118: My eyes are opened

With Cheng Zhen's command, Number 2 immediately responded, "Liar!"

"You motherf*cker!!!"

The initiator's face twisted in rage, glaring fiercely at Cheng Zhen and Number 2.

Why, why was this guy more obedient than a dog?

Something was wrong, definitely something was wrong!

"You two are in cahoots!" The initiator's face was flushed red as he pointed at Cheng Zhen, "Cheating, you are cheating!!!"

"How can you just accuse someone out of nowhere?" Cheng Zhen had a 'how could I be so wronged' expression, "Didn't you also have Number 4 open me earlier? How come it's not okay for me to have Number 2 open you?"

"He listens to you every single time, how can there be no problem?" The initiator roared.

Cheng Zhen spread his hands, "Then how am I supposed to know why he's so obedient? Is it my fault he's obedient?"

The initiator really wanted to flip the table, but he couldn't.

Because the tavern's waiters and thugs had already surrounded them.

A bead of cold sweat trickled down the initiator's temple.

Shooting now might not kill him, but causing trouble in Boss William's tavern would definitely mean death!

The initiator fell silent, then reached for his gun and pulled the trigger on himself again.

Click.

Empty chamber.

He sat down silently, then waited for the waiter to shuffle the cards.

"A King."

The initiator stared intently at Cheng Zhen and Number 2's faces, watching if they dared to open him again.

Number 2 looked at Cheng Zhen, who had a slight smile.

Then Number 2 played his card, passing.

"Three Kings!" Cheng Zhen once again dramatically fanned out his cards.

"He's a fake!!!" The initiator shouted at Number 4, "This guy and Number 2 are in cahoots, if you don't open him now, are you waiting for him and Number 2 to kill you together?!"

Number 4 said nothing, silently playing his card.

"You! Why?!"

The initiator was almost insane, his trembling finger pointing at the three of them, "You, you!"

Then, he simply shouted at the card-dealing waiter, "Can't you see? The three of them are clearly working together! They're cheating!"

"Sir, please calm down."

The waiter glanced at him indifferently, then looked at Cheng Zhen and the others, smiling, "No matter what, there can only be one winner at this table."

Even if he saw that the three of them were working together, what then? They couldn't possibly have two people die to protect one, could they?

In the end, they would still have to fight each other, so what difference did it make whether he intervened or not?

The initiator understood the waiter's unspoken meaning, and his face became even more distorted.

Cold sweat almost drenched his clothes, leaving him at a loss for what to do.

"Hurry up."

Cheng Zhen urged lazily, "Even if these guys behind you keep giving you hints, your hand won't change, you know!"

"You—" The initiator's pupils contracted, his mouth open, but no sound came out.

The spectators behind also involuntarily took two steps back, looking at the sky, the ground, and the air.

Cheng Zhen rolled his eyes, "They're not even bothering to act, who wouldn't be able to tell?"

Knowing so clearly about his fake cards and Number 4's real cards, was it clairvoyance?

But if it were clairvoyance, his gaze would surely be focused on the cards, not on their three faces, after all, there was no truth or falsehood on their faces.

The initiator said nothing, only trembled as he played his next card.

Number 2 passed, without questioning, and Cheng Zhen once again discarded all his cards, just like before.

Number 4 was about to play, but was stopped by Cheng Zhen.

"How about we shuffle the cards and leave it to fate?"

Cheng Zhen glanced at the initiator, a smirk on his lips, "Anyway, you don't have any real cards left. If you don't question him, Number 2 will question you!"

The original words were returned to the initiator, and cold sweat once again beaded on his forehead.

Number 4 obediently placed his cards on the table, casually rearranged them, and then threw one out without even looking.

"Liar!"

The initiator shouted, his face flushed red.

Just as Cheng Zhen said, if he didn't question, Number 2 would question him.

So, he had no choice.

The initiator stared intently at the waiter's movements, too nervous to breathe.

The card was flipped over.

King.

The initiator's breath hitched.

Fear, like invisible chains, tightly wrapped around his chest, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.

"Sorry, no luck."

Cheng Zhen smiled, "He remembers which one is the real card!"

"%$#@!!!"

A torrent of curses poured out, the initiator wished he could flip the table and jump onto Cheng Zhen's face to fight him.

But he was held down by the already prepared thugs.

"Obey Boss William's rules."

They stared coldly at the initiator.

"...Yes."

The initiator slumped down dejectedly.

The panic in his heart surged like a tide, uncontrollable. His hand trembled wildly, and with the help of a 'kind thug,' he managed to pick up the pistol and aim it at himself.

Bang!!!

This time, the muzzle spat fire.

Blood and brains splattered everywhere, and his body convulsed from the violent flow of blood.

The spectators did not cheer and laugh as they had before; several of them looked visibly uncomfortable.

The waiters remained impassive, cleaning up the 'mess.'

Soon, only three people were left at the table.

"Alright, gentlemen."

The card-dealing waiter smiled at Cheng Zhen, "Please continue!"

Just as he had said earlier, only one winner could remain at the table.

So, you three are working together, are you? Well, two of you still have to die!

If you dare to violate Boss William's rules, then all three of you will die!

"Okay."

Cheng Zhen looked calm, then threw a card and said to Number 4, "Question him!"

Number 4 obediently flipped the card.

A real King.

Number 4, without a word, shot himself.

The waiter's eyes widened.

The thugs were incredulous.

No, buddy???

Are you really going to die to protect one person?

The spectators were all stunned.

This is what you call not even bothering to act, right?!

You die when told to die!

The waiter looked dazed, no longer knowing how to shuffle cards.

People cheat to live, but you cheat to kill your subordinates?

The thugs looked complex, and couldn't help but move a little further away.

These people all followed Boss William for benefits; they had truly never seen anyone like Number 2 and Number 4, who followed Cheng Zhen to their deaths.

Two more rounds passed, and Number 4, under Cheng Zhen's arrangement, questioned two times, then 'bang' and gloriously died.

Number 2 kept playing fake cards, letting Cheng Zhen keep calling 'Liar,' and then kept shooting himself.

The NPCs didn't know that mental control abilities were disabled in the instance, but they suspected Cheng Zhen could brainwash his subordinates into truly sacrificing themselves for him.

After another gunshot, the outcome was no surprise.

"Done." Cheng Zhen stretched, then looked at the waiter, "Can you announce the final winner now?"

Waiter: "..."

Win then, who could ever win against you!

I've been working for so many years, but today was truly like Erlang Shen opening his third eye and unleashing his ultimate move—I've seen it all!
