked, "The three of you were involved too?!"

"Hahaha, that's right!"

As soon as the words left their mouths, Yun Ming vanished from their sight. Then, several of them felt the world spinning. By the time they reacted, they only felt a burning pain all over, and their companions were lying sprawled across the ground.

Yun Ming patted the leader's Face. "Alright, tell me everything you know."

"Kid! You actually dared to strike!" the leader shrieked in shock.

Slap!

With one slap from Yun Ming, the left side of the leader's Face swelled up.

"I'll give you one more chance. Speak properly."

"You, you, you..." The leader couldn't even speak straight and began to tremble.

Slap! Another slap, and the right side of his Face swelled up as well.

"Explain clearly, why did Elder Qian send someone to break my legs?" Yun Ming asked again.

"You! How do you know about Elder Qian?" The leader's Face was so swollen his speech was muffled, but the shock in his voice was clear.

A faint green light shimmered on Yun Ming's hand—the Green Wood Art was in operation. The swelling on the leader's Face began to subside rapidly.

This left the leader somewhat confused, but it was quite comfortable; at least it didn't feel like a burning pain anymore.

"You just need to tell me everything you know. It's quite simple, isn't it?"

"I won't say a word!" He thought Yun Ming was using the Green Wood Art to treat him because he was scared.

Slap! Slap!

Unexpectedly, Yun Ming delivered two more slaps.

The Face that had just been healed by the Green Wood Art swelled up again. While he was in heart-wrenching pain, green light shimmered on Yun Ming's hand once more.

The others lying nearby couldn't help but feel terrified, swallowing hard in unison.

They looked at Yun Ming as if they were looking at some kind of demon.

"I'll talk, I'll say everything!" The leader was truly frightened; in his eyes, Yun Ming was a pervert.

Yun Ming was a bit disappointed; he'd confessed after only two slaps.

"Speak then, I'm listening. Exactly how did I offend this Elder Qian?"

"Elder Qian is an Outer Sect Elder at Qi Refining Level 7. All the medicinal dregs from the Alchemy Room are supposed to be collected and sent to Elder Qian. You cleaned so fast and thoroughly that all the dregs were disposed of completely, and that's what made Elder Qian unhappy."

"What does Elder Qian want the medicinal dregs for?"

"That... that I don't know."

"Why didn't anyone tell me?"

The leader looked toward the other two, and they all fell silent.

Seeing their expressions, Yun Ming understood what had happened.

It turned out that when he first entered the Alchemy Room, these three had tried to give him a show of authority because they had been there longer. Unexpectedly, he hadn't given them any Face and had offended them, so they didn't tell him about the situation with Elder Qian.

Looking at these three, Yun Ming was so angry he laughed. It truly was easier to deal with the King of Hell than with these little devils.
